Emily Mayhew – Bloomsburg University (Softball)
Major:
Exercise Science
Reasons for choosing Bloomsburg:  “I wanted a school that had my major, has great coaches, has girls that I could see myself playing with, and a place where I can see myself for the next four years. I found all four of those things in Bloomsburg.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate softball?  “I always knew I wanted to play softball at the collegiate level ever since I was little because I watched the girls on TV and knew I wanted to do that one day. I began to e-mail coaches and go to camps my sophomore year. I was told I had potential to play in college by multiple people, and it all worked itself out.”
Coach Paul Koehler says:  “Emily is our starting leftfielder. Bloomsburg coach Susan Kocher is probably most excited about her hitting ability. She’s a legitimate power hitter and has a better than average arm from left field to throw out runners basically at any base. She just absolutely loves to play the game, and those are the things they are looking for.”

Bridget Casey – Bloomsburg University (Softball)
Major:
Undecided
Reasons for choosing Bloomsburg:  “The atmosphere – when I visited, it just felt right. It helps that the campus is nice. I think I will have a lot of opportunities here more than somewhere else.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate softball?  “I love the sport, and I cannot imagine not playing it. It’s all I know.”
Coach Paul Koehler says:  “Bridget plays center field and will be one of our captains this year. In talking to Bloomsburg coach Susan Kocher over the summer, she was impressed by Bridget’s work ethic. She has better than average speed, and she loves to play the game. She will fit at Bloomsburg both academically and softball-wise.
“Bridget and Emily have played together since they were eight years old, and for them to play together at the collegiate level – that can be an anxious time to walk in and not know anybody. A team helps that transition be a little easier. If you know someone, it can be more exciting and more fun. I think it will be a great place for both of them.”

Favorite movie:  Blindside
