It was once again the Grove/Roth show as the Titans defeated the Hawks in straight sets.
Outside hitter Ben Grove led all players with 13 kills, 5 aces.
“(He displayed) some truly convincing and powerful hitting,” Titans’ coach Dave Schlosser said. “Gavin Roth was seemingly everywhere tonight. He had another outstanding game setting, blocking and defensively. Gavin is really turning into a leader on the court. He ended the night with 21 assists, 8 digs and 3 key blocks.
“As always, our middles were the big reliable influence we needed on the floor.”
William Nothum had 10 kills and Brody Cocca 8.
“They also both had a solid night blocking,” Schlosser said. “Things really seem to be clicking.
“I believe there is still a chance for us to get into the playoffs even after our very rough start to the season. The boys really seem to want it."
Sophomore Jake Wullert made his varsity debut and notched his first kill.
“He also served very well,” Schlosser said. “He earned the opportunity with a lot of hard work and great play for the JV this season.”
