BASEBALL
IUP senior Robbie Zinsmeister (North Penn) was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 14. The North Penn grad was honored after hitting .478 with a 1.087 slugging percentage from his leadoff spot as IUP went 6-0 last week. Eight of his 11 hits last week went for extra bases, including four triples, three doubles and his fourth home run of the year. He scored 12 runs and struck out just once in 26 plate appearances, knocking in four runs and adding two stolen bases.

Leadoff hitter Brandon Martinez (North Penn) went 4-for-4 with five RBIs and two walks in Kutztown’s 17-2 win over Philadelphia University on Sunday. His five RBIs are a career best for the sophomore. He also scored three runs. Senior catcher Matt Albaugh (North Penn) was 2-for-2 with three RBIs.

Drew Frankenfield (Wissahickon) was 3-for-5 with an RBI in York College’s 6-2 win over Wesley in an elimination game of the 2013 Capital Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday. In Friday’s 15-5 win over St. Mary’s (Md.) in an elimination game, Frankenfield had two hits. Zach Philippi (Harry S Truman) tossed 1.2 innings of scoreless relief with two strikeouts. In Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to Mary Washington in an opening round game, Frankenfield led the Spartan offense with a 3-for-3 effort at the plate.

Sophomore second baseman Billy Fleming (Council Rock South) led West Virginia to a 6-3 win at Texas in 10 innings on Sunday afternoon. Fleming executed a hit-and-run with runners on first and second, delivering a base hit to give WVU the 4-3 lead in the top of the 10th inning. Fleming finished with three hits, one run, one RBI and a stolen base. In Friday’s 1-0 win over Texas on Friday night, Fleming led West Virginia with two hits, including a double in the third inning.

Bobby Reddick (North Penn) went six innings, allowing three hits and no runs while striking out 10 to lead Northampton to a 10-0 victory over Delaware County Community College on Tuesday.

Ryan Hernitzy (Council Rock North) drove in the game-winning run in both games of Lock Haven’s doubleheader sweep of PSAC Western Division leading California (Pa.) last Sunday. Henritzy hit a walk-off single in game one to give the Haven a 6-5 win. He was 2-for-3 in the game with two RBIs. In Lock Haven’s 2-1 win in game two, Henritzy plated the winning run on a bunt single in the sixth inning. Alec Jacob (Pennsbury) came in to pitch in the seventh with a runner on first and nailed down his first save of the season.

Tim Filer (Council Rock North) was 3-for-6 with one RBI in Lebanon Valley’s 11-6 loss to Arcadia on Sunday. In Wednesday’s 11-3 win over Valley Forge Christian, Filer was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Teammate Andrew DeCew (Pennridge) was 1-for-2 with an RBI. In Tuesday’s 6-5 loss to Delaware Valley, Filer went 3-for-3 with a walk. He also was hit by a pitch. DeCew contributed an RBI.

Jake Drossner (Council Rock North) threw seven scoreless innings in the University of Maryland’s 2-1 loss to Mt. St. Mary’s on Wednesday. The freshman turned in a career-best performance, shutting out The Mount on one hit while striking out seven.

Senior third baseman Jake Kohler (Upper Dublin) had two hits in Ursinus College’s 14-1 loss to Haverford on Tuesday.

Freshman Jesse Kohler (Upper Dublin) threw six innings in Oberlin College’s 7-0 loss to NCAC-leading Wooster on Saturday, allowing nine hits and seven runs (five earned) while walking four to go along with a career-high five strikeouts.

Senior Eric Ruth (North Penn) recorded his seventh save of the season with a scoreless eighth and ninth in Winthrop’s 5-3 win over Davidson on Tuesday night.

Mike Bradstreet (North Penn) struck out a career high 11 batters while recording his sixth win of the year in leading Rhode Island to a 3-0 win over Temple on Thursday. He allowed just four hits over 7.2 innings of work before being relieved in the eighth inning.

