Central Bucks West and Pennridge finished one-two at the Black Knight Joust Tournament at Hempfield High School on Saturday.
Central Bucks West finished pool play with an 8-0 record, sweeping Elizabethtown, Wilson, Lower Dauphin and Souderton. In the playoffs, the Bucks defeated Susquehanock (25-10), Exeter (12-15, 15-13, 15-13) and Hempfield (21-18) before downing SOL rival Pennridge (21-18) in the championship match. The Bucks finished the day 13-1.
It is unusual to have an all-District One final at this elite tournament. Souderton and Christopher Dock were the only other District One competitors out of 15 teams.
Christian Rupert and Joel Klapper led the offense while Matt Hennigan led the team in assists and service aces. Ryan Alu was credited for doing an outstanding job on defense.
