NORTH PENN 17, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 8
Luke Homan scored six goals while Reece Udinski (three goals, three assists) also had a hand in six goals to lead the Knights to the big win in Thursday’s home opener.
The Knights wasted little time before seizing control, scoring six unanswered goals in the first quarter and adding six more in the second to go into halftime with a commanding 12-2 lead.
In addition to Homan and Udinski, Nic Conroy and Jake Diamond both contributed a hat trick as well as one assist. Nick Keim added a pair of goals, and Eric Diamond and Max Lehman both chipped in one assist.
Matt Rinck was credited with 10 saves in a winning effort in goal.
North Penn (1-0) will host Central Bucks South in its SOL opener on Tuesday (3:45 p.m.). Plymouth Whitemarsh (0-1) will travel to Upper Moreland on Tuesday for its conference opener.

PENNRIDGE 14, ABINGTON 1
The Rams opened their season with a no-doubt-about-it win over a Ghost squad that lost the bulk of its offensive punch from last season to graduation or injury. Sean Fechter was a one-man wrecking crew, contributing five goals and six assists as he had a hand in 11 of the Rams’ 14 goals.
Kyle Fanelli added four goals, and Bobby Maher had a hat trick. Nicholas Fanelli had a pair of goals while Chris Warner contributed three assists and Garner, one assist.
Pennridge opened up a 5-0 lead after one quarter and extended that to 10-0 by halftime.
Denton States was credited with seven saves in a winning effort in goal for the Rams.
Kevin Fitzgerald scored the Ghosts’ lone goal in the third period, using an assist from John Petriccione. Sophomore goalie Connor Reed turned away 10 shots.
Pennridge (1-0) will host Central Bucks East in its SOL opener on Tuesday, and Abington (0-1) will be on the road at Ridley for a non-league contest on Tuesday.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 12, WEST CHESTER RUSTIN 7
Will Ross scored seven goals and added a pair of assists in a glittering offensive performance while teammate Joey Rockovich added four goals and three assists in a standout effort of his own to lead the Bucks to the big win in Thursday’s opener.
The visiting Bucks raced to a 4-0 lead after one quarter and took a 7-3 lead into halftime. The two teams exchanged goals in the third quarter, and the Bucks outscored Rustin 3-1 in the final quarter.
Dawson Gable added a single goal for the Bucks while Jake Greenberg, Brandon Gervais, Tim Kiel, Nick Werner and Andrew Santacecilia each contributed an assist.
Goalie Steve Hogan was credited with 11 saves in a winning effort.
Central Bucks West (1-0) will host West Chester Henderson in a non-league contest on Monday (7 p.m.).

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 14, KENNETT 2

The Central Bucks East Patriots played their first game ever on Umbrell Field at Patriot Stadium and came away with a decisive victory over Kennett High School by a score of 14-2.
Junior Ryan Brown scored the first goal at Patriot Stadium, then went on to score five more goals in leading the East’s scoring attack. Ryan Schmidt, Brant Billingsley, and Ryan Bullotta each scored two goals, while Alec Bracken, Logan Nelsen chipped in with one goal apiece. Michael Ott led the Patriots with five assists. Alec Bracken, Grant Porter, and Brant Billingsley contributed one assist each. Michael Ott won 15 out of 15 face-offs.
Senior, Ian Mauer, was strong in goal as he was credited with six saves. The Patriots’ offense was very unselfish and exemplified patience as they passed up good shots to find better shots to wide open teammates.  The Patriots’ defense was dominant in limiting Kennett to just two goals. 
Nine players – Joe Thiroway, Ryan Schmidt, Conor Larkin, Logan Nelsen, Ryan Brown, Alec Bracken, Brant Billingsley, John Galow and Colin Stein – were credited with two ground balls each.
Bryan McIntosh, Thiroway, Billingsley, Brown, Austin Prime, Calmen Tihansky, Conor Larkin and Drew Bethke each had one caused turnover.
Central Bucks East (1-0) will travel to Pennridge on Tuesday for its SOL opener (7 p.m.).

GARNET VALLEY 15, HATBORO-HORSHAM 7

Hatboro-Horsham hosted Garnet Valley for its opening game of the spring season. After just one quarter, the Hatters trailed 3-1 with their single goal by Dylan Cellini. The second quarter did not help the Hatters’ cause as Garnet Valley capitalized on several won face-offs and a significant shot discrepancy. Garnet Valley led 7-1 at halftime.
The second half was better for the Hatters but not good enough to overturn the deficit, and the game finished 15-7 in favor of the away team. The Jaguars held a 35-28 advantage in shots.
Hatboro-Horsham’s goals were scored by Pierre Armstrong (2), Owen Winters, Bryan Remaily, Logan Eldridge, Cameron Knox and Dylan Cellini.
The Hatters (0-1) will host Souderton on Tuesday at 3:45 for their first league game of the season.

UPPER DARBY 8, CHELTENHAM 3
The Panthers battled the Royals to a 1-1 halftime tie in a non-league contest at Arcardia University on Thursday, but the Royals exploded for five goals in the pivotal third period on their way to the win.
Tim McHugh scored a pair of goals to lead the Panthers’ attack. Jade Siojo had one goal and five ground balls, and Daniel Lee had one assist and five ground balls. Harry Stackhouse also had an assist.
Goalie Kieran Boyle was credited with 18 saves in a strong outing.
The Royals were led by the four-goal effort of Pat Burke while Sean Burke added two goals and one assist. Jake Robinson and Pat Lynch each added single goals.
Cheltenham (0-1) will travel to Upper Merion for Tuesday’s SOL opener (4 p.m.).
