Keith Meyer (Council Rock North) contributed a pair of hits, including a two-run triple, and scored a run in Bloomsburg’s 6-4 win in 10 innings over East Stroudsburg on Saturday. Meyer also drove in a run in the Huskies 8-3 win in game two of the twinbill with ESU. In Bloomsburg’s 7-4 loss to East Stroudsburg in game one of a doubleheader on Friday, Meyer contributed an RBI single, In the Huskies 4-3 win in game two, Meyer was 2-for-4 with an RBI. In East Stroudsburg’s 15-7 win over Clarion on Wednesday, Meyer was 2-for-4 with three RBIs while teammate Pete Edgar (North Penn) singled home a run in the sixth inning. In Bloomsburg’s 12-7 loss to Clarion in the second game of the doubleheader, Meyer was 4-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Dean Diernbach (Central Bucks West) pitched a near complete game to earn his first win of the season in Philadelphia Biblical University’s 9-7 win over Polytechnic University on Thursday. Diernbach allowed only three earned runs in eight innings. Nick Schnittjer (Pennridge) delivered a pair of hits and three RBIs while teammate Jeremy McAlack (Council Rock North) contributed one hit and two RBIs.
Senior Jon Gyles (Central Bucks West) had a pair of hits in La Salle’s 2-1 loss to Massachusetts on Saturday. In Friday’s 5-4 loss to UMass, Gyles had three singles while teammate Adam Kammler (Pennridge) had a pair of hits. 
Kevin Christy (North Penn) allowed two earned runs in 6.1 innings on the mound for the no-decision. In Tuesday’s 9-4 loss to Penn, junior Shane Petrellis (Council Rock South) threw three innings of scoreless relief.
Matt Albaugh (North Penn) was 1-for-2 with an RBI and run scored in Kutztown’s 7-1 win over Chestnut Hill in game one of a twinbill last Monday. Chestnut Hill was led by the 3-for-3, one-RBI effort of Ray Puskar (Pennridge). In Chestnut Hill’s 4-2 win in game two, Alex Latchum (Central Bucks South) collected a pair of hits while Puskar added one hit and scored a run. Joe Crane (Council Rock South) threw 1.2 scoreless innings in relief for Chestnut Hill, fanning a pair. Albaugh was 1-for-3 with an RBI for Kutztown.
In Chestnut Hill’s 10-4 win over Bloomfield in 13 innings on Friday, Crane delivered a three-run triple in the 13th inning.
John Burns (Neshaminy) drove in three runs while going 2-for-2 in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 5-4 win over Centenary in game one of a twinbill on Saturday. In the Griffins 8-6 loss to Neumann in game one of a twinbill on Tuesday, Burns contributed an RBI double.
Junior Matt Hone (Council Rock North) contributed an RBI single in Widener’s 4-0 win over Arcadia on Saturday. For Arcadia, Jordan Hofferman (Cheltenham) allowed three earned runs in six innings on the mound. In Arcadia’s 9-5 loss to Widener on Thursday, Tyler Guentter (North Penn) threw a scoreless inning in relief. Hone delivered a sacrifice fly for Widener.
Brian Camp (Cheltenham) started on the mound for Penn State Abington in Saturday’s 9-3 loss to Keuka, working five innings while striking out four and allowing just one hit and walking two. In Wednesday’s 14-11 loss to Immaculata, Robert Morak (Abington) worked the final 2.2 innings, allowing just one hit while striking out one. In Monday’s 11-7 win over Cazenovia, Michael Corrigan (William Tennent) delivered an RBI single and finished the day a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
AJ Wright (Council Rock South) absorbed the loss in Ursinus College’s 5-4 loss to Dickinson on Saturday, allowing two earned runs in six innings while striking out one and walking one. In Tuesday’s 2-0 loss to Franklin & Marshall, junior starting pitcher Jake Kohler (Upper Dublin) went the distance, allowing just one earned run while scattering five hits and striking out three. He fell to 2-2 on the season with the loss.
