SOUDERTON 10, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 9
Souderton took what appeared to be a commanding 9-5 lead into the third period of Friday’s game against Rock North. It turned out to be anything but secure as the host Indians rallied and pulled to within one with 40 seconds remaining after a goal by Ryan Keil (Ivan Bondra assist). Souderton held on to eke out the win in a wild one at Bucks County Ice.
Nicholas Smith scored four goals and added an assist to lead the visiting Indians. He opened the game with back-to-back goals – the first unassisted and the second with a Jackson Kelly assist. A goal by Maxwell Ryon (Cameron Fairweather) gave Souderton a 3-0 lead midway through the opening period.
Rock North’s Nicholas Hahn scored with a Jackson Accardi assist only to see Smith answer with back-to-back goals to give Souderton a 5-1 advantage – the first with a Matthew Cross assist.
Accardi scored with an Ivan Bondra assist with 1:19 remaining in the period to make it a 5-2 game, That lead disappeared in a hurry when Hahn (Ryan Keil assist), Accardi (Michael Booth/Keil assists) and Keil (Hahn assist) opened the second period with three unanswered goals to knot the score.
Souderton responded with four straight goals of its own – the first two by Ryon and then single goals from Matthew Malanga and Cameron Fairweather. The visiting Indians took that 9-5 lead into the final period.
Drew Bordon and Hahn each scored a single to make it a 9-7 game with 12:18 remaining. Malanga temporarily stemmed the tide with a goal with 6:42 remaining, using a Drew Savarese assist. Rock North came roaring back with goals by Michael Booth and Keil to pull to within one, but that’s as close as the host Indians would get.
Souderton held a 34-29 advantage in shots. Connor Paulus earned the win in goal (20 saves).

Thursday, Dec. 21
PENNRIDGE 3, PENNSBURY 2

James Rush turned a Jared Garber pass into a goal with 6:05 remaining in regulation, propelling the Rams to a hard-fought win over a young Falcon squad in a classic battle at Grundy. The two teams entered the third period deadlocked 2-2, and an indication of just how evenly played this game was – Pennsbury held a slim 23-22 advantage in shots after two periods.
A recap of the scoring would show that Shane Dachowski (Andrew Savona/Rush assists) found the net on a power play goal with 7:19 remaining in the first period. Four minutes later, Pennsbury evened the score on a goal by Shane Glesiner (Jason Fowler assist). With five seconds remaining in the period, Savona scored with a Kevin Pico assist to put the Rams on top 2-1.
Midway through the second period, Logan Doyle connected on the equalizer for the Falcons, using a Jacob Sarver assist. That tie stood until Rush scored with six minutes remaining in regulation.
Jacob Winton notched the win in goal for the Rams, turning away 31 of 33 Falcon shots. Aaron McDaniel had 34 saves for the Falcons.

HATBORO-HORSHAM/UPPER DUBLIN 8, ABINGTON 3
The Ghosts trailed by just one (4-3) after a goal by Jamison Donofry in the opening minutes of the third period. That turned out to be their last hurrah as Hatboro-Horsham/Upper Dublin reeled off four unanswered goals in a strong finish.
William Hurlburt (2 goals, 2 assists) and Kevin McGinly (3 goals, 1 assist) led a balanced HH/UD attack.
Thomas Neeld (Hurlburt/McGinly assists) scored the only goal of the opening period, connecting on a power play goal with 2:54 remaining in the period.
An unassisted goal by Victor Wilkins early in the second period made it a 2-0 game, but Abington’s Samuel Abramson (Jude Large/Michael Romano assists) cut that lead in half with a goal two minutes later. Nathan Nemchinov’s unassisted goal put HH/UD on top 3-1, but it was answered by Abington’s Shane Meltzer finding the net on a power play goal with a Romano assist.
Kevin McGinley scored with an assist from Hurlburt to send HH/UD into the third period with a 4-2 lead only to see Donofry trim that to one. McGinly reponded with back-to-back goals for HH/UD, and Hurlburt closed it out with back-to-back goals of his own.
HH/UD goalie Max Kepniss was credited with 16 saves in the win.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 12, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1
The Titans led 4-1 after one period and brought an early end to the game with an eight-goal outburst in the second period. Logan Hood’s five-point game led a balanced Titan attack and included three goals and two assists.
It was a 0-0 game until DJ Lindenmuth connected for an unassisted goal with 4:55 remaining in the first period. That opened the floodgates. Ryan Frey (Jake Kunkle/Sean Cutter assists) scored just over a minute later, and then it was Lindenmuth scoring his second goal, this one with assists from Joey Slobodrian and Colin Mendham.
West’s Nicholas Bruno scored with an assist from Zane Sanders with 51 seconds remaining in the period, but Jeffrey Kvecher got that goal back, connecting with 20 seconds left with assists from Keith Waldron and Hood.
The second period included three goals from Hood as well as single goals from Slobodrian, Lindenmuth, Kvecher, Jake Sciscio and Ryan Frey.
Nathan Napolitano was credited with 14 saves in goal in a winning effort for the Titans, who held a 38-15 advantage in shots.

