BASEBALL
Junior second baseman Billy Fleming (Council Rock South) had a pair of hits and two RBIs in West Virginia’s 6-1 win over Kansas State Sunday, a win that completed the season sweep of the Wildcats. In Saturday’s 6-5 win over Kansas State, Fleming capped a three-run ninth inning with a walk-off fielder’s choice. The Rock South grad also had a double and scored a run. In Friday’s 10-1 win over Kansas State, Fleming had two hits and two RBIs.

David Blount (Harry S Truman) delivered an RBI single in the seventh to force extra innings in Gwynedd Mercy’s 3-2 win in eight innings over Marywood on Sunday in game two of a doubleheader. In Gwynedd’s 4-1 win over Marywood in game one, Christopher Hens (Hatboro-Horsham) had a pair of hits and also scored a run. In Monday’s 17-4 loss to Rowan, Hens had an RBI double and finished with two hits.

Ryan Henritzy (Council Rock North) hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull his team to within one in game two of Saturday’s twinbill against Shippensburg, but the Red Raiders held on for a 6-5 win. Henritzy was 2-for-3 with a home run, double and two RBIs. In Friday’s 3-0 loss to Shippensburg, Henritzy had one of his team’s four hits.

Brandon Martinez (North Penn) was 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and one run scored in Kutztown’s 5-3 win over East Stroudsburg in game two of a twinbill Saturday. After entering the game in the field in the fifth, junior Warren Stimpson (Wissahickon) had one of his top moments as a Golden Bear when – with one out and the bases empty – he hit a home run over the left field wall to extend Kutztown’s lead to 5-3. It was his first home run of the season. In Friday’s 4-3 win over East Stroudsburg, Martinez was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and a stolen base. In Thursday’s 15-4 loss to Wilmington University, Martinez stole his 31st base of the season, breaking the 31-year-old school record for stolen bases that had been set in 1983. This season Martinez is 31-for-32 in stolen base attempts to tie him for 15th in the PSAC record books. The PSAC record is 45. He has stolen a base in 21 games this season and has nine multi-steal games, including a three-steal game against Bloomfield. For his career, Martinez has swiped 53 bags to tie him for third in the career record books. Matt Matricardi (Upper Dublin) pitched the final two innings and did not allow an earned run while striking out three. Clay Sebesky (Central Bucks East) drove in a run in the eighth inning.

Moravian junior outfielder Matt Hanson (Central Bucks West) was named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week and also earned a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for the week ending April 20. It is the third time in four weeks Hanson earned Landmark Player of the Week honors. The CB West alum hit .571 with eight hits in 14 at-bats, and he scored seven times and drove in seven more runs. Hanson had a double and a homer for a .857 slugging percentage, and he also drew two walks for a .684 on-base percentage to go with two stolen bases. Hanson opened the week with a 1-for-4 performance in Moravian’s 8-1 win over then No. 6 Kean. He was 1-for-2 with two runs in an 8-1 victory at DeSales. Hanson finished the week with a 6-for-8 performance in the doubleheader sweep of Scranton that also included four runs, six RBIs, a double and his team-leading second homer of the year. “Matt has been playing extremely well all year,” said head coach Paul Engelhardt. “Right now, he is probably the best player in our conference, and we hope he can continue to lead us offensively.”
Hanson and teammate Daniel Seitzinger (Central Bucks West) were both 2-for-3 with two runs scored in No. 21 Moravian’s 14-8 loss to Alvernia on Wednesday. Hanson also had one RBI. In Tuesday’s 13-8 win over Neumann, Hanson was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and four runs scored. In Monday’s 9-3 loss to Scranton in a game the Greyhounds have protested, Seitzinger picked up his 100th career hit in the top of the fourth inning. He became the 26th player in school history and fourth member of the current roster to hit the milestone. Hanson was 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs.

Senior designated hitter Joseph Mullin (Central Bucks South) was 2-for-3 with two two-run doubles in Chestnut Hill’s 13-6 win over Philadelphia University on Thursday. In Wednesday’s 8-5 win over Kutztown, freshman Austin DiBonaventure (Plymouth Whitemarsh) threw a scoreless inning in relief.

Ryan Kelly (Hatboro-Horsham) earned the win in St. Joe’s 7-6 win over Villanova on Wednesday, improving to 2-2 on the season.

Tim Filer (Council Rock North) was 3-for-3 with three RBIs in Lebanon Valley’s 8-5 win over Elizabethtown in game two of a doubleheader split on Saturday. With the win, Lebanon Valley clinched a spot in the Commonwealth Conference Championship Tournament.