Joe Crane (Council Rock South) was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored in Chestnut Hills 20-6 win over Caldwell in game one of a twinbill on Sunday. Ray Puskar (Pennridge) had a pair of hits, including a double, with three RBIs and a run scored. Patrick Campion (Norristown) was 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Joe Mullin (Central Bucks South) was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. In Chestnut Hill’s 11-0 win in game two Sunday, Mullin was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored. Puskar had two hits, including a home run, with four RBIs and three runs scored, and Campion had a pair of hits, including a double, with two runs scored. Crane also had a double. In Wednesday’s 8-5 win over the University of the Sciences in game one of a doubleheader, Campion was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored while Crane had a hit and scored a run. In Chestnut Hill’s 10-6 loss in game two, Mullin was 2-for-3 with a double.

Brandon Bell (Norristown) had two hits and two runs scored and teammate Pete O’Hara (Council Rock North) was 2-for-3 in Delaware Valley’s 7-2 loss to Wilkes University in game two of a twinbill on Saturday. In a 2-0 loss to Wilkes in game one, O’Hara was 2-for-3. In Thursday’s 11-10 loss to Wilkes, Bell had two hits and two runs batted in. In Tuesday’s 6-5 win over Lebanon Valley, Bell had two hits while O’Hara added a double.

Dan Hinchcliff (North Penn) was 2-for-2 with a run scored in Catholic University’s 14-2 win over Susquehanna on Sunday. In Wednesday’s 11-3 loss to Bridgewater, Hinchcliff had a pair of hits.

Junior right-hander Keith Moyer (Souderton) got a groundout to third for the final out of East Stroudsburg’s 5-3 win over Bloomsburg on Sunday to earn his third save of the season.

Junior Greg Welsh (Council Rock South) earned the win in Penn State’s 7-4 win over Iowa on Sunday. Welsh threw 5.2 innings to earn his second win, allowing six hits and two earned runs with three strikeouts. He lowered his ERA to 3.13 for the season.

Eastern University junior Tyler Orr (Neshaminy) was named the Middle Atlantic Conference’s Freedom Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the week ending April 14. He is the first Eastern player to receive that recognition since April of 2010. The Neshaminy grad went 9-for-18 with three home runs, three doubles and 12 RBIs on the week. All three of his homers came in the critical weekend set with Wilkes. In Eastern’s come-from-behind win to take the series, Orr capped the weekend with a 3-for-3 day that included a solo shot to lead off the ninth inning. He also homered in his first at bat. In between his two homers, he had a single, was intentionally walked and also hit by a pitch. He also threw out a base runner trying to go from first to third on a single. Orr’s OPS (on base + slugging) for the week was over 1.700.
Orr collected a pair of hits and stretched his hitting streak to 10 games in Eastern University’s 7-2 loss to Immaculata on Tuesday. His hitting streak was snapped in Eastern’s 18-5 loss to Misericordia on Saturday.

Sophomore Craig Lepre (North Penn) had a double, RBI and two runs scored in Albany’s 10-9 come-from-behind win over Hartford in 12 innings on Sunday. Albany, which took two out of three in the weekend series, rallied from a 7-0 deficit to earn the win. Lepre - a catcher - gunned down a pair of runners late in the game. In Albany’s 8-6 win over St. John’s in a nationally broadcast contest on Tuesday, Lepre was 2-for-3.

Freshman Jeffrey Miller (Council Rock South) notched his first career victory, pitching four scoreless innings in relief in St. Peter’s 4-2 win over Rider on Saturday. In Sunday’s 4-2 loss to Rider, James Smith (North Penn) was 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Freshman Casey O’Donnell (Hatboro-Horsham) fanned a career-best 11 batters while scattering four hits over seven innings in Philadelphia University’s 1-0 win over Bloomfield on Saturday. O’Donnell retired 11 of 12 batters he faced from the first through the fourth. In Thursday’s 18-1 loss to the University of the Sciences, Ken McCormick (Pennsbury) had a triple. In Tuesday’s 11-6 win over No. 20 Wilmington (Del.) in the championship game of the Bill Giles Invitational at Citizens Bank Park, junior reliever Rob Spragis (Central Bucks South) came on in the seventh and threw two perfect innings. McCormick was 2-for-5 in the win.

