BASEBALL
Senior Tony Donofry (Council Rock North) is one of the key returners on a Bloomsburg baseball team picked to finish seventh in the PSAC East. Donofry hit .396 last season with 30 RBIs and 65 hits. He also had 18 stolen bases.
Junior Mike Knipe (Pennridge) and sophomore Alex Latchum (Central Bucks South) are returning veterans for Chestnut Hill College. Knipe, who plays first base, hit .297 (41-for-138) with three home runs and 21 RBIs. He also had 18 stolen bases. Latchum will shift from left field to centerfield this season after earning CACC Second Team recognition as a freshman. For the season last year, he hit .306 (38-for-124) with 16 RBIs and 15 stolen bases.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Ronald Moore (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored nine points, including the 1,000th of his career, in Siena’s 88-68 win over Iona on Friday. He is the 35th Saint to score 1,000 points. He also had four assists for Siena (20-4, 13-0).
Junior Chris McDevitt (Central Bucks West) scored 10 points in Widener’s 70-62 loss to Lebanon Valley on Sunday.
Senior Brian Oleksiak (Abington) contributed four points and four assists in the first 20 minutes of Shippensburg’s 71-63 win over Mansfield on Saturday. Chris Pender (Cheltenham) played all 40 minutes and was 4-of-11 from three-point range. Pender scored nine points in Mansfield’s 68-67 win over Bloomsburg on Wednesday.
Lavoy Allen (Pennsbury) recorded his eighth double-double of the year (14 points, 15 rebounds) as #17/19 Temple defeated Duquesne 76-60 on Wednesday.
East Stroudsburg senior Robby Pines (Souderton) ranks seventh in Division II with 6.7 assists per game after recording a career-high 12 assists vs. West Chester.
Freshman Dalton Pepper (Pennsbury) scored five points in sixth-ranked West Virginia’s 70-51 win over Pitt on Wednesday.
Ryan Washington (Wissahickon) contributed 16 points and seven rebounds in Kutztown’s 94-62 loss to Cheyney on Wednesday.
Thomas Young (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 17 points in IUP’s 71-62 loss to Clarion on Sunday. The loss was the first of the season in PSAC play for IUP (18-2, 7-1). Young also had 17 points in IUP’s 81-55 win over Edinboro on Wednesday.
Andrew Young (Cheltenham) scored 15 points in the second half to finish with a game-high 23 points in California’s 79-65 win over Slippery Rock on Wednesday. Young connected on 10-of-14 shots. He also had a game-high eight rebounds. Over the last six games, Young is averaging 19.7 points and 7.2 rebounds while shooting 64.3 percent from the field (54-of-84).
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Senior Aly Hinton (Council Rock North) surpassed the 1,000-point plateau in Boston University’s 79-56 win over Binghamton on Thursday. Hinton scored 11 points off the bench, connecting on 3-of-4 shots from the field while going 4-for-5 from the free throw line. She is the 18th player in program history to reach the milestone. Hinton also pulled down six rebounds, all on the defensive end, to give her 600 for her career. She is just the sixth player in BU women’s basketball history to reach 1,000 points and 600 rebounds.
Junior Addie Micir (Council Rock North) scored a career-high 25 points in Princeton’s 58-47 win over Dartmouth on Saturday. She shot 8-for-18 overall and was 3-for-9 from beyond the arc and 6-for-8 from the foul line. She added two rebounds and one assist. Princeton improved to 17-2 overall and 5-0 in Ivy League play.                                                                                                       
Sophomore Casey Pritz (Abington) contributed 14 points and eight rebounds, including 12 points in the second half, to lead Widener to a 68-60 win over No. 20 Lebanon Valley on Sunday. Pritz scored 18 points in Widener’s 70-61 win over Albright on Wednesday, connecting on 7-of-8 from the floor. She also pulled down 12 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season and the 13th of her career.
Jamie Donovan (Central Bucks East) scored six points in Lock Haven’s 62-49 loss to Edinboro on Saturday. Teammate Heather McHugh (Norristown) added five points. McHugh scored a career-high 20 points in Lock Haven’s 87-70 loss to Clarion on Wednesday. Thirteen of her 20 points came in the second half. McHugh hit four three-pointers and was 7-for-13 from the field. She also had four rebounds and three assists.