Robert Knox (Upper Moreland) was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored and teammates Tyler Coleman (Quakertown) was 2-for-4 with a run scored in West Chester’s 8-7 loss in eight innings to Millersville on Friday.

Rightfielder Ken McCormick (Pennsbury) contributed an RBI double and finished the game 2-for-3 in Philadelphia University’s 4-1 win over Nyack in game one of a doubleheader sweep Saturday.

Dylan Tice (Pennridge) was 4-for-7 with a double, two home runs, seven RBIs and six runs scored in IUP’s doubleheader sweep of Clarion on Saturday (22-4, 17-3).

Brandon Bell (Norristown) was 2-for-3 with a run scored while teammates Pete O’Hara (Council Rock North) and Kyle Wenger (Souderton) each collected a hit in Delaware Valley’s 7-2 loss to DeSales in game one of a twinbill on Saturday. In game two – also a 7-2 loss, Wenger was 1-for-2 with a run scored. In Del Val’s 13-5 loss to DeSales on Friday, Wenger hit a three-run home run and finished the game 3-for-5 with a run scored. Freshman Bobby Altieri (Norristown) contributed an RBI double. In Tuesday’s 11-11 tie with Albright in a game halted after nine innings because of darkness, Bell led the Aggies’ 17-hit attack by going 4-for-6 with two runs scored and one RBI. Wenger was 3-for-3 with two doubles and three runs scored, and Altieri had two hits and scored two runs.

Freshman Brady West (North Penn) had two hits and stole a pair of bases in Bloomsburg’s 9-1 loss to Philadelphia University in game one of a twinbill on Sunday. In Saturday’s 6-5 win in game one of a twinbill split with Mansfield Saturday, Pete Edgar (North Penn) worked a walk on a full count to lead off the bottom of the seventh. He stole second and then came home with the winning run, scoring on an errant throw on a sacrifice bunt. West was 2-for-3 with an RBI, run scored and stolen base. Jared Schaffer (Pennridge) threw 1.2 innings in relief, allowing one run on two hits. In Bloomsburg’s 7-4 win over Mansfield in game one of a doubleheader sweep Friday, West was 2-for-4 with one RBI and a run scored. In Bloomsburg’s 8-3 win in game two, West was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.
Dan Hinchcliff (North Penn) had a pair of hits in the Catholic University’s 4-2 loss to Susquehanna in Saturday’s doubleheader split.

Craig Lepre (North Penn) was 2-for-5 with two RBIs in Albany’s 12-9 loss to Hartford last Sunday.

Ben Hauser (Central Bucks East) contributed a single in a two-run seventh to break an 8-8 tie and propel Northampton to a 10-8 win over Lehigh Carbon on Wednesday.

Matt Hollenbeck (Hatboro-Horsham) pitched a scoreless inning of relief in Georgetown’s 7-2 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore in game two of a doubleheader sweep on Tuesday.

Tom Kreiling (Neshaminy) was 3-for-3 with an RBI in Penn State Abington’s 8-6 win over Cazenovia in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday. Senior pitcher Brian Camp (Cheltenham) threw 1.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn the save. He did not allow a hit. In the Nittany Lions’ 3-2 win in the nightcap, Kreiling was 1-for-3.  In Wednesday’s 6-4 loss in 10 innings to Widener, Kreiling had a pair of hits. Camp and two of his teammates combined to allow just four hits over seven innings.

Andrew Check (Central Bucks West) was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored in Eastern University’s 11-2 win over Manhattanville in game two of a doubleheader on Saturday. Tyler Orr (Neshaminy) had a double, two RBIs and one run. In Friday’s 17-13 loss to Manhattanville, Orr was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Check had a hit, RBI and run scored. In Wednesday’s 21-18 win over Lebanon Valley, Orr was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a run and Check was 2-for-6 with three runs scored. Check also threw a scoreless inning in relief to close out the slugfest.

Greg McDonough (Wissahickon) singled and scored a run in Widener’s 6-4 win in 10 innings over Penn State Abington on Wednesday.

MEN’S BASKETBALL
Temple senior guard Dalton Pepper (Pennsbury) was selected to compete at the 2014 Portsmouth Invitational. The tournament took place April 16-19. For the past 61 years, the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament has invited 64 of the best college basketball seniors from across the nation to participate in the four-day, 12-game tournament in front of representatives from every NBA team. Pepper led the Owls in scoring at 17.5 points, three-pointers made (84) and percentage (.375) per game and minutes played (1171, 37.5 per game). He also ranked second in assists (74) and steals (32). The Owls’ lone senior was named second team all-Philadelphia Big 5 this season and made 61 of 70 attempts from the free throw line for an 87.1 percentage to lead all Big 5 players. Pepper is the first Temple player to make a three-pointer in every game during a season and also had the third best scoring improvement among Division One players, increasing his average 14.6 ppg. from his junior to senior season.

