Events will honor women affected by breast cancer and raise funds for breast cancer patients in our community

DOYLESTOWN, Pa– The Central Bucks East and West Girls' Soccer teams, in partnership with Doylestown Hospital, will hold a Kick for Pink game on Tuesday, October 14, at War Memorial Field. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the event will raise funds to support women in our community who are being treated for breast cancer. The event will acknowledge women who are breast cancer survivors, have been affected by breast cancer, or are representing a woman who lost her life to the disease.

Two soccer games will be held during the event. The junior varsity game will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity game will begin at 7:00 p.m. The Central Bucks East and West Girls' Soccer teams invite members of the community to attend the games to show their support for breast cancer patients who are receiving treatment at the Cancer Institute of Doylestown Hospital.

Children 11 and under and young soccer players are invited to participate in a shoot-out against the Central Bucks East and West goalies during halftime.

The CB East and West teams are selling t-shirts, wristbands, luminaries, and random drawing tickets during the game.  Preorders for luminaries are available from either team by contacting Jan Dolf at girlseastsoccer@gmail.com or Ron Shaw at cbwestgirlssoccer@aol.com. In addition, the Penn Tap Room, 80 W. State Street, Doylestown, PA, held a fundraiser for the CB East and CB West Girls Soccer teams’ Kick for Pink campaign on Friday, October 3.

All proceeds from the events will directly support breast cancer patients who are receiving treatment at the Cancer Institute of Doylestown Hospital. Funds will help patients who cannot afford wigs, are underinsured or are not insured for cancer medications or treatment.

Local businesses and organizations are invited to donate or sponsor Kick for Pink in order to honor the women affected by breast cancer and help with the costs of the events.
