HATBORO-HORSHAM 5, UPPER MORELAND 1
Freshman Colin Kennedy was impressive in his first varsity career start on Saturday, throwing six innings and allowing one unearned run while upping his record to 2-0 on the year. The rookie hurler allowing five hits, walked one and struck out four. Junior Joe Simmons closed out the win for the Hatters, pitching a scoreless seventh inning and allowing just one base runner on a walk.
Of the five hits Kennedy allowed, three came off the bat of Golden Bear standout Charlie Hooker, who was 3-for-3 on the day with two doubles. Colton Hooker was 1-for-3 and Chris Corr was 1-for-2 for the Golden Bears.
Dennis Long absorbed the loss for the Golden Bears, working five innings and allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and five walks. Tommy Robinson pitched one inning, allowing a run on one hit. Kyle Irwin, who played solid defense at shortstop for the first six innings, moved to the mound and pitched a scoreless seventh inning for the Golden Bears.
The Hatters’ offense was paced by juniors Chris Crookham and Eric Lane. Crookham was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, a stolen base and a run scored. Lane was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Eric Thomas added a double and walked twice for the visitors.
The Hatters (9-4, 6-2 SOL) will return to Continental Conference action on Monday when they will host Souderton (5-3 SOL).

QUAKERTOWN 9, PALISADES 8 (8 innings)
Aaron Besch stole home, propelling the Panthers to the walk-off win in eight innings against the Pirates. Palisades scored a run in the top of the eighth before the Panthers scored two in the bottom of the frame.
Besch finished the day 2-for-4 with a stolen base while Can Delisle was 3-for-4 with a sacrifice. John Lilley was 2-for-2 with a walk, triple and three stolen bases. Pat San Angelo added a triple and stolen base.
On a day that saw the two teams combine for 22 hits – 11 by each team, the Panthers received solid relief pitching from Vinny LaCava, who earned the win. LaCava allowed one hit and one run (unearned) in two innings while walking one and striking out one.

HARRY S TRUMAN 7, EWING 5
The Tigers exploded for five runs in the third inning and won Saturday’s non-league contest with two more in the sixth inning. They received contributions up and down their lineup with Mark Lopez finishing 1-for-3 with two runs scored. Matt Shea with 1-for-3 with an RBI and run scored while Romeo Sturkey was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Mark Nusser was 1-for-1 with an RBI and run scored while Matt Walczak was 1-for-2 with an RBI and run scored. Both Trystin Hunt and Mike Cox were 1-for-2 with one RBI each.