Kristopher Davis (Central Bucks East) earned his fourth win of the season in Elizabethtown’s 8-6 win over Widener on Saturday. He struck out three in six innings. In Wednesday’s 15-3 win over Susquehanna, Ryan Schamp (Central Bucks West) had a pair of RBIs and scored two runs.

Michael Corrigan (William Tennent) contributed an RBI single in Penn State Abington’s 4-3 loss to Gallaudet on Saturday.

Freshman David Blount (Harry S Truman) scored a run and stole a base in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 4-1 loss to Keystone on Friday. In Tuesday’s 5-2 win over Arcadia, Ryan Downs (Council Rock South) had a pair of hits. In Gwynedd’s 5-4 win over Immaculata, Eric Heaney (Hatboro-Horsham) had two hits, including a triple, and scored twice.

David Pine (Council Rock North) was 1-for-2 with a run scored and RBI in Millersville’s 6-1 win over Mansfield on Saturday.

MEN’S BASKETBALL
Temple senior guard Khalif Wyatt (Norristown) was named the 2012-13 Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Year. Wyatt, who also is a member of the all-Big 5 first team, will be honored at the annual Big 5 banquet held at The Palestra on April 29 for leading the Big 5 in scoring. Wyatt, who led both the Atlantic 10 and Big 5 in scoring (20.5 ppg), is the 14th Temple player to be named Big 5 Player of the Year. His seven 30-point games tied Lynn Greer’s Temple single-season record set during the 2001-02 season, and his 204 free throws made broke the legendary Hal Lear’s single season record of 189 set during the 1955-56 campaign. The Norristown grad became the 12th Temple player to score 600 points in a season, and his 697 points ranks eighth on the Owls all-time single season list. He tallied 1,576 career points to rank 13th on the program’s all-time list. Wyatt also was honored at Temple’s Owls Club Annual Awards Banquet on April 15 where he picked up the top honor as he was named the recipient of the Jim Maloney Award, which is presented annually to the men’s basketball team’s MVP. Wyatt, the Player of the Year in the Atlantic 10, earned Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America status.
Villanova freshman guard Ryan Arcidiacono (Neshaminy) was named the Big Five’s Rookie of the Year. The Neshaminy grad averaged 11.9 ppg while starting all 34 games for the Wildcats.

WOMEN’S GOLF
Middlebury sophomore Jordan Glatt (Central Bucks East) led her team with a seventh place individual finish, shooting 81 and 80 at the Jack Leaman Women’s Championship in Amherst, Mass., this weekend. The first day was played at the par 74 Hickory Ridge Golf Club and the second day at the par 72 Orchards Golf Club. The Middlebury team placed third out of 12 teams with 64 golfers participating in the tournament.

MEN’S LACROSSE
Senior Joe Hughes (Plymouth Whitemarsh) contributed his first assist and also scored his first goal since the 2010 season at the 10:5 mark of the second half in No. 8 Cabrini’s 21-0 win at Neumann University on Thursday.

Shawn Caven (Pennsbury) was 7-for-19 on face offs in Ursinus College’s 11-5 win over McDaniel on Saturday.

Craig Hunsberger (Pennridge) contributed three goals and one assist and also had five ground balls in Elizabethtown’s 11-8 loss to Albright on Saturday. He also won 9-of-15 face offs.

Carmen Wiercinski (Hatboro-Horsham) netted his first collegiate goal in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 25-8 win over Rosemont on Monday.

Senior Johnny Casey (Abington) hit a milestone in No. 16 Widener’s 10-6 loss to No. 4 Stevenson on Saturday. The Abington graduate became the sixth player in school history to reach 200 career points when he scored his second goal. He also is fifth with 141 career goals and ninth with 61 assists. He finished the game with four goals. In Widener’s 10-9 overtime loss to Albright on Wednesday, Casey had a goal and assist.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Freshman attack Liz Mower (Souderton) had five goals, one assist and two ground balls in Philadelphia University’s 14-7 win over Wilmington (Del.) on Wednesday, a win that extended Philadelphia’s winning streak to seven. In Tuesday’s 9-6 win over Kutztown, Mower contributed two goals, two assists and one draw control.
Freshman Kelly Cross (Upper Dublin) contributed a goal, one ground ball and one draw control in No. 5 Syracuse’s 11-8 win over No. 7 Notre Dame on Thursday. Amy Cross (Upper Dublin) was credited with two ground balls and one caused turnover.
Madi Brunk (Cheltenham) scored a goal in Messiah College’s 15-12 win over Lebanon Valley on Friday.

