Connor Walsh – Senior at Souderton Area High School
The senior defenseman contributed 13 assists for an Indian squad that advanced to the Flyers Cup final this season. A member of the Souderton Indians program since fourth grade, he is described by his coach as one of the best defensemen in the league “that no one has ever heard of or written about.” Walsh also excels in the classroom where he carries a 4.0 grade point average. He will be attending the University of Pittsburgh where he will major in Petroleum Engineering.

Note from the coach:
“He is the steadiest and calmest guy you will ever meet,” coach Matt Montagna said. “Connor Walsh came here as a fourth grader. He played a little bit of varsity as a freshman – he likes to joke that he picked up pucks and filled water bottles. Connor, over the years, is just so steady. He’s one of those kids that was able to keep the goal in front of him and just continued to work at it. When he came to his senior year, he just blossomed into a guy that had so much respect in that locker room. He really developed into a good hockey player over the last four years. He logged so many minutes. As a coach, you just depend on people like him because you depend on their attitude, their predictability. I knew what I was getting with him, and I liked that about him.
“He’s one of those guys you won’t hear anyone say anything bad about. Everybody likes Connor Walsh. He’s engaged here at school. He’s got a job between hockey and school. When I think of Connor, I think of a kid who’s respectful, but more than anything he’s just a kind guy, and he’s a very likeable kid. If you talk to Connor, he’s just the nicest guy, and he’s a really good teammate. That’s what I like about him.”