Chris Edgar (North Penn) contributed a hit and RBI in Millersville’s 4-0 win over Mansfield in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday. In Millersville’s 6-0 win in game two, freshman catcher David Pine (Council Rock North) had a hit and walked once. In Friday’s 8-2 win over Mansfield, Edgar was 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored.
Sophomore Daniel Seitzinger (Central Bucks West) collected a hit and scored a run in Moravian College’s 6-2 win over the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Friday. In Wednesday’s 10-3 win over Haverford College, freshman outfielder Matt Hanson (Central Bucks West) was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a double while Seitzinger went 1-for-2 with one run scored. In Tuesday’s 11-3 win over Elizabethtown, Hanson was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a stolen base while Seitzinger was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Kristopher Davis (Central Bucks East) threw two scoreless innings, striking out a pair, late in the game for Elizabethtown.
Davis earned his second win of the weekend last Sunday, working a scoreless eighth inning in Elizabethtown’s 10-5 win over Franklin & Marshall.
Leftfielder Ken McCormick (Pennsbury) recorded a pair of hits in Philadelphia University’s 3-2 loss to Caldwell last Sunday. In Thursday’s 8-2 loss to the University of the Sciences, McCormick also had a pair of hits.
Ryan Pater (Central Bucks East) singled and scored a run in St. Joseph’s 5-3 win over Saint Louis on Friday. In Tuesday’s 3-2 win over Delaware, Pater had a pair of hits and scored two runs.
Tim Filer (Council Rock North) contributed a two-run double in Lebanon Valley’s 10-2 win over Elizabethtown on Friday.

Pete O’Hara (Council Rock North) was 5-for-6 with a stolen base, four runs scored and one RBI in Delaware Valley’s 15-3 win over Eastern University on Thursday. Teammate Mike Ferrier (Pennridge) was 2-for-4 with a two-run double. In Tuesday’s 6-5 loss to Arcadia, O’Hara was 3-for-6 with two runs scored.
Robbie Zinsmeister (North Penn) was 2-for-4 with one run scored while teammate Dylan Tice (Pennridge) was 2-for-3 with three runs scored in IUP’s 6-4 win over Gannon in game one of a twinbill on Saturday. In IUP’s 2-1 loss in game two, Tice was 2-for-4. In IUP’s 2-0 win over Gannon in game two of a doubleheader on Friday, Zinsmeister delivered an RBI single that plated Tice, who doubled and stole a base in the win. Both Zinsmeister and Tice collected one hit in IUP’s 6-1 loss to Gannon in game one of the doubleheader.

Shawn Caven (Pennsbury) had seven ground balls and went 11-for-22 on faceoffs in Ursinus College’s 12-9 loss to Gettysburg on Saturday.
Junior Heath Kupecky (Upper Merion) scored two goals and contributed two assists in Messiah College’s 11-10 win over Lebanon Valley on Thursday night.
Sophomore attack Kevin Sonderschafer (Central Bucks South) contributed an assist on a man-up goal in Chestnut Hill’s 10-6 loss to seventh-ranked New York Institute of Technology.
Senior Johnny Casey (Abington) scored a career-high six goals in Widener’s 11-10 loss to Albright in overtime on Saturday.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Danielle Savoni (Hatboro-Horsham) scored a collegiate game-high six goals in Penn State Abington’s 17-10 win over Wells College on Friday. In Penn State Abington’s 14-5 loss to Keuka College on Saturday, Savoni scored a single goal.
Sophomore Amy Cross (Upper Dublin) scored a free position goal in No. 2 Syracuse’s 15-10 win over Rutgers on Saturday.
Senior attack Kelly McKay (Pennridge) scored three goals in Chestnut Hill’s 17-4 win over Post University on Thursday. In Wednesday’s 13-11 loss to Holy Family, McKay contributed a pair of goals.
