2012 Briarwood Invitational XC Results

Central Bucks East and North Penn represented the SOL in the Championship Girls’ 5000 Meter Run. The Patriots finished third behind Lenape Regional High School and Hereford High School with 69 points while North Penn was fifth out of six teams in the division with 84 points.

CB East senior Marissa Hawley and freshman Elizabeth Huuki finished seventh and eighth respectively with times of 20:18.00 and 20:21.60. North Penn’s Courtney Kern and Phoebe Clowser were right behind them at ninth and 10th with times of 10:32.10 and 20:35.60. Also finishing in the top 20 were CB East’s Meaghan Willcoxen (11th, 20:36.40), CB East’s Lizzy Morris (15th, 20:46.70) and North Penn’s Brianna Mengini (20:56.90).

Others competing in the elite race were North Penn’s Melanie Vlasic (21:09.30), Colleen McGovern (21:38.60) and Priya Kikani (22:44.90) and CB East’s Sarah Romanus (21:38.70), Louise Huuki (21:46.30) and Kendall Savage (21:58.50). On the boys’ side, Council Rock North was the top SOL finisher in the Championship Boys’ 5000 Meter Run, finishing fourth with 135 points. North Penn was eighth out of 12 teams with 186 points, and Upper Dublin was 12th with 283 points.

Council Rock North junior Ross Wilson was the SOL’s top finisher with a time of 16:00.60. North Penn’s Jack Macauley finished seventh with a time of 16:11.20, Upper Dublin’s Francis Ferruzzi was eighth (16:17.10) and Rock North’s Mac Emery was ninth with a time of 16:17.60. Also competing in the prestigious race were North Penn’s Ryan Grace (16:57.60), Matt Malloy (17:12.10), Cameron Helmuth (18:09.50), Anthony Camasso (18:11.00) and Ryan Tung (18:23.70), CR North’s James Zingarini (17:06.50), Brian Arita (17:39.50), Sean Griswold (17:40.60), Doug Benton (17:45.70) and Zack Keller (17:58.30) Upper Dublin’s Jae Kim (18:12.30), Andrew Stewart (18:15.80), Sam O’Connell (18:33.60), Robert Bonasia (18:41.20), Fred Fields (19:05.10) and Zach Jacobs (19:51.70). William Tennent finished third in the Division I Boys 5000 Meter Run, finishing behind only Pope Paul VI and Downingtown East with 198 points. Pennridge finished fifth (225), Central Bucks East was seventh (240), Central Bucks West finished 13th (275), Hatboro-Horsham was 14th (277), Council Rock South 16th  (330), Neshaminy 17th (343), Plymouth Whitemarsh 18th (393), Abington 19th (435) and Upper Moreland 24th (699).

Hatboro-Horsham senior Conner Quinn captured the individual title in the Division I Boys 5000 Meter Run, posting a time of 16:18.30 while CB East’s Alec Brand was second with a time of 16:31.00. Council Rock South junior Jeffrey Wiseman finished 10th (17:16.20). CB East’s Jake Brophy finished 13th (17:18.60), CB West’s Chris Berry was 14th (17:18.90) and William Tennent’s Jesse Coleman finished 16th with a time of 17:19.70. Pennridge’s Matt Schulberger and Joseph Logue founded out the top 20, finishing 19th and 20th respectively with times of 17:21.20 and 17:22.10. Other SOL runners finishing in the top 50 were CB East’s Conner Sands (23rd, 17:23.60), Penridge’s Mike Tatarowicz (25th, 17:26.10), Tennent’s Henry Jay Colby (28th, 17:29.20), CB West’s AJ Morgan (36th, 17:43.20), PW’s Cassidy Silverthorn (28th, 17:45.50), Neshaminy’s Joe Sulon (41st, 17:52.60), Abington’s Jabari Freeman (42nd, 17:57.10), Tennent’s Charlie Anderson (46th, 18:00.70) and Mike Kane (47th, 18:01.40) and Pennridge’s Jeff Henderson (49th, 18:04.70).

On the girls’ side, Upper Dublin was the top SOL team in the Division I Girls 5000 Meter Run with a seventh place finish (202 points). William Tennent was 11th with 268 points, Neshaminy finished 12th (322) and Hatboro-Horsham was 15th with 383 points.

Individually, Upper Dublin freshman Emily Wu was the top SOL individual finisher in the Division I Girls 5000 Meter Run, finishing 19th with a time of 21:23.90. Neshaminy’s Kelly Larson was 20th with a time of 21:23.90. Also finishing in the top 50 were Tennent’s Jen Rutkowsky (22nd, 21:33.00), Neshaminy’s Kate Pinker (28th, 21:40.30), Hatboro-Horsham’s Megan Schneider (29th, 21:41.40), Tennent’s Lindsay Mueller (34th, 22:01.80), Upper Moreland’s Brittany Finn (37th, 22:03.60), Upper Dublin’s Isabel Uribe (42nd, 22:08.60), Marissa Holl (43rd, 22:08.70) and Candice Ionescu (47th, 22:16.20).
