Continental Conference Millennium Administrators Highlighted Player
Katelyn Miller – Central Bucks East High School

One of five seniors starters, Miller was a threat from long range and averaged close to 10 points a game down the homestretch of the season, but it was on the defensive end that she left her mark for an East squad that was the 22nd seed in districts but advanced to the state tournament.

Note from the coach:
“Katelyn really came on strong towards the end of the season and during the playoffs on offense, but she had been a steady presence all year on not only offense and defense but as a vocal leader for the team,” coach Liz Potash said. “Katelyn is a very smart help defender, which is not an easy task. She always understood the defensive game plan and was able to execute it. Offensively, ever since our home CB West game, she made some big-time shots, which kept us in games. Katelyn is a positive person that is always encouraging her teammates and is a great role model for the underclassmen.”
About Katelyn:
Best memory playing basketball:
Beating CB West my senior year in overtime by one point.
Part of the game I enjoy most: I enjoy defense the most because no matter how you are playing offensively, you can work hard and make a difference.
My role model is:  My grandmother, who is 95.
Music that gets me pumped before games: Christian music
Favorite TV show: Grey’s Anatomy
Chocolate or vanilla:  Vanilla

Continental Conference Millennium Administrators Highlighted Player
Katie O’Connor – Souderton Area High School
The senior captain provided a spark to the Indians while also contributing positive leadership. A threat from long range, she averaged close to seven points to go along with three rebounds and 3.2 assists.

Note from the coach:
“Katie O'Connor is the kind of student-athlete that coaches love to have in their program,” coach Lynn Carroll said. “She excels in the classroom and has a work ethic second to none on the basketball court.  She has been a great role model for her teammates and really flourished as a leader and captain this year.  Katie has always been the kind of player who does whatever her coaches ask of her.  She has been committed to this program year-round for the last four years. I can probably count on one hand the number of offseason activities she has missed.  On the court, she has contributed a great deal to the success we have had the last two years.  She led our team in three-point percentage and assists this season and is the definition of team player.  I know I speak for all of her teammates and coaches when I say that we will miss having Katie as a part of our program next year.”

About Katie:
Best memory playing basketball:
Winning the team’s first away playoff game against Ridley this season. As a team, we really came together and played our hearts out. All of us were so pumped on the bus ride home. It was just a great experience we all got to share together.
Part of the game I enjoy most:  The last few minutes of very close games where everything matters and everyone is playing their heart out. It’s the most exciting yet nerveracking experiences, but I live for those moments. There’s so much adrenaline in your body, and you just give everything you got to win.
My role model is:  My mom. She has taught me how to be strong and overcome any challenge I face in life.
Music that gets me pumped before games: Old rap songs and One Republic
Favorite food: Ice Cream
Favorite TV show:  The Voice and The Big Bang Theory
Chocolate or vanilla:  Vanilla