MEN’S LACROSSE
Junior Anthony Greco (Abington) was credited with five grounds balls and freshman goalie Austin Marshall (Neshaminy) combined with two teammates to record eight saves in No. 5 Cabrini’s 26-3 win over Centenary College on Thursday. The win improved the Blue and White to 14-1 on the season and 6-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

Senior Shawn Caven (Pennsbury) was 14-for-17 on face-offs and also had seven ground balls in Ursinus College’s 9-6 win over Haverford on Wednesday.

Joe Palo (Hatboro-Horsham) won 13-of-15 draws in the first half and 14-of-16 overall in Eastern University’s 20-3 win over DeSales on Saturday.

Craig Hunsburger (Pennridge) contributed a goal and assist in his final collegiate game in Elizabethtown’s 12-7 loss to Widener on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 10-2 win over Hood, Hunsberger was credited with two caused turnovers.

Sophomore attackman Parker Self (Central Bucks East) recorded his first collegiate goal in St. Joe’s 15-8 win over Hobart on Saturday.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Amy Cross (Upper Dublin) connected for her fourth goal of the tournament at the 7:20 mark of the second half to give No.1/2 Syracuse a lead for good in the Orange’s 9-7 win over No. 4 North Carolina in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament on Saturday. In Sunday’s title game, Syracuse fell to No. 2/1 Maryland 13-7. In Thursday’s 16-11 win over Notre Dame in the opening round of the tournament, Cross connected for the hat trick while Kelly Cross (Upper Dublin) added a single goal.

Philadelphia University sophomore midfielder Liz Mower (Souderton) was named to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) first team. Despite playing in just eight games due to illness, Mower was on the all-CACC first team for the second straight season. The Souderton grad – the CACC Player of the Week on March 24 – managed to rack up 26 goals, 21 assists and 30 draw controls. She is fifth in the conference in assists and 11th in points (47).
Mower, playing in her first game since March 27, had a match-high seven points (two goals, five assists) in Philadelphia University’s 21-11 win over Dominican (N.Y.) in Saturday’s CACC semifinal match. In Sunday’s 18-14 win over Holy Family in the CACC title game, Mower had one goal, one assist and three draw controls. She was named to the CACC Tournament team. In Tuesday’s 21-9 win over Wilmington (Del.), freshman midfielder Alyssa Matthews (Pennsbury) scored a goal.

Madi Brunk (Cheltenham) scored three goals in Messiah College’s 19-14 win over Alvernia on Saturday. The Falcons will be the No. 1 seed in next week’s postseason Commonwealth Conference tournament. In Tuesday’s 14-8 win over Stevenson University, Brunk had three goals and an assist.

Nicole Beck (Hatboro-Horsham) contributed an assist in Cal-Berkeley’s 7-6 win over Colorado last Sunday.

Ashley Bossert (Wissahickon) had one goal, two assists and two ground balls while Aubrey Bossert (Wissahickon) had two goals and four draw controls in Bloomsburg’s 17-5 win over Millersville on Saturday. Carly Ball (North Penn) had three draw controls.  The Bossert twins – the lone seniors on the squad – were recognized before the game. Entering Saturday’s game, Aubrey has 46 goals and five assists in 69 career games while Ashley has recorded 56 goals and 25 assists in 68 career games.  In Wednesday’s 14-9 loss to nationally-ranked IUP, Ashley Bossert had two goals, and Aubrey had two goals and three draw controls. Ball led the defense with three caused turnovers.

Hannah Vogel (Hatboro-Horsham) contributed the hat track and teammate Jaime Damirgian (Council Rock South) added a goal in Millersville’s 8-7 loss to Shippensburg on Wednesday. Goalie Kaitlin Crouthamel (Souderton) was credited with nine saves.

Senior Brittany Hanrahan (North Penn) led St. Joseph’s defense this season with 38 ground balls. The North Penn grad played her final collegiate game on Sunday when St. Joe’s fell to George Washington 14-10.

