FEASTERVILLE,Pa- Plymouth Whitemarsh and Council Rock South on Thurs. 17 Jan. 2013 each had five total girls available at Brunswick Zone. Ali Stazak, PW's usual leadoff, had not been available to make this nonleague trip along with nine other Lady Colonials. Gabbi Gioia set a high school career-best 204 in the first set, junior anchor Jamie Pugielli rolled 165, 167, and 148 for a match-high 480 series, and Susan JanFransisco struck out a Turkey in her second set 10th frame for a 176 count as the Lady Colonials swept the host Golden Hawks four games to zero (1,963-1,729). Rebecca Begnaud, sister of 2011-2012 Lady Colonial Clarissa, had been the leadoff girl for PW in this match, recording 94 in the first set with a pair of 106 in the next two for a 306 series. Vickie Schneider's 159 third set and 419 series led the Golden Hawks, who have never been swept by the Lady Colonials in previous meetings. When the two squads last met back on Thurs. 13 Dec. 2012 at Facenda Whitaker Lanes in Norristown, the host Lady Colonials were victorious against the Golden Hawks, 3-1. Last season (2011-2012), Plymouth Whitemarsh and Council Rock South had cancelled a nonleague clash, which would have been held in Feasterville. The Lady Colonials had not visited Brunswick Zone since 1 Feb. 2010 when PW's Amy Costello rolled a season-best 258, except the Golden Hawks still found a way sweeping the visiting Colonials, and the Golden Hawks did not have current coach McMillin as their head coach.
The Lady Colonials had played their third match in the previous four days, visiting Pennridge (Mon 14 Jan. 2013) and hosting Hatboro-Horsham (Wed 16 Jan. 2013).
