Anders Warfel – Lafayette College (Football)
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Final list of colleges: Lafayette, Bucknell, Holy Cross, Robert Morris, Shippensburg
Reasons for choosing Lafayette: 
“It was the education and the program. The football program there is really good, and the engineering program really brought out my best interests. I have family that lives two miles away from (Lafayette), so it was a good choice for me.”
What was the progression that led you to playing football at the collegiate level? “It was something my parents knew my freshman year that I had the ability to play. Around my sophomore and junior year, I started realizing if I put the work in I could definitely go somewhere real good.”
Coach Brian Hensel says: “From the day that Anders walked into our program, we were very excited. As a freshman, I remember him being about 6-4, 240 pounds, and we said, ‘Wow, what a kid,’ and he had big feet and big hands, so we knew he was going to continue to grow. When he ended up being 6-6 or 6-7 and 300 pounds, we weren’t surprised.
“The thing I love about Anders is he’s such a humble kid. He’s worked extremely hard for what he’s got. It was nice watching him evolve as a player over the last four years because he’s a bigger kid who never had a chance to play football as a younger kid because it’s weight classed – you saw a gangly kid who was trying to grow into his body. We saw that progression over the last four years. I’m excited to see what he will do at the college level as well. With that physical size, his potential is only going to go up because he’s still learning the game and has an opportunity to better himself at a great school like Lafayette.”
