Bergey's Inc. SOL SHSHL Player of the Week: Owen Shields

Bergey’s Inc.
SOL SHSHL Player of the Week

This recognition is sponsored by Bergey’s Inc. Athletes are chosen based on nomination of coaches, and the recipient must be a positive presence on the ice and a credit to the game. Consideration also is given to the student-athlete’s standing in the school and community.

Owen Shields, Senior, Central Bucks West High School
A rare three-sport athlete, Shields, an alternate captain, provided veteran leadership to a young West squad. He saw action in all 18 regular season games, scoring eight goals and contributing seven assists for 15 points.

Note from the coach:
“Owen has been the model student-athlete during his years at CB West,” coach Dave Baun said. “He is the third in the Shields trilogy to play for us and like his older brothers before him, he has been a credit to our team and our school. Owen isn’t just a great hockey player, but he’s a fine student, a great football player, a member of the 4x800 relay team and the senior class president.  In every way possible, through his effort, commitment and leadership, Owen has made our school and every team he’s played on better.”