Maggie Canavan (Springfield) scored four goals and Ashley Bossert (Wissahickon) had a pair of goals in Bloomsburg’s 15-3 win over Slippery Rock on Saturday. Aubrey Bossert (Wissahickon) had four draw controls while Carly Ball (North Penn) had four caused turnovers. In Friday’s 10-8 win over Edinboro, Canavan had two goals and one assist.

Sophomore defender Alyssa Oxenford (North Penn) had four ground balls and three draw controls in East Stroudsburg’s 13-9 loss to Slippery Rock on Friday.

Millersville sophomore Hannah Vogel (Hatboro-Horsham) was named the PSAC Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 14. Vogel scored 10 goals last week, including a career-best seven in Millersville’s 21-15 win against East Stroudsburg. She finished the week with 10 goals on 11 shots and collected nine ground balls, 12 draw controls and seven caused turnovers. The 12 draw controls were the second most this season over a two-game period for the sophomore. Vogel started the week by recording a hat trick in a 15-11 win over Kutztown. It was Vogel’s sixth game scoring three or more goals. The midfielder is second on the team with 35 goals this season. Since 2008, only four other players have scored more goals in a season than Vogel’s 35 this year.

Lauren Mateja (Upper Merion) recorded nine saves in Millersville’s 11-7 loss to No. 15 Mercyhurst on Saturday. In Friday’s 20-8 loss to Gannon, Mateja recorded her sixth double-digit save effort with 10 stopped shots. Vogel scored a pair of goals. In Millersville’s 27-14 win over Shepherd on Monday, Vogel scored five goals. Mateja recorded nine saves in the win and eclipsed the 100-save mark for the second straight season. She is now only the third Marauder in 10 years to notch triple-digit save seasons in back-to-back years.

Kelly Hamilton (Central Bucks South) and Lindsay Walbrandt (Souderton) both scored a goal in No. 8 Lock Haven’s 11-6 win over No. 5 West Chester on Sunday.

Senior Lauren McDermott (North Penn) scored four goals in La Salle’s 15-10 win over St. Bonaventure in its season finale on Sunday.

Tori Kimberly (Central Bucks West) posted six points on four goals and two assists in Penn State Abington’s 12-7 win over Saint Elizabeth on Saturday. Kate Schalck (William Tennent) added a game-high five caused turnovers and a ground ball. In Wednesday’s 14-11 loss to Lancaster Bible, Kimberly had one goal and two assists.

Alex Casey (Abington) had a game-high three caused turnovers in #20 Washington College’s 16-9 loss to #5 Gettysburg on Saturday.

Senior midfielder Elizabeth Chatburn (Upper Dublin) was credited with an assist in Ursinus College’s 18-6 loss to Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday.

Sophomore Dani Horn (North Penn) scored two goals in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 17-6 loss to King’s College on Thursday. In Tuesday’s 15-14 overtime loss to Centenary, Horn scored a game-high seven goals with the final goal giving Gwynedd a late lead with just 1:48 to play.

Sophomore Caitlin Carrezola (Neshaminy) picked up a game-high five ground balls and also had one caused turnover on the defensive end in Holy Family’s 20-4 win over Chestnut Hill College on Wednesday. In last Sunday’s 17-7 win at Post, sophomore Kimber Kisselback (Neshaminy) led the team with four ground balls to go along with one caused turnover on the defensive end.

Freshman Ally Frymoyer (Upper Merion) was credited with 12 saves in goal in Shippensburg’s 13-8 win over Gannon on Saturday. The Upper Merion grad stopped all five of Gannon’s shots on free positions. The win was the first over Gannon since 1997. Senior Roxanne Brown (Pennridge) had an assist, four ground balls, a caused turnover and a draw control. In Friday’s 11-7 loss to No. 15 Mercyhurst, Brown had a goal while Frymoyer was credited with 10 saves in goal.

