Girls' Wrestling: Souderton Recap (1-7-24)

The Souderton Girls Wrestling team competed at the Penn Manor New Year’s Rumble tournament on Saturday, Jan. 6.

Souderton took 6th as a team out of over 20 teams, finishing with four finalists and three champions.
Senior Gisele Ramirez went 4-0 and won the tournament.  She was awarded Outstanding Wrestler of the event as she pinned the #2 and #3 ranked girls in the state. 

Junior Kayla Husti-Luca also went 4-0 and upset the #4 ranked girl in the state 3-0 in the finals. 

Gisele, Kayla and MacKenna are a combined 31-0 with 25 falls on the year.

Freshman MacKenna Atkinson (Ranked 2nd in the state) won her 4th tournament of the year and improved to 11-0. 

Sophomore Emily Sarr stormed through to the finals and took 2nd to #3 ranked in the state.

The girls are back in action next Saturday when Souderton hosts the inaugural Big Red Girls Individual Tournament at Souderton.  Wrestling starts at 9:30.
