MEN’S BASKETBALL
Senior Nick Christian (Bensalem) joined Philadelphia University’s 1,000-point club in Wednesday’s 75-64 win over Wilmington (Del.). The Bensalem grad needed nine points, and he made himself the 51st Philly U player to achieve the milestone in the game’s final minute by hitting the first of two free throws with 28.0 seconds remaining. Christian finished with 10 points and tied a career high with 15 rebounds for his first double-double of the year.

Michael Brown (Hatboro-Horsham) and Tim Abruzzo (Pennridge) both received playing time off the bench in Navy’s 61-48 loss to Boston University on Wednesday.

Senior point guard Chris Davis (Norristown) handed out eight assists to become the Alvernia University career assist leader in Alvernia’s 80-74 win at Elizabethtown on Saturday. Davis entered the game two assists short of Chris Alba’s (’02) career record 416 helpers. He tied the mark with an assist at the 14:46 mark of the first half and then broke it when a teammate knocked down a three two possessions later to tie the game at 13-all with 13:40 left in the half. Davis also contributed 10 points. In Wednesday’s 80-72 loss to Albright, Davis handed out eight assists.

Junior Travis Bryan (Hatboro-Horsham) posted his first career double-double in DeSales University’s 68-60 win over Misericordia on Saturday, contributing 10 points and 10 rebounds. It was the first double-double of the season for any Bulldog. Bryan’s 10 points were a career high, and he also added four blocks in the win. In Thursday’s 75-68 win over Delaware Valley, Bryan had eight points, eight rebounds and two blocks while teammate Michael Guldin (Pennridge) had seven points and three assists.

All-America junior guard Whis Grant (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had 22 points and a career-high nine rebounds in No. 3 East Stroudsburg’s 93-64 win over Millersville on Saturday. Freshman Anthony McKie (Plymouth Whitemarsh) came on late in the first half and knocked down two three-pointers in less than 40 seconds. In Thursday’s 82-80 loss to Lock Haven, Grant scored 18 of his 23 points in the second half. Grant is 11th at ESU with 1,287 career points, surpassing Al Munford (1,285-1994-98).

Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown) scored 13 points in Bloomsburg’s 78-53 win over Shippensburg on Saturday. His three three-pointers give him 221 for his career. He needs just five more to become the school’s all-time leader. In Thursday’s 62-56 win over Cheyney, Christmas scored a game-high 19 points.

Ryan Connolly (Souderton) shot 3-for-4 from beyond the arc and a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line, six of which came in the final 15 seconds, in Kutztown’s 73-70 upset of West Chester on Saturday. Connolly’s 19 points are the most since he scored 20 in the season opener on Nov. 15. He also grabbed six rebounds. Freshman Josh Johnson (Norristown) led the team in rebounding with seven. In Thursday’s 82-80 setback to Mansfield, Connolly and Johnson both scored 13 points.

Senior Dalton Pepper (Pennsbury) led all scorers with 15 points in Temple’s 75-52 loss to SMU on Thursday. In Sunday’s 88-74 loss to Houston, Pepper scored 17 points.

Freshman Keelan Adams (Neshaminy) scored nine points on 4-of-7 shooting, and he tied a career high with four rebounds and contributed three assists – the first three of his career – in Shippensburg’s 78-53 loss to Bloomsburg on Saturday. Junior Sam Pygatt (Plymouth Whitemarsh) led the Raiders with 11 points – his second straight game posting double figures. Pygatt made his third start of the season and his first since Nov. 16 versus Shepherd.

Sophomore forward Dave Knox (Central Bucks South) had six rebounds while junior guard Sean Brooks (North Penn) had two steals in Washington College’s 74-42 loss to McDaniel on Thursday. Wesley Brooks (North Penn) had a team-high seven rebounds for McDaniel.

Junior Marcus Badger (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 10 points in Randolph-Macon’s 84-72 win over Lynchburg on Saturday.

Zach Sibel (Pennsbury) scored six points in Delaware Valley’s 75-68 loss to DeSales on Thursday.

Mike Marvin (Hatboro-Horsham) collected his 15th double-double of the year with 12 points and 10 rebounds in Penn State Abington’s 61-59 loss to SUNY Cobleskill on Sunday. In Saturday’s 80-75 loss to SUNYIT, Marvin contributed 19 points and 17 rebounds.

Sophomore Ryan Arcidiacono (Neshaminy) contributed six points and six assists in No. 6 Villanova’s 70-53 win over Seton Hall on Friday.

Freshman guard John Kanas (Souderton) scored 10 points while senior Jesse Krasna (Pennsbury) added six in Ursinus College’s 81-76 loss to Dickinson on Saturday. In Thursday’s 63-60 loss to Swarthmore, Krasna scored 11 while sophomore guard Mark Wonderling (Souderton) had five rebounds.

Julian Hyden (Bensalem) scored 12 points in Gwynedd Mercy’s 90-74 win over Keystone on Thursday.

Senior guard Kenny Gula (Quakertown) scored 12 points in Moravian’s 61-51 loss to Juniata on Saturday.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Sophomore Alex Wheatley (Council Rock South) scored a career-high 18 points, going 8-of-10 from the field and a perfect 2-for-2 from the foul line in Princeton’s 70-41 win over Columbia on Friday.

