SOL Boys' Lacrosse PIAA Wrap (5-29-18)

#11-1 PARKLAND 14, #1-4 UPPER DUBLIN 7
The District 11 champion Trojans controlled the faceoff X and let it fuel the rest of their game on Tuesday.
Parkland won 19 faceoffs to just five for Upper Dublin and effectively used its transition game, ripping off a five-goal first quarter run that turned a 1-1 game into a 6-1 advantage.
Leading 7-2 after a quarter, Parkland kept its roll going while Upper Dublin never really found one of its own to lead 12-3 at the break.
"We didn't come to play and they did," UD coach Dave Sowers said. "The expectations weren't even to be here.
“We don't have any Division I players, we have a bunch of kids who play really, really hard. We ran into two good teams in Garnet Valley and Avon Grove and then we came up here and just weren't ready to play."
Cardinals’ senior goalie Dillion Lojeski stood up to a barrage of shots and made 18 saves. Jed Hanson led the Cardinals with a hat trick, Jerry Bardol had three assists and Max Winebrake added two goals.
Upper Dublin's senior class ended a three-year run that saw it win two SOL American titles, the 2016 District I title and make the state playoffs twice.
