SOL Boys' Volleyball Wrap (3-23-18)

QUAKERTOWN 3, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 0 (25-11, 25-23, 26-24)
The Panthers opened the season with a sweep of the Crusaders. Logan Spieker led a balanced attack with eight kills, and Josh Moyer added six. Setter Justin Flor contributed five kills, five aces and 10 assists, and setter Ty Fosbenner had 17 assists. Also contributing were Zach Frei (four kills) and Cameron Cronk (three kills, three aces).

BENSALEM 3, GLEN MILLS 0 (25-6, 25-14, 25-11)
The Owls lost some key players to graduation, but they didn’t miss a beat in Friday’s season opener, rolling to a sweep of the Battling Bulls. Basheer Ghafary had seven assists, two kills and two aces to lead the Owls. Ethan Fan (two kills, two blocks) and Shiv Patel (two kills, three aces) also played well in the win.

NESHAMINY 3, CRESTWOOD 0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-19)
Ben McGonagle had a big night for the Redskins in Friday’s opener, finishing with 14 kills, two aces and six digs. Mike Muzyk also came up big, leading the service game with seven aces to go along with eight kills and five digs. Tony Camillo contributed three kills and one block, and Jesse Marshall had five kills. Matt Schwab added four aces and led the defense with seven digs, and Albert Shen had one kill and three digs. Tyler Foxhill chipped in an ace and two digs. Setter Alex Swiderski spread the ball around, finishing with 25 assists to go along with three aces and two digs.