Junior guard Shayla Felder (Cheltenham) came off the bench to contribute 15 points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals in Chestnut Hill’s 66-50 win over Nyack College on Saturday. In Thursday’s 59-54 loss to the University of the Sciences, Felder scored 12 points and also had three assists.

Senior Kelsey Ryan (Neshaminy) had eight rebounds in Lock Haven’s 60-57 loss to East Stroudsburg on Thursday.

Junior Shannon Barlow (Neshaminy) notched the first double-double of her collegiate career in Delaware Valley’s 81-56 win over Eastern University on Saturday. Barlow, a 6-1 center, shot 6-for-9 from the field and finished with 14 points. She also grabbed 10 rebounds, and her strong defensive play held Eagle All-American center Meghan Nowak to just two points and six rebounds on 1-for-6 shooting.

Jordan Dominic (Pennridge) scored 11 points in Gwynedd Mercy’s 109-29 win over Cairn on Saturday.

Sophomore guard Helena Gemmell (Council Rock North) contributed four points, five rebounds and five steals in East Stroudsburg’s 57-54 win over Millersville on Saturday.

Sophomore Stephanie Knauer (North Penn) contributed 13 points and 13 rebounds in Shippensburg’s 68-65 loss to Bloomsburg on Saturday.

Emily Leer (Abington) scored 13 points in Villanova’s 72-66 win at Providence on Wednesday. Leer is 23-of-46 from the field (50%) in the last six games.

Senior Daniella Ciccarone (Quakertown) led all scorers with 20 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for her team-best sixth double-double of the season in St. Thomas University’s 67-47 win over Warner on Saturday. In Thursday’s 60-50 win over Webber International, Ciccarone led STU with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

Sophomore Ciara ‘CC’ Andrews (Cheltenham) contributed eight points and three rebounds in St. Joseph’s 73-67 loss to St. Bonaventure on Wednesday.

Amie Eppolito (Pennsbury) contributed 16 points and two steals in Cairn University’s 109-29 loss to Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday. In Thursday’s 59-34 loss to Cedar Crest College, Eppolito had 13 points, three rebounds, five assists and two blocks.

Colleen Hinde (Wissahickon) scored 10 points in Neumann University’s 76-59 win over Keystone College on Saturday.

Freshman center Tyra Roberts (Bensalem) scored the game-winning layup at the buzzer to give Alvernia a 58-56 upset win over Elizabethtown on Saturday. Roberts, who finished with 16 points, went 8-for-13 from the floor and also pulled down nine rebounds. In Wednesday’s 75-69 loss to Albright, Roberts scored 11 points.

Sarah Kiely (Council Rock North) had a team-high six rebounds to go along with four points in American University’s 75-57 win over Colgate on Saturday. Freshman Lauren Crisler (North Penn) connected on all three shots she took from the floor, finishing with six points and two steals. In Wednesday’s 63-38 win over Loyola, Kiely had a team-high eight rebounds while Crisler had five boards.

Sam Siminonis (Pennridge) scored a team-high 12 points in Vermont’s 69-52 loss to Maine on Wednesday.

MEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING
Senior Sean Staerk (Abington) was part of the winning 200 free relay (1:25.68) in Gettysburg’s 186.5-74.5 win over Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. In Gettysburg’s 124-81 win over Dickinson on Wednesday, Staerk and Ashton Leyens (Upper Dublin) were part of the winning 200 free relay team (1:27.40). Leyens also won the 200 free with a time of 1:46.47. 

WOMEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING
Senior Ali Roth (Central Bucks West) celebrated her final home meet, contributing to four victories in Gettysburg’s 167.5-94.5 win over Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. Individually, she won the 50 freestyle (24.25) and was credited with a tie for first place in the 100 freestyle (54.09). Roth also anchored the winning 200 medley relay (1:52.27) and swam the opening leg of the victorious 200 free relay (1:40.51). Sophomore Alyssa Pepper (Central Bucks West) won the 100 backstroke (1:02.83). Junior Ellie Houser (Upper Dublin) was part of the victorious 200 free relay. In Wednesday’s 124-81 win over Dickinson, Roth was part of the winning 200 medley relay (1:53.44). She also won the 50 free with a time of 25.02.

Emily Houser (Upper Dublin) anchored the winning 200 free relay (1:42.82) and won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.11 in Dickinson’s 124-81 loss to Gettysburg on Wednesday. She swam the lead leg of the medley relay that placed second with a time of 1:54.56. In Saturday’s 114-91 win over Swarthmore, Houser anchored the winning free relay and posted a win in the 50 freestyle (25.43). Houser placed second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:13.30.

Junior Chelsea Kozior (Council Rock South) won the 1000 free with a time of 11:00.09 in Ursinus College’s 115-83 win over Bryn Mawr. The win secured an undefeated dual meet season with a record of 11-0 and a perfect 7-0 in the Centennial.

MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Pittsburgh freshman Chris Spadaro (Council Rock South) set an ACC qualifying distance of 6.79 meters in the long jump at the Virginia Elite Meet on Friday.

WRESTLING
Junior Richard Jasinski (Pennridge) earned a 10-1 major decision over Erik Meyer at 157 in Ursinus College’s 40-3 win over McDaniel on Saturday.

Matt Martoccio (Council Rock South) earned his first pin (4:22) of the season at 157 in Kutztown’s 38-6 win over Alderson Broaddus on Saturday.
