Cody Minnig – Penn State University (Track)

Major: Undecided

Final list of colleges:  Penn State, Syracuse, Connecticut, Kentucky

Reasons for choosing Penn State:  “They gave me an good offer, and since I’m undecided on a major, they have a huge list of majors I can go into. It’s a great school, the team is really good, and I liked the coach.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in track at the collegiate level?  “I started thinking about it probably around my sophomore year. Once I got my first big letter – I got a letter from Tennessee at the end of last year, and I started getting letters from a lot of big schools. To have this happen is wonderful, and it’s so stress relieving finally picking a college.”

Coach Russ Horrocks says:  “Cody is an amazing athlete with a lot of really strong potential. He’s a natural athlete, and basically, all we had to do was work with his ability and zero in on the different events he performs in. He runs and he jumps, and his primary asset is his speed, but the biggest thing with him is he’s just a natural athlete, and he really has no problem picking things up quickly.”