Julia Kudla (Souderton) had a team-high eight points in Lake Erie College’s 15-9 win over Tiffin on Sunday. The Souderton alum contributed three goals and five assists while also collecting six draw controls. In Friday’s 24-12 win over Findlay, Kudla had three goals and four assists. In Tuesday’s 21-14 loss to Gannon, Kudla had five goals and three assists while collecting eight draw controls and seven ground balls.

SOFTBALL
Freshman Haileigh Stocks (Central Bucks South) contributed her sixth double of the year in Robert Morris University’s 1-0 win over LIU Brooklyn on Saturday in game one of a twinbill. In Tuesday’s 6-4 come-from-behind win over Saint Francis in the nightcap of a twinbill, Stocks hit a tie-breaking grand slam with two outs in the seventh inning to propel Robert Morris to the dramatic win. Stocks went a combined 4-for-8 on the day with two home runs, six RBIs and three runs scored. She tallied the first three-hit game of her career in the opener and had multiple RBIs in both games. Stocks’ team-leading sixth home run, which proved to be the margin of victory, was the second grand slam of the rookie’s season.

D’Anna Devine (Pennsbury) went 2-for-2 with a pair of walks in the University of South Florida’s 3-0 win over DePaul on Saturday.

Lehigh freshman third baseman Morgan Decker (Central Bucks South) was named Patriot League Player of the Week for the week ending April 14. Decker enjoyed another impressive week at the plate for the Mountain Hawks, who went 5-1 last week, sweeping a doubleheader at Fordham before returning home to win three of four games against Patriot League rival Army. Decker batted .536 overall last week and was 9-for-13 over the last five of those games. The CB South grad went 2-for-3 in the game two win over the Rams with a three-run home run that gave the Mountain Hawks a 5-1 lead. She added a seventh-inning RBI single to set a career high with four runs batted in. In the four-game series against Army, Decker went 7-for-10. She hit her team-leading fifth home run of the season and scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh in Lehigh’s 6-5 game one victory. Decker went 3-for-5 with three doubles in Sunday’s twinbill as she slugged 1.125 for the week. She also drew four walks and was hit by two pitches as she boasted an impressive .682 on-base percentage. As a result of her strong week at the plate, Decker increased her batting average to a Patriot League-leading .412. She is tied with senior Liz Lucas for the league lead with 13 doubles and leads the Patriot League with 31 runs batted in. The award is the third of the season for Decker, who was named Rookie of the Week on March 4 and Player of the Week on April 1.

Freshman Lauren Klepchick (Central Bucks South) singled twice in Rhode Island’s 9-1 loss to George Washington on Saturday. It was her fifth two-hit game of the season. Over the last 20 games, Klepchick has raised her batting average by 55 points. In URI’s 11-2 loss to UConn on Wednesday, Klepchick singled and walked. It marked her seventh straight game she reached base safely. In Tuesday’s 6-2 loss to Providence, Klepchick had a strong defensive game at third base, recording five assists and one putout.

Mary Ward (North Penn) delivered a two-run home run in the fifth inning to help propel IUP to a 5-4 come-from-behind win over Wheeling Jesuit on Tuesday.

Alyssa Virginio (Central Bucks South) was 2-for-3 with a run scored in Penn State Abington’s 3-0 win over Wilson in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday. In the Nittany Lions’ 6-0 win in game two, Virginio was 1-for-2 with a double, RBI and run scored. In Tuesday’s 9-1 win over the College of Saint Elizabeth in game one of a twinbill, Virginio was 1-for-2 with a run scored, and teammate Nicole Battaglio (Upper Merion) was 1-for-2 with an RBI. In the Nittany Lions 6-5 win in eight innings in game two, Battaglio was 2-for-3 with an RBI while Virginio also had a hit.

Katelyn Donald (North Penn) was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in Eastern University’s 6-4 win over Arcadia on Thursday.

