Alumni Update 3-13-09

 

BASEBALL
Blair Dameron drove in a run in West Chester’s 7-1 win over Millersville in the opening game of a double header on Friday. The Golden Rams’ first baseman had a pair of hits, including a double, and two RBIs in West Chester’s 7-5 win in game two. West Chester upped its record to 10-7 overall, 2-0 in the PSAC Eastern Division.
Tony Donofry (Council Rock North) scored the only run in Bloomsburg’s 1-0 win over Shippensburg in the second game of a twinbill on Friday. Donofry singled to lead off the bottom of the first and then stole second, eventually scoring on an RBI single for the only run of the game.  Shippensburg won the first game 5-1. Bloomsburg is 9-8, 11 in the PSAC Eastern Division.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Stony Brook University’s Misha Horsey (Cheltenham) contributed nine points and four assists in her team’s 68-53 loss to Hartford in the quarterfinals of the America East Basketball Tournament on Friday night.
TENNIS
Freshman Dan Lee (Abington) defeated Vassar College’s Joshua Jasso 6-3, 6-7 (10-8) at sixth singles in The College of New Jersey’s 8-1 win over Vassar. Lee also teamed with Bill Carrig at third doubles for another win. The match wrapped up play on TCNJ’s training trip in Florida. TCNJ is 5-1 overall and ranked 29th in Division III.
VOLLEYBALL
Sophomore Michael Semeraro (Pennsbury) had seven kills in East Stroudsburg’s 3-0 win over King College (Tenn.) on Thursday night. ESU is 4-6 on the season.
