SOL Bowling shows well in Berks County Snow Roller Tournament

On Saturday December 21st, the North Penn boys and girls teams participated in the Snow Roller bowling tournament in Ephrata, Pa at Dutch lanes. The Knights of North Penn finished in first place in the qualifying round out of 26 teams. The qualifying round included three regulation games followed by three baker games.

The Knights along with Neshaminy earned first round byes in finishing first and second. The top six teams qualified for a baker game rolloff bracket.

First round Wyomissing defeated Elizabethtown and Pennridge defeated Warwick.

Second round Neshaminy defeated Wyomissing and North Penn defeated local rival Pennridge in a best of three games with game one (NP) 257- Pennridge (163, second game (NP) 174 - Pennridge 216 and deciding third game (NP) 191- Pennridge 181 thus sending (NP) into the final championship round against Suburban One opponent Neshaminy

With many of remaining  spectators from the other teams along with The Neshaminy fans joined in the large group of North Penn family and friends on to witness a very exciting championship match with each game coming down to the last frame.

North Penn won the first game  191-179. Second game went to Neshaminy 197-185, and the ball to ball last nail biting match went to Neshaminy 179-161. North Penn chances were hurt by a ninth frame pocket 7-10 spilt.

In the girls division North Penn finishes just shy of the qualifying round ending up in seventh place out of thirteen teams,,although two girls having their career high tournament scores - Gabby Verrillo (205) and Kelci Beatty ( 189).

All three Suburban One teams eliminated in the first round eventually won by Champion - Twin Valley.