Sophomore Ally Frymoyer (Upper Merion) turned away seven shots in Shippensburg’s 18-6 loss to No. 10 Mercyhurst on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 8-7 come-from-behind win over Millersville, Frymoyer was credited with 13 saves, including nine in the first half. She posted a career-best .650 save percentage – topping her previous single-game best of .500 set earlier this season in a 10-7 loss at No. 3 Limestone on March 17 in which she also set a career high with 17 saves. Junior Garrie Grenfell (North Penn) was credited with an assist.

Senior Amy Powell (Plymouth Whitemarsh) tied a career high with six goals in Gwynedd Mercy’s 20-11 win over Cedar Crest on Tuesday.

Holy Family junior Kimber Kisselback (Neshaminy) earned All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference second team honors for the 2014 season. It is her first All-CACC honor after compiling a career season for the Tigers. Kisselback totaled career highs in ground balls (38), draw controls (21), caused turnovers (19) and goals (2). She helped the Tigers’ defense limit opponents to 11.80 goals per game, fifth best in the conference. In 50 career games, Kisselback has picked up 72 ground balls, ranking 10th all-time in program history. Her 32 caused turnovers ranks seventh all-time.
Kisselback recorded four ground balls, three draws and caused one turnovers in Holy Family’s 24-10 win over Chestnut Hill on Tuesday to clinch a spot in the upcoming Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference tournament.

Kelly Hamilton (Central Bucks South) scored five goals in No. 7 Lock Haven’s 25-6 win over Slippery Rock on Saturday, allowing the Lady Eagles to claim the PSAC regular season title. Melinda Wojt (Souderton) was credited with three ground balls and two caused turnovers to lead the defense. It is Lock Haven’s third straight PSAC regular season crown. Lock Haven closed out the regular season on a 13-game winning streak after starting the season 2-2. In Wednesday’s 17-0 win over Kutztown, Hamilton recorded a hat trick.

Senior Lauren Purvis (Hatboro-Horsham), who leads the American Lacrosse Conference (ALC) in caused turnovers per game, secured a game high four caused turnovers in No. 8/12 Penn State’s 13-12 win over No. 19 Princeton on Saturday in front of 1,621 fans at the Penn State Lacrosse Field, the most for a women’s lacrosse game at the facility.

Goalie Kelly Schlupp (Council Rock South) was credited with four saves in The College of New Jersey’s 18-8 win over Kean University on Saturday. With the win, TCNJ completed a perfect conference slate. In Thursday’s 19-5 win over Cabrini, Schlupp picked up four saves to record her 13th win of the season.

SOFTBALL   
Lafayette pitcher/first baseman Kristyn Marinelli (Central Bucks South) is one of two freshmen to have started in all of the team’s 42 games. The CB South alum is at or near the top of the Patriot League in doubles (nine), putouts (221) and chances (240). She boasts a fielding average of .983. In Tuesday’s doubleheader sweep of Rider (6-2, 5-4), she contributed three hits with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored. In the Leopards’ two wins at Villanova on Wednesday, Marinelli singled in the 5-2 win in the first game while playing first base. In the second game, she started on the mound and combined with two other pitchers for an 8-4 win, allowing two runs and three hits over five innings. Marinelli singled and scored a run to complete the sweep over Villanova. In Sunday' 2-1 loss in nine innings to Boston U in game one of a doubleheader, Marinelli doubled. In the Leopards' 3-1 loss to BU in game two, Marinelli hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to knot the score 1-1.

Allison Herbert (Hatboro-Horsham) threw five shutout innings to earn the win in King’s 8-0 win over Keystone in game one of a doubleheader sweep Thursday. The Hatboro grad fanned five and walked none.

Senior Brittany Devlin (Central Bucks East) went 1-for-1 with an RBI in Susquehanna’s 6-2 win over Drew in game one of a twinbill on Saturday. The RBI placed her in a tie for the most all-time in Susquehanna history with 83. Morgan Lewis (Council Rock North) tossed a complete game, scattering six hits over seven innings with 10 strikeouts and just one walk as she picked up her 11th win of the spring. In Tuesday’s 10-5 loss to Gettysburg, Devlin was 2-for-2 with a run scored while Lauren Creamer (Neshaminy) contributed an RBI single.

