Pennsbury recap: CR North & North Penn
The Pennsbury Swim and Dive team finished in conference competition on the road Tuesday, 1/28/20, against Council Rock North. The stakes were high as both teams arrived for the meet undefeated in the SOL National Conference. The Falcons battled from start to finish, however the team fell short to a fast and well-coached North squad. The boys lost 78-108, with 11 points contributed by the divers, while the girls fell 86-100, with 11 points contributed by the divers.
On the boys’ side, the Falcons were led by double event winner Will Dietch (50 FR, 100 FR), and on the girls’ side, Avery Stimmel was a double event winner (50 FR, 100 BR). Other individual event winners for the Falcons included Ryan Ward (200 FR), Kassidy Georgevich (diving), Luke Parada (diving), and Mackenzie Cicco (500 FR). Additional standout performances included Ben Brown (200 FR, 500 FR), Tyler Babel (50 FR, 100 FL), Jaden Sanner (100 FR), Maggie Sweitzer (200 FR, 100 FR), Celia Dolan (50 FR, 100 FR), and Suzy Hludzinski (50 FR, 100 FR).
On Thursday, 1/30/20, Pennsbury celebrated their senior athletes at home against North Penn. Congratulations to the Pennsbury class of 2020 Swim and Dive team members: Tyler Babel, Josh Cohen, Will Deitch, Celia Dolan, Brooke Garretson, Sam Grossman, Caroline Hansbury, Keira Korzeb, Sam Mongiello, Damian Szlaga, Sanjay Vinnakota, Ben Wachspress, and Kyle Weber.
The Falcons were bested by one of Pennsylvania’s top teams. The boys lost 80-104, with 8 points from diving, while the girls fell 80-106, with 7 points from diving. Rock stars of the meet included all of Pennsbury’s fabulous seniors, and lifetime bests were turned in by Sanjay Vinnakota (50 FR), Valerie Lawton (200 FR), Reagan Ward (200 IM), and Jess Allen (500 FR).
