BENSALEM 7, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 5

The Owls picked up their second win of the season, and it was a big one. Alex Hood’s four-goal effort led the charge for Bensalem.
East got off to a good enough start when Gavin Widner scored 40 seconds into the contest, using assists from Carter Keiser and Corey Kosick. The rest of the period belonged to the Owls, who answered with three straight goals.
Hood scored an empty net goal with assists from Danny Mackley, and two minutes later, Hood scored again, this one unassisted. A goal by Lucas Gonzalez (Colin Spear assist) gave the Owls a 3-1 lead heading into the second period.
East’s Corey Kosick scored with a Carter Keiser assist, and then it was Bensalem reeling off three straight goals. Gonzalez started the run with an unassisted goal, and then it was Matt Rowan scoring with an Alex Bazylevich assist. Hood completed his hat trick with a goal that put the Owls on top 6-2, using a Danny Klein assist. East’s Christian Asiakopoulos scored late in the period to make it a 6-3 game heading into the final quarter.
The Patriots did not go down quietly. Kosick scored just under four minutes into the period with assists from Carter Keiser and Kyle McIntyre, and things got very interesting when Kosick scored 12:18 into the period with a Gavin Widmer assist to make it a 6-5 game.
Bensalem’s defense prevailed, and Hood’s empty net goal gave the Owls their final margin of victory.
Ricky Gonzalez earned the win in goal, turning away 33 shots.

ABINGTON 5, QUAKERTOWN 4
The Ghosts found themselves trailing the Panthers 3-2 late in the third period but - sparked by a goal by Ian Heydt (Sam Abramson assist) - reeled off three straight goals and then held off a tenacious Quakertown squad.
The two teams headed into the final period deadlocked 3-3 after Heydt's goal, and it was a power play goal by Heydt 5:22 into the final period (Matthew Kramer assist) that gave the Ghosts a lead they would not lose. Just over a minute later, Kramer (Ryan Portner) added an insurance goal that turned out to be the difference in the game. 
Quakertown made things real interesting when Lucas Cunnane scored 10:34 into the period to make it a one-goal game. Josh Tolchin and Keira Shaw assisted. The Ghosts, however, would not be denied, holding on for the win.
Earlier, Quakertown took a 1-0 lead when Corbin Cassel turned a pass from Tolchin into a goal just over a minute into the game. Abington answered with a goal by Sam Paulik (Pat Stelacio assist) 6:33 into the second period. Cunnane scored three minutes later to put the Panthers back on top, but Abramson (Kramer/Selacio assists) connected for the equalizer. Connor Ellmore (William Shaw/Keira Shaw assists) gave the Panthers their final lead 13 minutes into the third period, setting the stage for the dramatic finish.
Stelacio (3 assists) and Kramer (1 goal, 2 assists) both had three-point nights to lead the Ghosts.
Abington's Sam Nemec recorded 47 saves in an outstanding effort in goal. His counterpart, Quakertown's Matthew Krem, had 42 saves.

Thursday, Dec. 8
PENNRIDGE 5, SOUDERTON 1

The Indians hung tough, battling the Rams to a scoreless tie after one period as Souderton goalie Noah Connor turned away all 21 Pennridge shots he faced.
In the second period, the Rams discovered the key to finding the net, scoring three unanswered goals. Dane Fitchett scored 5:25 into the period with an assist from Trey Mikulich. Seven minutes later Kevin Pico turned an Andrew Savona pass into a goal, and when Colin Dachowski scored with a Mikulich assist, the Rams led 3-0.
Pico found the net with his second goal 29 seconds into the third period, this one unassisted. Souderton’s Seth Grossman scored with a Maxwell Ryon assist as the Indians averted the shutout. Savona’s goal with assists from Pico and Mikulich closed out the scoring.
Mikulich (3 assists) and Pico (2 goals, 1 assist) led the Rams’ attack.
Jacob Gilbert turned away 20 of 21 shots he faced in a winning performance in goal for the Rams. Connor recorded 51 saves in a standout effort of his own for the Indians.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 4, WISSAHICKON 3
Christopher Maslij was a difference maker in goal in last Thursday’s game against neighboring Wissahickon. The Colonials’ goalie stopped 35 of 38 shots he faced, effectively negating Wissahickon’s 38-18 advantage in shots.
Jack Aebiger scored with an assist from John Kufner 10 minutes into the opening period to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead. Five minutes later, Konrad Foulk scored with assists from Danny Hussa and Nolan Pounds to give Wissahickon a two-goal edge, but the Colonials made it a 2-1 game when Daniel Guller connected on a power play goal, using assists from Nolan Novitski and Jayson Yoder.
PW opened the second period with three unanswered goals. Matthew Flynn connected on the equalizer 2:15 into the period, using assists from Isaac Mishkin and Jayson Yoder. Twenty-three second later Jeffrey Menchken scored the go-ahead goal with assists from Novitski and Yoder. Matthew Flyyn’s goal with a David Branigan assist put the Colonials on top 4-2. Foulk’s goal with assists from Danny Hussa and Pounds made it a one-goal game late in the period. That score held the rest of the way.