Kendall Rood (Central Bucks East) scored a pair of goals in Eastern University’s 11-9 win over Widener on Tuesday.
Kelly Hamilton (Central Bucks South) connected for the hat trick in Lock Haven’s 17-1 win over Edinboro on Friday. Lindsay Walbrandt (Souderton) had one goal, one assist, two draw controls and four ground balls, In Lock Haven’s 17-7 win over Slippery Rock on Tuesday, Hamilton scored a pair of goals while midfielder Kate Smyth (Pennsbury), in her first game action of the season, handed out a pair of assists. Freshman Melinda Wojt (Souderton) and teammate Clare Gaeng combined for five of the Lady Eagles 11 caused turnovers.
Stephanie Bianco (Upper Merion) scored three goals in IUP’s 18-13 loss to Slippery Rock on Thursday. In Tuesday’s 14-6 win over Edinboro, Bianco contributed a pair of goals. IUP was ranked 12th in last week’s IWLCA Division II poll.
Garrie Grenfel (North Penn) scored a goal in Shippensburg’s 19-10 loss to West Chester on Friday. Senior Ali Cross (Upper Dublin) was credited with a career-high 14 saves in goal. Cross has recorded 10 or more saves in four of the last five games. In Tuesday’s 15-7 win over Kutztown, Grenfell scored a pair of goals while junior Roxanne Brown (Pennridge) added a single goal. Cross stopped 11 shots en route to the win. She has compiled a .516 save percentage in six games this season. For Kutztown, senior Leeann Pica (Neshaminy) contributed six draw controls, six ground balls and a goal.
Pica scored the game-winning goal in Kutztown’s 11-10 win over Edinboro on Saturday. The goal put her at 100 career points. She is just the sixth player in school history to reach the plateau and just the second since the program was re-established. She also had two ground balls and four draw controls. The win represented the first PSAC victory for Kutztown since the restart of the program in 2008.
Junior Lauren McDermott (North Penn) scored three goals in La Salle’s 13-9 loss to Temple on Saturday afternoon. The loss was just the third of the season for the Explorers (9-3).
Senior defender Molly McLenigan (Plymouth Whitemarsh) contributed one assist, three ground balls and two caused turnovers in East Stroudsburg’s 20-13 win over Gannon Tuesday.
Sophomore Lauren Purvis (Hatboro-Horsham) scored a goal in No. 12 Penn State’s 14-7 loss to top-ranked Northwestern in Friday.
Emily Maher (Pennridge) contributed one goal, three ground balls and one draw control in American University’s 13-12 loss to Lafayette on Saturday.
Alisha Aquilino (Abington) and two of her teammates combined to stop 19 shots in goal in St. Joseph’s 19-4 loss to Massachusetts on Friday.
Freshman Becky Ely (Council Rock North) contributed a goal and three ground balls and was credited for her defensive play and performance in the midfield in Messiah College’s 16-11 win over Lebanon Valley on Thursday. Senior Rachel Coyle (Souderton) led the defense with five ground balls, two draw controls and four caused turnovers to go along with one goal and one assist. Rachel Dirksen (Abington), who leads the Falcons with 43 goals and 13 assists, did not play in Thursday’s win.
Karen Illuminati (Upper Moreland) scored a goal while Lauren Mateja (Upper Merion) made a career-high 18 saves in Millersville’s 18-5 loss to No. 9 West Chester on Tuesday. Liz Wilson (Abington) was credited with six ground balls for West Chester while teammate Stacey Pellechia (North Penn) contributed a goal.
Natalie Draham (Wissahickon) scored an unassisted goal in Bloomsburg’s 21-16 loss to Gannon on Friday. In Tuesday’s 18-14 loss to Mercyhurst, Aubrey Bossert (Wissahickon) scored a pair of goals while Draham and Ashley Bossert (Wissahickon) both added single goals.