Maggie Shaffer (Hatboro-Horsham) collected her 11th complete game victory of the season and her third shutout in Guilford’s 9-0 win over Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday on day two of the ODAC Tournament. The sophomore pitcher bounced back twice after Lynchburg placed runners in scoring position in each of the first two innings. Shaffer retired the Hornets in the first inning with a pop fly and strikeout to strand runners in scoring position. In the second, Lynchburg threatened again with runners in scoring position with two outs before Shaffer induced a groundout to end the inning. She gave up two hits in the final four innings of the game to preserve the shutout. Guilford saw its winningest season in program history come to an end Sunday when the Quakers dropped the final elimination game of the ODAC Tournament to fourth-seeded Randolph-Macon College, 9-7. Shaffer absorbed the loss on the mound. The Quakers closed the 2014 season with a 29-15 record. On day one of the ODAC Tournament Friday, Shaffer earned the win in Guilford’s 11-3 win over Randolph-Macon, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out five. In Wednesday’s doubleheader against Randolph-Macon to close out the regular season, Shaffer earned the win in game one of the twinbill (9-1), striking out six while walking two in her second consecutive one-hitter. She added one RBI for the game’s first run after being hit by a pitch. She scored three runs.

Justyna Pepkowski (Quakertown) threw the final 2.2 innings of scoreless relief and notched her first save of the season in Elizabethtown’s 7-2 win over Lycoming in game two of a twinbill on Saturday. She did not allow a hit.

Tiffany Gower (North Penn) threw a complete game win in Cairn University’s 3-1 win over Notre Dame (Md.) in the first game of a twinbill Saturday. The North Penn grad allowed five hits and one run in seven innings while fanning five. She allowed just two hits after the second inning. It was her seventh win of the season.

Freshman pitcher Nicole Casagrand (Hatboro-Horsham) tossed a four-hit shutout to lead UMBC to a 4-0 win over La Salle in game two of a doubleheader split on Tuesday. She walked two and struck out one. In Sunday's 5-4 win over Hartford, Casagrand earned the complete game win, allowing eight hits and two earned runs while striking out two and walking none. The freshman pitcher is 6-3 on the season. 

Freshman Emily Wrenn (Hatboro-Horsham) picked up her 10th career win in Penn State Abington’s 10-0 win over Lancaster Bible in game two of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. In Thursday’s 10-2 win over Gallaudet in game two of a twinbill sweep on Thursday, Wren earned the win, allowing two runs on three hits in six innings while striking out four. Nicole Battaglio (Upper Merion) was 2-for-2 with a double, RBI and run scored while Danielle Jones (Harry S Truman) contributed a hit and RBI. In Tuesday’ 9-1 win in game one of a doubleheader sweep over Delaware Valley, Battaglio was 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored while Jones was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. In the Nittany Lions’ 15-2 win over the Aggies in game two, Jones was 4-for-4 with a double, RBI, two runs and a stolen base. Battaglio was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Christina Bascara (Pennsbury) was 2-for-3 with a home run in La Salle’s 11-2 loss to Fordham on Saturday.

Chelsea Edwards (Hatboro-Horsham) drove in the game-winning run with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning, propelling Lock Haven to a 6-5 win over IUP in game two of a doubleheader sweep. The Hatboro grad finished the game with two hits, including a double, and three RBIs. In Lock Haven’s 3-0 win over IUP in game one, freshman Michelle Holweger (North Penn) doubled and drove in a run.

Freshman Ally Horvath (Central Bucks South) contributed a three-run triple and finished the game 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs in Widener’s 8-5 win over Neumann in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday.

Laura Altenburger (Neshaminy) was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs to lead West Chester to a 3-0 win over the University of the Sciences in game one of a doubleheader sweep Tuesday. Jess Schuck (Council Rock South) contributed a double, and Megan Kelly (Hatboro-Horsham) also had a hit. In the Golden Rams’ 7-0 win in game two on Tuesday, Schuck was 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Erin Quense (Neshaminy) was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Kim Begley (Abington) was 1-for-2.

MaryKate Ballerino (Hatboro-Horsham) and Alexis Deal (Council Rock South) both contributed RBI triples in Gwynedd Mercy’s 5-4 loss to Marywood in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday. Stephanie Farrar (North Penn) had a pair of hits. In Gwynedd’s 1-0 loss to Cairn in game one of a doubleheader Friday, freshman Nikki Canfield (Souderton) had two of her team’s three hits, going 2-for-3 with a pair of stolen bases. In Gwynedd’s 2-0 win in game two, Farrar was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles. In Wednesday’s 5-3 win over Baptist Bible in game one of a twinbill, Deal had an RBI single. In Gwynedd’s 9-4 win over Baptist Bible in game two, Farrar finished with two hits, including a triple, and also scored a run. In Monday’s 7-4 loss to Cabrini, Farrar had two hits.

