Pennsbury Volleyball Makes it to the Semi-Finals of the Koller Classic at Central York

Submitted by Pennsbury Boys Volleyball

Pennsbury had a nice showing this Saturday in arguably one of the best high school boys volleyball tournaments in PA. The tournament featured five top ten AAA schools and five top ten AA schools in its twenty team tournament.

The Falcons got a particularly strong performance from senior middle hitter Dalton Zimmerman. Dalton finished the day with 30 kills, hitting .368 with 2 aces, 4 digs, and 5 blocks. Daltons 57 attack attempts and 30 kills were the second most for Pennsbury on the day, only Junior opposite Pat Merrick had more attempts and more kills (101 attempts, 38 kills). The Falcons finished in 2nd place in their pool behind District 3 Hempfield and fought hard to eventually lose in the Semi-Finals to the #2AA team in PA, York Suburban.

Overall Pennsbury never seemed to quite get it going in all aspects, but were able to still have success. Throughout the day the Falcons played consistently good on defense with Troy Pereira and Sean Kropp leading the way with 26 and 25 digs respectively. Dalton Zimmerman and a variety of players took their turn carrying their team to a victory with their strong offensive performances.