Liz Decembrino (Pennsbury) had one of her team’s six base hits in Hood College’s 10-2 loss to Lebanon Valley on Wednesday.

Justyna Pepkowski (Quakertown) improved to 2-0 on the season, tossing three innings and allowing just two hits in Elizabethtown’s 5-4 win over Lycoming in nine innings on Saturday. In last Sunday’s 2-0 win over Ursinus, Pepkowski earned her first save of the season, tossing two hitless innings in relief.

Devon Utterback (Central Bucks South) earned the win in West Chester’s 4-2 win in 10 innings over Shippensburg in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. The CB South alum tossed all 10 innings, allowing eight hits while walking three and fanning six. Jessica Schuck (Council Rock South) contributed an RBI while teammate Megan Kelly (Hatboro-Horsham) scored a pair of runs. Utterback earned the win in relief in West Chester’s 8-4 win in eight innings, allowing three hits and one run in 2.2 innings. Kelly led the offense with a 2-for-4 day that included a double, three RBIs and two runs scored. Erin Quense (Neshaminy) was 2-for-4 with a double, and Ali Vavala (Central Bucks East) was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Schuck and Laura Altenburger (Neshaminy) both hit doubles. In Saturday’s 4-1 win over No. 8 Cal, Vavala was 2-for-3 with an RBI.  In Monday’s 5-3 loss to University of the Sciences, Quense hit her team-leading third home run of the season, a two-run home run in the fourth inning. Schuck hit an RBI single in the fifth.

Senior Emilia Cantrell (Central Bucks East) had two hits in Philadelphia University’s 3-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas in game one of a twinbill on Sunday. In Philadelphia’s 8-0 win in game two, Cantrell was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. In Saturday’s 11-4 loss to Dominican, freshman Mollie Burrell (Souderton) had a two-run single. In Tuesday’s 7-3 win over Goldey-Beacom in game one of a doubleheader, Cantrell gave her team a 4-0 lead with a grand slam in the second inning. It was her third home run of the season. She also had a triple in the game. In Philadelphia’s 10-2 win over Goldey-Beacom in game two, Burrell drove in the game-ending run with a single. In last Sunday’s 16-6 win over Felician in game two of a doubleheader sweep, Cantrell posted three hits. In Philadelphia’s 3-1 win in game one, Cantrell had a pair of hits.

Stephanie Kulp (North Penn) had a career day at the plate in Millersville’s 7-2 win over Mercyhurst in game one of a doubleheader on Sunday. The North Penn grad was 3-for-4 with a home run and five RBIs. Her three-run shot put the Marauders on top 3-1. It was her team-leading fifth homer of the year. Danielle DiFilippo (Hatboro-Horsham) contributed an RBI single. In Friday’s 1-0 win over Kutztown in game one of a doubleheader, DiFilippo picked up an offense that managed just six hits, finishing the game 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. She knocked in the game-winning run in the top of the seventh inning. In Millersville’s 5-2 loss in game two, Gabbie Berry (Norristown) had a pair of hits. In Wednesday’s 4-2 win over University of the Sciences in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Berry had a pair of hits. In Millersville’s 5-1 win in game two, Kulp contributed an RBI double and scored a run. DiFilippo had two hits.

Stephanie Farrar (North Penn) went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 12-4 win over Baptist Bible on Friday. In Wednesday’s 7-5 win over Keystone, Farrar went 2-for-4 with two runs scored,

Deanna Dungee (North Penn) went the distance to earn her 17th win over the season in Alvernia’s 16-7 win over Albright on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Neumann, Dungee went the full seven innings to earn the win, allowing just four hits to record his 16th win and seventh shutout of the season.

Senior Lindsey Iden (Council Rock North) contributed an RBI single while teammate Deanna Myers (William Tennent) also had a single in Holy Family’s 10-5 loss to Georgian Court on Tuesday in game one of a twinbill. In Holy Family’s 3-0 loss to Georgian court in game two, junior Rachael Alligood (Harry S Truman) pitched 5.2 inning in life, scattering five hits and striking out three.