SOFTBALL
Emily Parkins (Souderton) threw a complete game in her first start of the season on Saturday, allowing two earned runs on seven hits in Shippensburg’s 3-2 win over Edinboro. It was her first victory of 2012 and improved her career record to 7-5. In Shippensburg’s 1-0 win in nine innings in game two of the twinbill, freshman Liz Parkins (Souderton) yielded just four singles in nine innings while striking out eight. She did not walk a batter. Edinboro’s biggest threat came in the sixth inning when a fielding error and a fielder’s choice on a sacrifice bunt prefaced a successful sacrifice that put two runners in scoring position with one out. Parkins struck out the next two batters she faced to silence the threat. In Shippensburg’s 2-1 win over West Chester on Tuesday, Liz Parkins struck out nine batters and retired 13 of the final 14 batters she faced. Other than a sixth inning double, Parkins allowed just five singles and did not walk a batter.
East Stroudsburg senior third baseman Rachel Gieringer (Hatboro-Horsham) was named the PSAC East Softball Player of the Week for the week ending April 2. Geiringer hit .563 (9-for-16) with four doubles, two home runs, nine RBIs and four runs scored as East Stroudsburg split doubleheaders with West Chester and Mansfield. She extended her hitting streak to 12 games and had a 1.188 slugging percentage with 19 total bases in four games. In ESU’s 4-2 win over West Chester, Gieringer was 2-for-4 with an RBI double. She was 1-for-3 in ESU’s 8-0 loss in game two. At Mansfield, she was 6-for-9 with three doubles, two homers, eight RBIs and four runs scored in the doubleheader. In an 11-9 win, she was 3-for-5 with a double, home run, three RBIs and two runs. She was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, five RBI and two runs scored in an 18-10 loss. Gieringer is hitting .381 with a .416 on-base percentage and a .583 slugging percentage through 25 games this season. She has six doubles, a triple and three home runs, leads ESU with 19 RBIs and is second with 15 runs scored. A member of the all-PSAC East second team as a sophomore and the division’s Freshman of the Year in 2009, Gieringer moved into second at ESU with 15 career home runs. She is tied for fourth with 79 RBIs and ranks eighth with 144 career hits.
Gieringer was 2-for-3 in East Stroudsburg’s 3-1 loss to Bloomfield on Wednesday after having her 12-game hitting streak snapped in the opener. In Friday’s doubleheader sweep at the hands of fifth-ranked Kutztown, Gieringer had a pair of hits. In Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Slippery Rock in game one of a doubleheader, Gieringer hit a solo home run, the 16th of her career. She is within two homers of tying the school record. She was 2-for-3 in the game and became the sixth player in ESU history with 150 career hits.
Chelsea Edwards (Hatboro-Horsham) drilled a two-run home run to deep center in Lock Haven’s 8-0 win over Bloomsburg in game one of a twinbill on Friday.
Gabbie Berry (Norristown) and Danielle DiFilippo (Hatboro-Horsham) accounted for two of Millersville’s four hits in the Marauders’ 2-1 loss to California on Saturday. In Millersville 3-2 win over Shippensburg in game one of a twinbill on Friday, Alicia Hughes (Quakertown) earned her fifth win of the season, allowing two runs (zero earned) on five hits while walking none and striking out four. Hughes pitched a perfect bottom of the seventh to secure the win. In Millersville 3-1 loss to Shippensburg in the nightcap, freshman Stephanie Kulp (North Penn) drove in the team’s lone run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Berry scored the run after singling to start the inning. In Wednesday’s 4-0 win over Bowie State in game one of a twinbill, Hughes tossed a complete game shutout, limiting the Bulldogs to just four hits while striking out eight and walking none. In Millersville’s 8-4 win in game two, DiFilippo singled, drove in a run and scored a run.
Heather Hannum (Hatboro-Horsham) collected two hits and an RBI in Kutztown’s 10-2 win over Millersville in game two of a doubleheader sweep by the Golden Bears on Tuesday. Kutztown (34-1) moved into fifth in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top 25 Poll, which is the highest mark in program history. Hannum is hitting .340 with a slugging percentage of .466.
