Bergey's Inc. SOL SHSHL Player of the Week: Jordan Engelhart

Bergey’s Buick GMC
SOL SHSHL Player of the Week

This recognition is sponsored by Bergey’s Buick GMC. Athletes are chosen based on nomination of coaches, and the recipient must be a positive presence on the ice and a credit to the game. Consideration also is given to the student-athlete’s standing in the school and community.

Senior Jordan Engelhart has been part of Souderton’s ice hockey program since he was in sixth grade. He was swing player on the 2014 team that advanced to the Flyers Cup final and has been a fulltime varsity player the past three years. A versatile forward, Englehart has contributed nine goals and six assists (15 points) this season. He will attend the University of Buffalo where he will major in engineering and play club ice hockey.

Note from the coach:
“Jordan is kind of like a Swiss Army Knife – he’s a center, he’s a winger, he’s a defenseman,” coach Matt Montagna said. “We use him doing whatever, and he never, ever stops. He just goes and goes.
“He’s scored some big goals, he’s a really good defensive forward, and he brings consistency. Very rarely is he not the first guy back, very rarely is he not the first one in. He doesn’t say a lot, and he’s not a kid you worry about getting in trouble. He’s very tight-knit with the guys. He doesn’t complain, I’ve never seen him get upset. He’s just a good teammate, he’s a good guy, and he comes from a good family.”