Kelly Hendrickson (William Tennent) tossed a two-hit shutout in Cairn University’s 7-0 win over Valley Forge Christian on Wednesday, striking out eight on her way to her third win of the season and her second career shutout. Ashley Mitchell (Pennsbury) contributed a hit. In Cairn University’s 6-4 win in game two of the twinbill, Hendrickson had a pair of hits while Mitchell had one hit.

Alexandra Schafer (Pennsbury) was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI in Arcadia’s 8-0 win over Eastern College on Thursday.

Casey McGill (Upper Merion) had one of her team’s two hits in Green Mountain’s 10-0 loss to Johnson State on Friday.

MEN'S TENNIS
Sophomore Brandon Blachowski (Council Rock North) was named Freedom Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week. Blachowski was strong in the Wilkes lineup all week competing at No. 6/4 singles and No. 3 doubles. He went 3-0 in singles matches and teamed with Clarke Freeman to go 2-0 at No. 3 doubles. He opened the week with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 6 against King's and followed with a straight set winner (6-0, 6-1) at No. 4 singles against Stevenson. Blachowski was the lone singles winner against NYU, claiming a 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 victory at No. 6 against the Violets. "I am so excited for Brandon to win this award as he is such a hard-working and dedicated member of the team," coach Chris Leicht said in a news release announcing Blachowski's selection. "Brendon has always been a very strong doubles player and has combined with (Clarke) Freeman at No. 3 to make a formidable team. Also, Brendon has improved his singles game this year having an amazing week of tennis, highlighted by his big wins in doubles and singles over NYU."

MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Junior Jonathan Eisemann (Central Bucks South) was part of St. Joseph University’s 4x100 relay that missed the IC4A qualifying mark by just .48 seconds with a time of 42.98 at Princeton’s Larry Ellis Invitational this weekend. Junior Tyler Dougherty (Central Bucks South) was part of the 4x400 relay that finished fourth with a time of 3:30.07.

Michael Spadaro (Council Rock South) of Johns Hopkins finished third overall in the decathlon with 5,489 points at the Mount Multi’s held at Mount St. Mary’s last week. His 5,489 points is a career best as he achieved strong marks in the shot put, discus and javelin in windy conditions. After day one, Spadaro was in second place with 3,102 points in the field of 10 competitors.

Junior Dan Dreeman (Council Rock South) was part of Shippensburg’s first place 4x800 relay that posted a time of 7:38.82 at the 2013 Bison Outdoor Classic, finishing within striking distance of the 23-year-old school record. Dreeman also finished sixth in the 800 meter run with a PSAC qualifying time of 1:52.60.

Luke Rotenberger (Quakertown) was part of Elizabethtown’s 4x400 relay team that finished third out of 11 teams on Saturday at the Widener Invitational, posting a time of 3:28.23.

IUP’s Tim Lynch (Souderton) posted a PSAC qualifying time in the 3000 steeplechase (9:49.89) at the Bucknell Classic on Saturday.

WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
St. Joseph University sophomore Kayla Charles (North Penn) won the 100 hurdles at the Widener Invitational this weekend. Charles picked up a win in the 100H with a personal record and season-leading time of 14.60. She was just .11 seconds shy of a new SJU record in the event. Charles also took eighth in the 400 hurdles (1:07.6.).

Elizabethtown’s Ashley Underkofler (Central Bucks South) posted a time of 2:21.79 in the 800-meter run on Saturday to place in the top 20 at Saturday’s Widener Invitational.

Shippensburg senior Caitlin Stuetz (Cheltenham) ran a NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 400-meter hurdles last Sunday at the 2013 Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell. Stuetz ran a season PR of 1:02.35, putting her atop the PSAC rankings. She finished second overall, and Stuetz also finished in a tie for second in the 100-meter hurdles, posting a PSAC qualifying time of 14.55. In addition, Stuetz ran the second leg of the 4x400 relay that also became the conference’s pacesetter, posting a time of 3:52.57 to capture second place. Monique Clemons (Wissahickon) also was part of the 4x400 relay and was part of Shippensburg’s fourth place 4x100 relay that posted a time of 48.07. Clemons posted a PSAC qualifying time in the 200-meter dash (25.82).
