Jake Snyder – Junior at North Penn High School
A two-year member of the team, the junior goalie, who was outstanding all season, turned away 41 of 43 shots in faced in the Knights’ 5-2 win over Ridley in a Flyers Cup semifinal game last week. He singlehandedly kept North Penn in a contest that saw Ridley hold a lopsided 43-16 advantage in shots on goal. Snyder, who split time with teammate John Roberts, was 5-1-1 in 10 games played, allowing an average of 3.11 goals against with an impressive .911 save percentage. Snyder also plays for the Valley Forge Minutemen.

Note from the coach:
“Jake has been a very solid player for us, especially last year when we had a really strong defense,” coach Kevin Vaitis said. “His positioning is very strong, and he always does a nice job playing his angles with the shot coming in. He does a nice job controlling the puck. He’s just very steady back there.
“Jake and Johnny are both great kids. They’re very competitive. Jake is a little bit quieter than Johnny. He’s just a great kid you want to coach. With goalies, you have one of two types. You have the ones that are very quiet, they play their position, they show up, and they do their jobs. That’s Jake Snyder, and he does it very well. There’s the other type, and that’s Johnny. You never know what you’re going to get from a personality standpoint when he shows up, but that makes it enjoyable to coach the two of them.”
