On Monday, May 22, 2023, Pennridge senior Maia Machado was recognized for committing to continue her field hockey career at Moravian University.

Reasons for choosing Moravian: “I chose Moravian because of the field hockey team and coaching. They all welcomed me
with open arms, and they strive to get better every day. I also chose this school because my sister went there, and I got to see and hear about the teaching program, and it all felt right.”
Coach Becky Spahr says: “Maia started for us for four seasons yet was never content. She improved every offseason and was so consistent and reliable in goal. Maia earned a ton of honors and awards at Pennridge, but she will be remembered and missed because of her love for our program and her teammates. Moravian is incredibly lucky to have the next four years with Maia, and I cannot wait to watch her grow and succeed.”
