Pennsbury High School – week of 01/20/20

Meets versus CR South & Abington

The Pennsbury Swim and Dive teams continued their in conference competition this week with two SOL National Conference meets. The Falcons started the week defeating Council Rock South on Tuesday, 1/21/20. The boys’ team showed dominance throughout the meet winning 100-78, with 13 points contributed by the divers. While the girls faced some stiff competition and came out on top 104-81, with 13 points contributed by the divers. The girls were led by double event winner Brooke Garretson (200 IM, 100 FL) and received additional wins in close races won by Mackenzie Cicco (200 FR), Maggie Sweitzer (100 FR), and Avery Stimmel (100 BR). Season bests swims were turned in by Tyler Babel (50 FR, 100 FL), Brian Kim (200 IM), Paula Ribeiro De Souza (100 BR), Hayden Rhoads (500 FR), and Shreeya Gounder (100 BK).

The Falcons showcased their depth on the road against Abington on Thursday, 1/24/20. The boys took the victory 118-67, with 9 points from diving and the girls won 108-78, with 7 points from diving. Impressive performances were turned in by Ryan Ward (200 IM), Alex Hludzinski (500 FR), Celia Dolan (200 FR), Kenzie Hamer (500 FR), and Reilly McCloskey (100 BR).

PHS This Week:  Pennsbury finishes in conference competition next week with Council Rock North away on Tuesday, 1/28/20, and also swims PA state powerhouse North Penn on Thursday, 1/30/20, at home for senior recognition night.
