SOL Boys' Lacrosse Wrap (4-5-13)

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 13, UPPER MERION 11
The Colonials opened up a 4-2 lead at the end of one quarter but saw that lead trimmed to 6-5 by halftime. PW got that goal back with a 4-3 third quarter, and both teams scored three goals in the fourth quarter.
Jack Brown (three goals, three assists) had a six-point day to lead PW while Corey Kelly (three goals, two assists) had a five-point afternoon. Ryan Kelly had a team-high four goals. John Walker added a pair, and Phil Carter had one goal.
Trevor Kupecky (one goal, five assists) and Mike Zadroga (three goals, three assists) led the Vikings with six points each. Joe Mintzer contributed the hat trick, and Nick Shendge had two goals and one assist. Tyler Thornton closed out the scoring with a pair of goals.
Riley White was credited with 10 saves in goal for PW while his counterpart, Troy Minnich, had 14 saves.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 11, SOUDERTON 3
The Patriots saw their string of eight consecutive shutout quarters – which spanned three games – come to an end when Souderton’s Cameron Trick scored with 4:11 remaining in the second quarter. The Indians added two additional goals – one by Trick and the other by Drew Nice, but it wasn’t nearly enough to derail the red hot Patriots.
Matt Heim led the Patriots with the hat trick while Cole Rushworth and Anthony Casselli each had two goals and one assist. Zach Kane and Matt Milici both had one goal and one assist. Matt Schmidt and Matt Brown each had one goal, and Geoff Kuhn was credited with three assists.
Cole Rushworth won 14 of 17 face offs. East goalies Sean McSherry (six saves) and Sean McGovern (four saves) combined for the win.
Defensively, Heim, Tyler Butler and Mike Eveland each had four ground balls to lead the Patriots.
Tyler MacDougall and Collin Asbury contributed assists for the Indians. Ridge Schultz, Colt Armstrong, Quinn Shere and Pete Walbrandt had three ground balls each. Remi Reeves was credited with 16 saves in goal for the Indians.
East is 5-0 (3-0 SOL) while Souderton fell to 3-2 (1-2 SOL).

HATBORO-HORSHAM 6, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 4
After battling to a 1-1 tie at the end of one quarter, the Titans outscored the Hatters 3-2 in the second quarter to go into halftime with a 4-3 lead. The Hatters turned up their defensive pressure in the second half, shutting out the Titans and scoring three unanswered goals.
Ryan Higgins led a balanced Hatter attack with two goals while Jimmy Durkin, Zach Irwine, Jimmy Murphy and Kyle Mullen each added single goals. Murphy and Ben Cellini each had one assist.
Connor Kreston turned in a solid all-around effort, doing the little things to help the Hatters secure the victory. Along with goalie Marc Poust (five saves), defenseman Jake Cresta, Matt McPoyle, Keith Cameron and TJ Keleher put on a strong second half showing. Murphy led the Hatters with five ground balls.
For the Titans, Jacob Snavely had two goals, and Anthony Paone had one goal and one assist. Brendan McGrath added one goal, and Jake Henze had an assist.
Ryan Kelly kept the Titans in the game with a dazzling 21-save effort in goal.
The Hatters, who will face North Penn on Thursday, are 2-0 in league play (3-2 overall). The Titans are 1-1 in the league (3-2 overall).

SPRINGFIELD 14, NORRISTOWN 7
The Spartans led 3-2 at the end of one quarter and took a 7-4 lead into halftime. They still led by three (10-7) after three quarters.
Sean Calhoun turned in the hat trick to lead the Eagles while Drew Baltrus had two goals and one assist. Mike Smith and Carson Lucard both had one goal and one assist.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 9, PENNRIDGE 7
The Bucks received a pair of goals from three different players - Riley Kratzke, Ryan Green and Jimmy Seykot.  Lucas Janos, Jimmy Steigerwald and Kyle Schechter each added single goals. Kratzke, Clark Hawes and Matt Kalapos all had one assist.
For the Rams, Alex Fernandez had a game-high three goals, and Ethan Clemmer had a pair of goals and an assist. Alex Heimbach added a goal and assist, and Jack Milligan had one goal. 
Both teams took 28 shots, and both goalies - West's Mike Harvan and Pennridge's Dan Lohan - had 11 saves.