Julie Wambold (Hatboro-Horsham) doubled and scored a run in Syracuse’s 5-4 win in eight innings over Virginia Tech on Saturday to clinch a berth in the ACC Tournament. In Thursday’s 8-0 win over Canisius in a twinbill split, Wambold homered and drove in three runs.

Dominique Pinto (Council Rock South) was 1-for-2 with an RBI double and teammate Valerie Sadowl (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored in the University of Connecticut’s 4-2 win over UMass on Thursday. In Tuesday’s 10-2 win over Bryant, Sadowl had a double and three RBIs while Pinto singled and scored a run.

Haileigh Stocks (Central Bucks South) doubled and scored a run in Robert Morris University’s 5-4 loss to Wagner on Saturday in the nightcap of a twinbill. In Thursday’s 8-0 win over St. Bonaventure in the nightcap of a doubleheader, Stocks supported the Colonial cause with her bat and her arm. In addition to blasting a two-run homer, her first of the season, Stocks worked all six innings, allowing four hits – all singles, and no runs. She struck out four while yielding no runs in a start for the third time this season.

Heather Lutz (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and run scored in Millersville’s 4-3 loss to Mansfield in game two of a doubleheader Saturday. The Hatboro grad increased her program record for doubles in a season with her 19th two-bagger, this time to right field. Danielle DiFilippo (Hatboro-Horsham) and Maria Spinosa (Hatboro-Horsham) both had two hits and scored a run. In Friday’s 2-1 win over Shippensburg in a doubleheader split, Lutz had both of Millersville’s hits (2-for-2) with a run scored, an RBI and a walk.

Freshman shortstop Rae Holden (Abington) hit her first career home run to lead off the second inning of East Stroudsburg’s 5-4 loss to Mansfield in game two of a twinbill on Saturday. In Friday’s 9-1 loss to West Chester, Holden contributed an RBI single.

Freshman Brooke Labs (Pennridge) was 5-for-6 with two doubles in Marywood’s doubleheader sweep at the hands of Wilkes on Saturday. In the opening game – a 4-1 loss, Labs was 3-for-3 with a double. In a 4-0 loss in the nightcap, Labs was 2-for-3 with a double. In Marywood’s 5-4 win over Gwynedd Mercy in game one of a twinbill sweep, Labs delivered an RBI single for a run that turned out to be the game winner. In Marywood’s 6-4 win in the nightcap, Labs tripled and drove in a run. In Marywood’s 6-5 win over Keystone in game two of a doubleheader on Friday, Labs was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Liz Parkins (Souderton) was 2-for-4 in Shippensburg’s 5-1 win over Bloomsburg in Wednesday’s doubleheader split.

Mollie Burrell (Souderton) laid down a safety squeeze to plate a run in Philadelphia University’s 15-8 win over Chestnut Hill in game one of a doubleheader sweep Tuesday. The Souderton grad finished the game 3-for-5. In Philadelphia’s 10-6 win in game two, Burrell had a pair of hits. In Monday’s 10-2 win over Nyack in game two of a doubleheader sweep, Burrell had two hits.

Mary Ward (North Penn) was 2-for-3 with two runs scored in IUP’s 10-1 win over Mercyhurst in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader sweep. In Tuesday’s 6-5 loss to Lock Haven in 10 innings, Ward doubled to drive in a pair of runs and also scored a run.

Sam Creamer (Neshaminy) hit a solo home run – her first of the season – in Cornell’s 4-2 win over Siena in game one of Thursday’s doubleheader.

Lehigh sophomore Morgan Decker (Central Bucks South) was named the Patriot League Player of the Week for the week ending April 20. It is the fourth time she received the honor this season with the most recent coming after a 4-0 week that saw Lehigh sweep a three-game series from Holy Cross and clinch a Patriot League Tournament berth. Decker led Lehigh with a .600 batting average in four games, hitting safely in all four games and going 6-for-10. She also drew three walks and was hit by a pitch twice to add to an impressive .733 on-base percentage. In Lehigh’s 5-1 non-league win over Saint Joseph’s, Decker clubbed a three-run home run in the fifth, which gave Lehigh a four-run cushion. Decker went 5-for-8 in the series with Holy Cross, highlighted by her 3-for-4 effort in Saturday’s second game. In the fifth inning, Decker hit her seventh home run of the year, a solo shot, to pull the Mountain Hawks even at 3-3. Decker reached base on all five of her plate appearances in that game (double, single, home run, intentional walk, error) as the Mountain Hawks won 4-3 in nine innings. For the season, Decker raised her average to a team-best .402. She also leads the Mountain Hawks with 10 doubles, seven home runs, 35 RBIs, 26 walks and has been hit by a pitch nine times. Decker is hitting an even .500 (20-for-40) with three homers and 14 RBIs in 15 Patriot League games.
Decker went 3-for-6 – which included her eighth home run of the season - in Lehigh’s doubleheader sweep at the hands of Hofstra on Wednesday. Her solo homer accounted for Lehigh’s only run in an 8-1 loss in the nightcap that saw her collect two of her team’s three hits.

