Lukas Chesla – Senior at Souderton Area High School
The Souderton senior has been a five-year member of the program. An excellent student, Chesla, who has endured some injuries along the way, is a forward and has seen action at both center and wing.

Note from the coach:
“Lukas is a well-liked kid,” coach Matt Montagna said. “He’s a kid who gives you everything he’s got. He’s an honest kid in the way he deals with you. He had a talk with me earlier this year – he didn’t like his role, and I said, ‘I’m sorry.’ He didn’t quit. He’s a kid who for four years has given everything he’s got to Souderton, and I appreciate him. I appreciate him a lot because he’s a nice kid.
“He’s a good teammate, and he’ll take any role on you ask him to. He’s seen the highest heights with us in the Flyers Cup final, and he went 0-16 with us, and there was never a doubt he was going to come back out and play. He never big-timed anybody. He just played – he’s all heart. I respect him, and as a coach, I appreciate kids like him. You don’t have a team without kids like him.”

About Lukas:
Best memory playing high school hockey:
Playing the Flyers Cup final sophomore year.
Part of the game I enjoy most: Obviously getting points is fun, but I really like the battles in front of the net and along the boards.
How did you get involved in hockey? As a kid, I was watching the Flyers in the playoffs, and I decided I wanted to learn how to skate because it looked like fun, and it went from there.
My role model is:  Probably Leonardo da Vinci. I admire innovators and outside-the-box thinkers, and he was the best of all.
Music on iPod:  Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd
Favorite food:  Pizza. I could live on pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Favorite class:  Clay Studio
Future plans:  I am going to school in Michigan to become a car designer, and I hope to play club hockey.
Four people I’d invite to a dinner party:  Albert Einstein, Wayne Gretzky, Leonardo da Vinci, Jimmy Page
