Redskins Capture Title of Wildcat Invitational at Dallastown

Neshaminy’s storybook season continued Saturday when the Redskins won the championship of the 2014 Wildcat Invitational at Dallastown High School. The ‘Skins compiled a 12-2 record overall.

The Redskins finished second in their pool, defeating Manheim Township (30-16), Daniel Boone (30-23) and Lower Dauphin (30-24) but falling to Red Lion (17-30). In crossover play, the Redskins defeated York Suburban 31-29, advancing to the playoffs.

In playoff action, the Redskins defeated Dallastown 2-0 (18-16, 15-11) and then downed Chambersburg 2-0 (15-7, 15-8). The Redskins went on to defeat highly regarded Hempfield 2-1 (21-25, 25-19, 15-11) and then swept Exeter 2-0 (25-15, 25-21).

Setter Chase Fullen had a busy day, dishing off 130 assists and also contributing 15 kills, three aces and 10 digs. Ryan Jamison led the Redskins at the net with 68 kills to go along with nine aces, 11 blocks and 38 digs.

Also stepping up were Stephen Compton (23 kills, four aces, five blocks, 35 digs), Dan Inemer (17 kills, 14 blocks), Jake Murray (23 kills, five aces, nine blocks), JP Fay (30 digs, five assists, three aces), Corey LaQuay (six kills, six blocks) and Mike Gulla (19 digs, four aces, three assists).