Freshman Bridget Hunt (Harry S Truman) contributed an RBI double in Binghamton’s 10-3 win over Hartford to complete a three-game sweep last Sunday.

Sophomore Lauren Klepchick (Central Bucks South) belted a solo home run in Rhode Island’s 4-3 win over St. Bonaventure in a doubleheader split on Saturday.

MEN’S TENNIS
Senior Steven Ly (Bensalem) and Kevin Wilkinson earned an 8-4 win at second doubles in Penn State Abington’s 5-2 win over the defending champion and top-seeded Rutgers University-Camden as the Nittany Lions captured the 2013-14 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) West Division Men’s Tennis Championship on Saturday. The Nittany Lions will now advance to take on the NAC East Division champion. In the Nittany Lions 5-2 win over Penn State Berks in the semifinals, Ly and Wilkinson earned an 8-1 win at second doubles. Ly also earned a 6-1,6-0 win at fourth singles.
Ly earned an 8-1 win at fourth singles in Penn State Abington’s 9-0 win over Baptist Bible in its regular season finale on Tuesday. He also was part of the second doubles team that notched an 8-2 win.

Gwynedd Mercy sophomore Peter Brzezinski (Hatboro-Horsham) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending April 20. It is the third straight week he has received the award. The sophomore closed out regular season play with an undefeated campaign at No. 1 singles and a perfect 7-0 record in conference play with his 6-1, 6-4 win over Immaculata to help the Griffins clinch the final playoff berth in the CSAC Team Tournament.

WOMEN’S TENNIS
Taylor Zisholtz (Central Bucks East)
earned a win at third singles (6-0, 6-2) and second doubles (8-3) in Penn State Abington’s 5-4 loss to defending champion Penn State Berks in Thursday’s semifinals at the 2014 North Eastern Athletic Conference team championships.
In individual play on Friday at the 2014 NEAC Tournament, fourth-seeded Honora Hegarty (Abington) and teammate Sheena Philip upset the top-seeded duo from Keuka College with a 9-7 decision to advance to the finals where they fell short in the championship match to second-seeded Crystial Hitz and Nandita Munindra of Penn State Berks with an 8-3 decision at No. 1 doubles. With their second place finish, Hegarty and Philip received second team all-conference honors. Top-seeded Zisholtz and Janie Saile earned an 8-4 win over the fourth-seeded doubles team from Penn State Berks and then knocked off second-seeded Brooke Benedetto and Miku Kugo of Wells College for an 8-6 win, earning first team all-conference honors at No. 2 doubles. In singles play, Hegarty earned a 6-4, 6-2 win to advance to the final round before falling short to Hitz of Berks (6-2, 6-2). Hegarty not only earned second team all-conference honors but also was selected by the conference coaches as the NEAC Rookie of the Year. Hegarty compiled a 5-1 NEAC record and was 8-6 overall playing from first singles during the regular season, which helped her earn a NEAC Player of the Week selection.

MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Drew Magaha (Upper Moreland)
was part of Penn’s second place 4x800 relay that posted a time of 7:30.14 at the Penn Relays on Saturday. The UM grad ran his leg of the race in 1:50.76. On Friday, John Trueman (Springfield) posted a time of 15:01.79 in the 5,000 meters.

Shippensburg sophomore Jalen Ramsey (Norristown) clear 6 feet 6 ¾ inches to capture first place at Saturday’s 10th annual Paul Kaiser Classic. Teammate Matthew Merritt (Upper Dublin) finished in a tie for eighth with a leap of 5 feet 10 ¾ inches. Alec Brand (Central Bucks East) finished fourth in the 3K with a time of 9:07.34.

Senior Jon Eisemann (Central Bucks South) was part of St. Joseph’s 4x100 relay that kicked off the day at the Penn Relays by posting a time of 42.26 to finish 43rd out of a field of 86 teams. Junior Matthew McGarvey (Central Bucks West) was part of the 4x400 relay that placed 41st out of 86 teams with a time of 3:16.74. With the performance, the group bested the Hawks’ top outdoor 4x4 of the season by over two seconds and become St. Joe’s first outdoor 4x4 to qualify for the 2014 IC4A Outdoor Championships.  McGarvey also was part of St. Joe’s 4x800 relay that posted a time of 7:31.99 to take sixth in a field of 25.

