Brian Scipione – Senior at Abington High School
The senior captain anchors the Ghosts’ defense but is also capable of contributing to the attack. In nine games, he has three goals and five assists. A four-year varsity player for the Ghosts, Scipione is a well-rounded young man who understands the importance of grades, leadership and balance in all things.

Note from the coach:
“He’s a very mature individual,” coach Pat Croce said. “Even as a freshman, he would try to learn as much as he could from the older guys. He would also try and help some of his peers, and that trend continued to try and help the other players, either his age or under him, to get acclimated to things and feel comfortable in the locker room and helped them. He did have one year when he struggled a little bit from a disciplinary perspective, and he was able to correct that pretty quickly and became one of the best role models on the team for everybody else. He holds down a job, and he gets good grades. He’s one of those kids you really like to be around because he’s so positive.
“Brian is a great skater, he has good vision, and he’s a really tough defender. Whether it be one-on-one or whether it be in the corners, he’s a very tough defender, but he also has offensive flash to him. He can find a seam, slip in and snipe if he has to, or he can come in, find a seam and then pass to a player that’s open. He has great vision and great abilities.”
