Andy Cicconi – Senior at Council Rock North High School
A newcomer to the team this year, the senior goalkeeper has been a welcome addition. Cicconi boasts a save percentage of .892 with 248 saves in nine games. He has allowed an average of just 3.33 goals a game for the Indians. An excellent student, he has been accepted to Penn State University main campus in the school of engineering. He also has been accepted at St. Joseph’s University.

Note from the coach:
“Andy has been a goalie on travel teams, but this is his first year with the high school team,” coach Eric Tye said. “We at Council Rock North Ice Hockey got in a jam and we didn’t have a goalie. I knew he was a goalie in the school, so I reached out to him at the end of summer. We talked, and he agreed to be the goalie for the year for the team. Absolutely, it was one of the best phone calls I ever made.
“Sometimes you get kids who are really good hockey players and they could care less about anything else – school, living their lives, anything like that. Andy is a good kid. He’s the ultimate teammate too. He’s the first one there for practice or a game, and he’s the last one to leave, and it’s not because it takes him that long to get undressed. He’s just talking to guys after games, talking to other kids. Before the game, he’s there talking to everyone. We’re five months into this, and I’ve yet to see the kid without a smile on his face. He knows what he wants to do for the rest of his life, and there aren’t too many 17 or 18-year-old kids who can do that.
“We have three wins and a tie mainly because of Andy. The games that we lost – we lost close games because he’s kept them close. If we give up four goals, they’re not his fault. He’s done everything we’ve asked him to do as a goalie. Andy has a great head on his shoulders and a very bright future.”
