(Submitted by Pennsbury swimming)

The swimming competition season officially began this week on the road with Pennsbury taking on rival Neshaminy at Poquessing Middle School. Both teams finished on top with the girls defeating Neshaminy 97-71 and the boys 99-68. The girls’ team was led by double event winner sophomore Mackenzie Cicco (200 IM, 500 FR), while the boys’ team swept all three relays and were led by double event winners senior Dhanvi Shivadevuni (50 FR, 100 FL) and freshman Jacob Strockoz (200 IM, 500 FR). Additional standout performances for the Falcons included Hayden Rhoades (200 FR), Avery Stimmel (50 FR), Paula Ribeiro (50 FR), Brenna Veitz (100 FR), Ryan Ward (200 FR, 100 BK), Brian Kim (100 FL) and Neil Griesbaum (500 FR).

It was exciting to see the teams back together, to have the swimmers get a feel for racing and to see one another supporting each other. We are looking forward to next week’s races and watching our divers in action.
