CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 11, NORTH PENN 5
(Submitted article by CB South)
LANSDALE, PA -- It was a seesaw battle at North Penn High School on Thursday afternoon, as the visiting Titans of Central Bucks South defeated the Knights 11-5.
The game started with the Titans outscoring the Knights 3-0 in the first quarter on goals by Anthony Paone, Brendan McGrath, and A. J. Caputo.  The Titans spent a lot of time in the Knights’ defensive zone, and when the Knights gained possession, the Titans’ defense stepped up, not allowing a single shot in the first quarter.
However, the seesaw dropped in the other direction in the second quarter as North Penn outscored CB South 3-0 to knot the score at 3 as the game hit halftime.  All three North Penn goals were deposited by Zach McKelvi.  CB South spent most of the second quarter killing off penalties and received stellar defensive work from Bobby DiBrino and Kevin Witchey, especially during a span of nearly two minutes, when they were two men down.
In the third quarter, the seesaw continued to go up and down.  The Titans scored the first two goals of the quarter (Jake Henze unassisted, and McGrath, while falling to his knees, assisted by Henze).  But then the Knights answered with two goals of their own, by McKelvi and Scott Keffer.  Anthony Paone scored his second of the game to give Central Bucks South a 6-5 edge heading into the final stanza.
It was in the final quarter that the Titans weighed down the North Penn net with five unanswered goals, lifting up their end of the seesaw for an 11 - 5 victory.  They got two fourth quarter goals from McGrath, along with one each from Jake Henze, Caputo, and Austin Naessens.
CB South goalie, Robby Richick earned the win with five saves in relief of Dillon Kelly, who started the game, making one save and allowing two goals.  North Penn goalie Chris Barr made 11 saves in the losing effort.
With the win, the Titans raise their record to 6 - 3.  They take on Pennridge next Wednesday night at War Memorial Field.