Freshman MaryKate Ballerino (Hatboro-Horsham) had one of Gwynedd-Mercy’s three hits in the Griffins 7-0 loss to Haverford on Thursday. She also stole a base.
Kristen Palmerio (Norristown) earned the win in Lebanon Valley’s 5-4 win over Elizabethtown on Thursday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks in nine innings. She fanned four. In game two of the twinbill, a 6-3 Lebanon Valley win, Palmerio earned her second win the day, throwing a complete game and allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks and a strikeout. She also had a base hit.
Amanda Sadowl (Hatboro-Horsham) pitched the first five innings of Mount St. Mary’s 8-6 win over Canisius on Thursday, allowing three runs on six hits with one strikeout.
Deanna Dungee (North Penn) pitched a scoreless fifth in Alvernia’s 10-2 win over Albright on Thursday. In Wednesday’s 10-1 win over Eastern, Dungee earned the win on the mound, improving to 7-1 on the season.
Melissa Kulp (Upper Merion) singled and scored a run in Penn State Abington’s 6-3 loss to Penn State Burks on Friday. Tiffany Sipler (Upper Moreland) started on the mound and allowed just two hits in three innings, recording three strikeouts. She finished the day with five strikeouts. In last Sunday’s 9-1 loss to Penn State Harrisburg, Rebecca Patenaude (North Penn) contributed an RBI single.
Casey McGill (Upper Merion) was 4-for-6 with three RBIs in Green Mountain College’s doubleheader split with Southern Vermont College last Wednesday. In last Thursday’s 17-1 loss to Sage, McGill drove in Green Mountain’s only run.
Junior Lindsey iden (Council Rock North) was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI in Holy Family’s twinbill against Felician College on Saturday afternoon. Felician swept the twinbill, winning the first 2-1 in extra innings and winning 8-2 in game two. In Thursday’s 5-1 loss to West Chester, freshman Kelsi Bunda (Pennsbury) contributed an infield single and scored her team’s only run. In Tuesday’s sweep of visiting Post University in a twinbill (3-2, 5-4), juniors Lindsey Iden (Council Rock North) and Deanna Myers (William Tennent) combined for six hits as well as three runs and four RBIs. Iden went 3-for-7 with a run scored and an RBI while Myers went 3-for-6 with two runs and three RBI. Myers also launched her third home run of the season, which marked the 17th of her career and moved her into second place all-time in program history. In Holy Family’s 3-2 win over Post in eight innings, freshman Erica Reis (Central Bucks East) contributed a single. Sophomore Rachael Alligood (Harry S Truman) picked up her third win of the season after going the distance in Holy Family’s 5-4 win. In seven innings, she allowed three earned runs off seven hits while striking out three.
Junior Devon Utterback (Central Bucks South) earned the win in West Chester’s 4-3 win over Gannon Saturday, allowing eight hits and only one earned run while walking two and striking out five. Megan Kelly (Hatboro-Horsham) delivered a bunt single in West Chester’s ninth inning rally. Utterback also closed out the game in West Chester’s 5-2 loss in game two of the twinbill. In Thursday’s 5-1 win over Holy Family, Utterback pitched a complete game, allowing one run on four hits while fanning a pair.
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Chris Niles (Central Bucks South) set Elizabethtown’s best time for the day with an 11.74 time in the 100m at the Muhlenberg Invitational on Saturday.
St. Joseph’s Matthew McGarvey (Central Bucks West) finished first in the 800m (1:52.64) at the Lafayette 7-Way meet last Sunday. Teammate John Eisemann (Central Bucks South) finished sixth in the 100m (10.96).
