Bergey’s Inc. National Conference Highlighted Players
Alyssa Dalrymple
and Morgan Buechner –Bensalem High School
Dalrymple has been a mainstay of the Owls’ defense while Buechner, a midfielder, has been a veteran presence on both ends of the field. Buechner is a tri-captain.
Note from the coach:
“Last year as a freshman, Alyssa played on the forward line as a wing,” coach Amanda Tu said. “We decided this summer in Florida to try Alyssa out on defense. Ever since that move, there never has been a question as to where Alyssa’s position would be on the team. She has really turned into a fearless and tremendous player. Her skills and ability to communicate with her teammates has greatly strengthened throughout the season. Alyssa is a coachable player who consistently aspires to work hard at each and every practice and game.
“Morgan has grown into a smart, skilled and coachable hockey player. As a senior and tri-captain, she understands that in order to be great at something, you have to work hard. Morgan really stepped up her play this season and was the glue for defense and offense as midfielder. Playing all season through back and neck issues, consistent visits to the chiropractor, she never once used her injury as an excuse at practice or when it was game time. Her leadership abilities are outstanding, and the love she has for sports is tremendous.”

Jen Harchut –
Senior at Upper Dublin High School

A four-year varsity player, the senior captain has played every position on the field except goalie for the Flying Cardinals. She will play collegiate field hockey at Columbia University.
Note from the coach:
“Jen is a complete player,” coach Heather Boyer said. “She is one of the most knowledgeable and talented players I have ever coached and has devoted countless hours to improve her skill set. She has an unbelievable understanding of the game, which makes her very difficult to defend. Jen is also a team player. In her four years at the varsity level for Upper Dublin, she has played every position on the field except goalie, and because of her game sense, she has played every one of those positions successfully. Because of her work ethic, her leadership ability and her natural talent as a player, she has been an outstanding role model for her teammates and has set a high standard for future Upper Dublin field hockey players to follow. She offers great promise to the college game as she takes her talent to Columbia University next fall.”