Brendan Macainsh had himself a night.
The Falcons’ standout scored four goals and assisted on another to lead Pennsbury to the big win.
Pennsbury’s Justin Marlin scored 28 seconds into the contest, but nine minutes later, the Titans evened the score on a goal by Aidan Linso (Brad Cannon/Justin Montagna assist).
The Falcons seized control of the game with four straight goals to open the second period. Macainsh’s shorthanded goal 12 seconds into the period set the tone for the big period. Marlin followed with his second goal, this one with assists from Andrew Falkenstein and Logan Doyle. Shane Gleisner turned a Logan Doyle pass into a goal, and when Macainsh scored his second goal 6:14 into the period (Chris Sarver/Conor Kane assists), the Falcons led 5-1.
South’s Sean Cutter (Aidan Linso assist) and Macainsh (Marlin assist) exchanged goals in the closing minutes of the period. The Falcons took a 6-2 lead into the final period when they added a pair of goals. Sarver scored with assists from Jake McCaw and Macainsh, and Macainsh put the finishing touches on a big performance with his second power play goal of the game, this one with a Jake Seiler assist.
Aaron McDaniel recorded 26 saves to notch the win in goal.

NESHAMINY 4, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 2
Max Gallagher had a hand in three of his team’s four goals, scoring once and assisting on another to lead a balanced Redskin attack.
Jack Halloran scored the game’s first two goals – his first 4:26 into the opening period with assists from DJ Harris and Max Gallagher spotted the Redskins a 1-0 lead.
Halloran’s second with a Max Gallagher assist – 6:50 into the second period – gave Neshaminy a 2-0 lead, but Nicholas Bruno scored a power play goal with a Luke Tremmel assist to make it a 2-1 game after two periods.
Jacob Adami’s goal with a Ryan DeMatteo assist gave the Redskins a 3-1 lead early in the third period. West’s Anthony Dowd pulled his team to within one, using a Tremmel assist. Gallagher got that goal back with an assist from Ryan DeMatteo, giving Neshaminy its final margin of victory.
Neshaminy’s Aidan Hullings was credited with 13 saves in a winning effort in goal. West’s Liam Rogers recorded 35 saves.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 7, WISSAHICKON 6
The Bucks trailed 6-2 late in the second period but erased that deficit with five straight goals to close out the game.
Nicholas Bruno scored an unassisted goal in the final seconds of the second period to make it a 6-3 game, igniting the Bucks heading into the final period.
Zane Sanders scored 1:39 into the final period, using a Brandon March assist, and three minutes later, Anthony Dowd scored an unassisted goal. Sammy Poliak’s unassisted goal six minutes into the period evened the score, and when Luke Tremmel scored with a Sanders assist 9:04 into the period, the Bucks had a lead they would not lose.
Earlier, Wissahickon appeared to be in command. Will Hussan scored with a Konrad Foulke assist 27 seconds into the contest, and then it was Nolan Pounds finding the net with an unassisted goal. West’s Sammy Poliak cut that lead in half late in the opening period to make it a 2-1 game.
Tremmel scored the equalizer with a Bruno assist three minutes into the second period only to see the Trojans reel off four unanswered goals to go on top 6-1. Hussa scored his second goal with a Pounds assist, and then it was John Kufner finding the net with a Griffin Lynch assist.
Matthew Winkowski (Pounds assist) scored seven minutes into the second period, and five minutes later Kufner scored with an Evan McCutcheon assist for a 6-2 Trojan lead that turned out to be anything but secure.
West goalie Kyle Fasolak turned away 49 of 55 shots in a winning effort.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 8, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 2
Shaun Epstein and Chase Tovsky were facilitators in Rock South’s win over the archrival Indians as both contributed three assists. Seven different players scored goals in a win that was the consummate team effort.
The Golden Hawks opened up a 2-0 lead after one period. Blaize Pepe (James Dilulio/Tovsky assists) and Jeremy Rayher (Jake Weiner/Illia Mukhin assists) each scored a goal.
Lucas Siomos cut that lead in half, using assists from Daniel Maglathlin and Noah Epstein, but Gavin Nisenzon answered with a goal for the Golden Hawks (Epstein/Bobby Gilbert assists), and Rock South led 3-1 after two period.
The Golden Hawks stretched its lead to 4-1 after a goal by Weiner (Rayher/Mukhin assists) less than a minute into the third period. Nicholas Hahn scored with the Indians, using a Jackson Accardi assist, but the rest of the game belonged to the Golden Hawks, who closed out the period with four unanswered goals – one each from Dilulio (Tovsky/Ilya Kudzinau assists), Peter Pereborrow (Jonah Weston/Epstein assists), Nisenzon (Pepe/Tovsky assists) and Gilbert (Weston/Epstein assists). Nisenzon’s goal came on the power play.
Trevor Rakszawski earned the win in goal for the Golden Hawks, turning away 22 of 24 shots. Rock North’s Ian Goldberg had 44 saves.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 10, NORTH PENN 2
Aydin Thierolf connected for a hat trick and also had an assist. His four-point night led the Titans to the big win.
Aidan Linso put the Titans on the scoreboard just over four minutes into the game, and Thirolf’s short-handed goal just over a minute later (Linso assist) gave the Titans an early 2-0 lead. Thierolf’s second goal 10:25 into the period, this one with a DJ Lindenmuth assist), was followed less than a minute later by North Penn’s first goal of the game. Cole Pluck scored with an assist from Matthew Yothers for the Knights, but the Titans got that goal back when Colin Mendham scored a short-handed goal, giving CB South a 4-1 lead after one period.
In the second period, the Titans scored four unanswered goals with one each by Ryan Frey (Keith Waldron assist), Lindenmuth on the power play (Theirolf assist), Jonah Smith (Matt Crouch assist) and Thierolf.
The Titans, who took an 8-1 lead into the final period, added to their advantage with a goal by Matt Crouch. John Stinson’s unassisted goal broke the scoring drought for North Penn. Smith closed out the scoring with his second goal of the game, using a Justin Montagna assist.