La Salle’s Nick Crits (Wissahickon) finished 12th in the 1500 meter race at the Sam Howell Princeton Invitational on Saturday. He crossed the finish line with an IC4A-qualifying time of 3:50.38. Teammate Paul Reilly (Upper Dublin) finished fourth in the 800m race at the Penn Invitational on Saturday, posting a time of 1:54.90.
Brandon Bennett-Green (Cheltenham) was part of Penn State’s 4x400 relay team that set a school record at Saturday’s Battle on the Bayou hosted by Louisiana State University, posting a time of 3:06.50 to finish third. Bennett-Green finished eighth in the 400-meters with a lifetime best of 46.71. He now ranks sixth on the all-time Nittany Lion list. The men’s team finished sixth overall.
Millersville’s Zach Kohler (Pennridge) won the decathlon at the Millersville Metrics on Saturday, completing the two-day event with 5,856 points. For the decathlon, Kohler placed first in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.28. In the discus, he finished third with a toss of 29.75 meters. Kohler took second in the pole vault at 3.75 meters, third in the javelin with a 37.89-meter heave and seventh in the1500-meter run, clocking in at 5:15.29. On day one of the competition, Kohler finished second in the 100m dash with a time of 11.78 seconds. In the long jump, he placed third with a distance of 6.21 meter. Kohler placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 10.46 meters. In the high jump, Kohler topped the field with a leap of 1.95 meters. Kohler took third in the 400m dash, posting a time of 53.52.
West Chester’s Nick Drozd (Central Bucks South) qualified for the PSAC Outdoor Championships at the Millersville Metrics and Combined Events Challenge on Saturday. Drozd qualified in the 400m hurdles, placing eighth with a time of 57.32.
Lock Haven’s Steve Roberts (Quakertown) finished second in the 400m dash with a time of 49.66 at the Millersville Metrics and Combined Events Challenge on Saturday.
East Stroudsburg freshman Brandon Mercer (North Penn) finished third in the 100m dash with a time of 10.93 at the Muhlenberg Invitational on Saturday. Sophomore Keith Parker-Washington (Upper Moreland) finished fourth with a time of 10.98. Both were part of ESU’s winning 4x100 relay team that posted a time of 41.86. Parker-Washington was part of East Stroudsburg’s first place 4x400 relay that posted a time of 3:23.73 He also finished third in the long jump (22-1).
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Shippensburg junior Caitlin Stuetz (Cheltenham) won the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.85 at the Millersville Metrics on Saturday. That also stands as a season PR for Stuetz.
Bloomsburg’s Tayler Harkins (North Penn) was fifth with a PSAC-qualifying mark of 37’5” at Saturday’s Millersville Metrics. Teammate Lauren Bond (North Penn) finished 14th in the 3000 meter race with a time of 4:57.76. Alexis Rankin (Hatboro-Horsham) was fourth in the 400m dash with a PSAC-qualifying mark of 58.58.
Lock Haven’s Christina Ohmott (Hatboro-Horsham) won the pole vault with a PSAC qualifying mark of 11-5.25 at the Millersville Metrics and Combined Events Challenge on Saturday. Teammate Vanita Moses (Neshaminy) was second in the shot put with a mark of 39-3.25.
Kutztown’s Jill Kostishion (Pennridge) posted a time of 2:23.30 in the 800m run to finish seventh at the Millersville Metrics on Saturday.
St. Joseph’s University’s Kayla Charles (North Penn) finished second in the 100m hurdles (14.96) at the Lafayette 7-Way meet last Sunday.
Messiah College senior Brooke Airey (Neshaminy) finished first in the 800m run at the York College tri-meet on Tuesday. Messiah defeated both York and Gettysburg. Sophomore Jenny Bender (North Penn) finished first in the 3000m run.

Ethan Mawhinney (Neshaminy)contributed eight kills in Philadelphia Biblical’s 3-0 loss to #6 Stevens Institute of Technology on Thursday.
Austin Jacoby (Pennridge) contributed 18 kills to lead Stevenson to a 3-2 win over Thiel last Saturday at Juniata.