Wednesday, Dec. 20
NORTH PENN 4, NESHAMINY 1

The Knights raised their record to 6-3-0 with a hard-fought win over the Redskins in a defensive battle at Grundy. NP goalie Aidan Quigley was impressive between the pipes, turning away 27 of 28 shots he faced.
Samuel Norton scored the only goal of the first period with 5:27 remaining, using a Cole Pluck assist. The two teams combined for 26 shots in the quarter with the Knights accounting for 14 of them. Quigley stopped all 12 shots he faced.
Pluck turned a Nolan Shingle pass into a goal early in the second period, giving the Knights a 2-0 advantage, but Neshaminy cut that in half when Coleman Boles scored midway through the period with assists from Jacob Topoleski and Carter Lennon.
The Knights took a 2-1 lead into the third period when they added a pair. Matthew Yothers (Chase Kelly Del Ricci assist) scored with 10 minutes remaining in regulation, and Pluck scored an unassisted goal on a power play with just over a minute remaining for the 4-1 final.

PENNSBURY 7, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 2
Shane Gleisner had a hand in four goals, scoring once and assisting on three others to lead the Falcons to their third win of the season.
It was a 2-2 game after West’s Anthony Dowd connected for his second goal of the game in the opening minute of the second period. Earlier Logan Doyle and Conor Kane sandwiched goals around Dowd’s first score, giving the Falcons a 2-1 lead after one period.
Five minutes after Dowd scored the equalizer, Christopher Sarver scored a goal that turned out to be the game-winner, using a Gleisner assist. Shane Hicks (unassisted) and Sarver (Stephen Grosscup assist) each added a goal to send the Falcons into the third period with a 5-2 lead.

Goals by Sarver (Gleisner/Francis DeLucia assist) and Gleisner (Kevin DeRosa assist) closed out the scoring in the third period.
Pennsbury’s Aaron McDaniel earned the win in goal, turning away 25 of 27 shots. The Falcons held a 34-27 advantage in shots.

BENSALEM 9, SPRINGFIELD 4
Alex Hood had another big night for the Owls, scoring four goals and assisting on two others, but the Owls – who led by just a 5-4 score after two periods - needed a big third period to put the game.
They got just that.
Bensalem outscored Springfield 4-0 in the final period, thanks to goals by Brandon Stahl (Lucas Gonzalez assist), Gonzalez (Stahl assist), Alex Bazylevich (Calton Morelli/Hood assists) and Hood (Bazylevich assist).
Hood opened the game with back-to-back goals – the first unassisted and the second with a Gonzalez assist), but Springfield’s Kenny Granderson (Christopher Cahill/Gavin McManus assists) scored in the final minute of the period to make it a 2-1 game.
The Owls appeared to be in command after Stahl (Cole Salayda/Hood assists) and Hood (Gonzalez/Bazylevich assists) each scored a goal to open the second period, giving Bensalem a 4-1 advantage, but Springfield pulled to within one after goals by Thomas Manchester (Feliz Boccella/Gabriel Wells assists) and Richard Belles (Manchester/Wells assists).
Justin Rapone scored with a Salayda assist to put the Owls on top 5-3, but a goal by Springfield’s Owen Quinn (Belles/Cahill assists) trimmed that lead to one after two periods. The stage was set for Bensalem’s big third period.
Ricky Gonzalez earned the win in goal for Bensalem, turning away 28 of 32 shots. The Owls held a 36-32 edge in shots.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 11, WISSAHICKON 2
Dylan Novitski scored five goals and assisted on three others for an eight-point game that led the Colonials to the no-doubt-about-it win over the Trojans. Daniel Guller added two goals and three assists (five points), and David Branigan’s four-point game featured four assists.
The Trojans hung tough for one period, trailing by just a 2-1 score heading into the second period. Novitski scored both PW goals – the first with assists from Guller and Jayson Yoder and the second with assists from Branigan and Yoder. Daniel Hussa found the net for the Trojans, using assists from Joseph Gambino and Aiden Brooks.
Novitski completed his hat trick a minute into the second period, scoring with a Guller assist, but Hussa had an immediate answer, using a Nolan Pounds assist. Consecutive goals by Guller (Novitski assist), Novitski (Guller assist) and Guller (Jason Segal assist) sent PW into the final period with a 6-2 advantage.
The Colonials closed it out with five unanswered goals – one each from Novitski, Ryan Jagher, Segal, Luke Smith and Timothy Murphy.
PW held a 50-25 advantage in shots. PW goalie Julian Lucks recorded 23 saves in the win.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 18, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 0
The Golden Hawks took care of business in a hurry, burying their sister school with 13 unanswered goals in the opening period. They brought an early end to the game with five more in the second period.
Jake Weiner’s goal with a Jake Maurer assist less than a minute into the game proved to be the game-winner.
Thirteen players contributed points with Illia Mukhin’s six-point game (4 goals, 2 assists) leading the balanced Rock South attack. Weiner (2 goals, 3 assists) and Jordan Sarne (1 goal, 4 assists) both had five-point games while Kevin Koles (3 goals, 1 assist), James Dilulio (1 goal, 3 assists) and Daniel Filippov (2 goals, 2 assists) each had four-point nights.
Ilya Kudzinau contributed two goals and an assist, and Evan Mostoller had a goal and an assist to complete the list of multi-point players.
The Golden Hawks held a commanding 33-4 advantage in shots.
Rock South goalie Trey Prozzillo was forced to make just four saves in the shutout win for the Hawks, who upped their record to 9-1-0 and have outscored their opponents 28-2 in their last two games.
