This was the first game in the Bristol Tip off Tournament against a familiar foe, Lower Moreland. The game was close the whole game. Lower Moreland is very young and talented team. Coach Becker has them pressing and playing fast.
The lions were lead by Junior Emily Wilson 13 Points and Junior Izzy Elizondo tallied 11 points. Nina Meixler scored 8 points and had a solid floor game.
Polinsky- for us to be successful this year it’s an all in team approach .Emily and Izzy led the way in the second half. Emily had all her points in the second half which we needed. Sophomores Kayla Fennel and Elena Shire both had strong games at both ends of the floor.
Lower Moreland Comments
The season did not start off the way we had hoped. We knew that starting the year against New Hope, who is always well coached and athletic, would be a challenge. Four of our top 6 rotational players are new to the program and at times that showed. We saw some flashes of why we're excited about the long term outlook for the team, but there were also a lot of things we need to tighten up as we have three more games in the next four days.