Johns Hopkins junior Michael Spadaro (Council Rock South) finished second in the long jump with a leap of 6.29m at the McDaniel Twilight meet on Wednesday. He went on to finish first in the triple jump with a jump of 12.70m.

Keith Parker-Washington (Upper Moreland) was part of East Stroudsburg’s 4x200m relay that finished 24th out of 36 teams at the Penn Relays with a time of 1:29.46. He also was part of the 4x400 relay that finished 38th out of 89 teams and was first of nine teams in its heat, posting a time of 3:16.50. On Saturday, ESU’s Corey Smith (Central Bucks West) finished third in the pole vault at Lehigh University with a vault of 14-5 ¼. Eric Conard (Souderton) finished sixth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.54, and he was 15th in the discus with a throw of 111-10 and 18th in the shot put (32-1 ½).

WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Zakiyyah Richardson (Pennsbury)
was part of Gwynedd Mercy’s 4x100 relay team that finished 65th out of 105 competing teams at the Penn Relays on Thursday. The team’s time of 49.14 was the fastest NCAA Division III performance in the event.

Kayla Charles (North Penn) was part of St. Joe’s 4x100 track team that crossed the line in 49.64 at the Lehigh Games on Saturday.

Senior Monique Clemons (Wissahickon) was part of Shippensburg’s 4x400m relay that posted a time of 3:52.58 at the Penn Relays on Thursday. The quartet’s season PR is 3:48.83, which remains atop the conference rankings and among the Top 25 times in Division II for the year. At Saturday’s 10th annual Paul Kaiser Classic, the 4x400 relay team captured first place with a time of 3:53.74. Sophomore Carolyn Meier (Upper Dublin) met the PSAC qualifying standard in the 800 meters with a time of 2:21.08. Meier was part of Shippensburg’s 4x4 relay team that captured fourth with a time of 4:09.53. Gabby Brackett (Bensalem) finished fifth in the 3K Steeple with a time of 12:52.00 while teammate Sarah Latch (Central Bucks East) was seventh with a time of 13:06.02. Clemons finished fifth in the 400m with a time of 59.51.

Widener junior Amber Char (William Tennent) finished ninth in the pole vault (3.05 meters) at the Lions’ Invitational on Saturday.

West Chester’s Christine Johnson (North Penn) finished third in the shot put with a throw of 37-11 ¼ at the All-American Invite at East Stroudsburg on April 19. Dara Lindsey (Central Bucks East) placed third in the 400m dash with a time of 59.65. Danielle Kuhn (Central Bucks East) was victorious in the 100m hurdles when she broke the tape in 15.53 seconds. Emily Dusellier (Souderton) was the runner-up in the 800, crossing the line in 2:16.79.

Millersville’s Megan Meyer (Central Bucks South) finished fifth in the 800-meter run at the 10th Annual Paul Kaiser Track and Field Classic at Shippensburg on Saturday. On Friday, she was part of Millersville’s 4x400 relay that placed 64th at the Penn Relays, posting a tie of 3:58.79.

Alexis Bell (Norristown) was part of East Stroudsburg’s 4x200 relay that finished 30th out of 40 teams at the Penn Relays, posting a time of 1:42.65, the fourth fastest time in school history. On Saturday, Kelley Anne Stuetz (Cheltenham) finished in a tie for fifth place in the high jump with a leap of 4-11 at Lehigh University. She also finished 11th in the 400m hurdles (1:07.34) and 13th in the 100m hurdles (16.17). Janee Williams (Abington) was 27th in the 100m hurdles (20.04). Mary-Kate Killoran (William Tennent) finished 22nd in the 1500m run with a time of 5:09.81. She posted a time of 2:33.81 in the 800m hurdles.

Bloomsburg’s Tayler Harkins (North Penn) broke her own school record in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.14 meters (148’1”) at the Maroon and Gold Invitational on Saturday. Her old mark was 44.45 meters. In addition, Harkins finished second in the discus with a throw of 41.05 meters (134’8”), and she was second in the shot put with a toss of 12.06 meters (39’7”). Alexis Rankin (Hatboro-Horsham) finished first in the 800 meters with a time of 2:21.11. Kate Dodds (Upper Dublin) finished third in the 1500m run with a time of 4:55.61.
