The Rebels AAU eighth grade tryout announcement is sponsored by the Rebels AAU.
The Rebels AAU 8th grade basketball team is hosting a tryout on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, 6:15 pm to 8:00 pm. Tryouts will be held in the main gym at the Newtown Athletic Club. This tryout is mandatory for anyone interested in playing. The Rebels will hold practices throughout the spring and summer at several gymnasiums within the Council Rock School District.
Last year, the Rebels won several high profile tournaments, including the NJ Shore Shootout and the CES King of Prussia Invitational. This year, the Rebels have been invited to several premiere invitation-only tournaments on the east coast that will feature the top AAU programs during the live period for college coaches and scouts to attend.
The team is coached by Adam Bowen, who is entering his sixth AAU season. Some former local high school standouts and current NCAA D1 players include Villanova’s Ryan Arcidiacono (Neshaminy), Penn State’s Donovan Jack (Reading), UMBC’s Aaron Morgan (Council Rock North), and Vermont’s Brendan Kilpatrick (Malvern Prep).