Nicole Pender (Cheltenham) contributed 18 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals in Mansfield’s 78-58 loss to Shippensburg on Saturday.
Freshman Mashira Newman (Upper Dublin) scored 11 points in Millersville’s 55-46 win over East Stroudsburg on Wednesday night.
Jen Sroba (Council Rock North) scored eight points in Ursinus College’s 55-32 win over Bryn Mawr on Wednesday. On Monday, sophomore guard Alli Rosati (Central Bucks East) scored 12 points in Ursinus’s 57-55 loss to Franklin and Marshall.
MEN’S SWIMMING
Tim Dorsch (Souderton) is part of Bloomsburg’s 400-medley relay that is ranked 18th in the NCAA Division II Top 25 poll by collegeswimming.com. Teammate Nick Ortlieb (North Penn) is a member of the 200 medley relay that is ranked 23rd.
WOMEN’S SWIMMING
Bloomsburg freshman Madeline Barlow (Pennsbury) is currently ranked sixth in the 200 IM, 11th in the 200 backstroke and 13th in the 100 butterfly in the NCAA Division II Top 25 poll by collegeswimming.com. Teammate Julia DeVincent (Upper Dublin) is part of the 400 free relay that is ranked 17th.
Freshman Megan Lafferty (Upper Dublin) finished second in the 50 backstroke in Maryland’s 169.5 to 81.5 win over Georgetown on Friday.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Daniela DePaoli (Wissahickon) won her fourth singles match (6-1, 0-6, 6-3) in Temple’s 4-3 win over Penn on Thursday. DePaoli also was part of the third doubles team that earned an 8-6 win.
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Shippensburg sophomore Eric Wolfe (Central Bucks East) was part of the 4x400 meter relay that finished with a time of 3:21.60 at Saturday’s New Balance Games. The effort is the fastest this season in the PSAC. Sophomore Kyle Raguz (Central Bucks) was part of Shippensburg’s distance medley relay squad that posted a time of 9:58.71, trimming six seconds off last week’s school record pace at Friday’s New Balance Games.
Temple freshman Tim Malloy (Neshaminy) placed ninth with a time of 8:42 at the New Balance Invitational on Saturday.
Ursinus senior Nick Bendas (Central Bucks East) won the long jump with a leap of 19-9 at the Coach I Open hosted by Franklin and Marshall last Saturday.
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Lock Haven sophomore Vanita Moses (Neshaminy) was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for her efforts at the Penn State National Invitational. Moses took 11th in the weight throw overall and was the top Division III finisher. Her record of 54-02 (NCAA provisional) is the top mark in the PSAC this season and is ranked 17th nationally.
Temple freshman Victoria Gocht (Upper Dublin) clocked a time of 1:13.34 in the 500 meter for a second place finish ahead of competitors from Southern California, Ohio State and Villanova at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational on Saturday. Gocht was also part of the 4x400 meter relay that ran a time of 3:45.54 to meet ECAC marks and place second.
Ursinus junior Inki Hong (North Penn) finished first in the pole vault (22-6) while teammate Amy Schaefer (Central Bucks South) finished second (9-6) at the Coach I Open last Saturday.
East Stroudsburg’s Kayla Littrell (William Tennent) finished 20th in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:06.50 at the DeShriver Invitational on Sunday. She finished 12th in the 400 with a time of 1:07.84 at the Thomson Invitational on Monday and was part of the 4x400 relay team that finished fifth with a time of 4:31.32.            
Junior Laura Henzy (Neshaminy) was part of Shippensburg’s 4x400 meter relay that finished with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 3:52.88, just 11 one-hundredths of a second off the school’s record at Saturday’s New Balance Games. It was a six-second improvement from their previous PSAC-best time recorded last weekend and ranks eighth in Division II.
WRESTLING
Senior Nate Nauroth (Quakertown), ranked third in the East Region rankings, picked up an 8-3 decision win in Shippensburg’s 24-22 loss to Mercyhurst on Saturday. He is 9-3 on the season. Bill Purvis (Souderton) lost on a tech fall at 157.
Freshman Devon Passman (Central Bucks East) lost a 4-1 decision at 174 in East Stroudsburg’s 21-15 loss to Delaware Valley on Thursday. Teammate David Luthy (Plymouth Whitemarsh) lost a major decision 12-1. For Del Val, Eric McCann (Pennridge) lost a 12-4 major decision.
