CB East's Daniels Commits to Bucknell

On Friday, Jan. 6, 2011, Central Bucks East senior Liz Daniels was recognized for signing a letter of intent to run track at Bucknell University

Liz Daniels – Bucknell University (Track)

Major:  Undecided

Final list of colleges:  Bucknell, Cornell, Lehigh

Reasons for choosing Bucknell: “I never really thought I would go to a small school, but when I went on my official visit in September, I just thought it was the place for me. I met the team, and the team was awesome. The coach was relaxed, and the facilities are really nice too.”

What was the progression that led to competing in track at the collegiate level? “I have been running since fourth grade. It’s been a huge part of my life. Everything revolves around track.

“I knew what I wanted – I didn’t want to look at a lot of schools. Bucknell was always there.”

CB East coach Sam Losorelli:  “I have known Liz since fourth grade when she ran CYO. She’s always run the sprints and always, always been very successful. One of the attributes I’ve always admired about Liz is that she is very, very competitive. Just recently I told her we had films of her, and when she would get the baton, just the fierce look on her face of being competitive is tremendous. She’ll do quite well at Bucknell. She’s dedicated, and she loves to run. Rarely have we ever heard her complain.”

CB East coach Steve Martin:  “I have been coaching Liz since 10th grade, and she’s extremely coachable. I have seen her grow from 10th grade to her senior year, not just growing as an athlete but growing as a person and becoming more of a leader and mentoring the underclassmen. She’s extremely competitive, and she enjoys the sport, which is half the fun. It’s nice for us as coaches to have athletes like that because it makes the job a lot easier. I think she will be a tremendous asset to Bucknell as well.”
