SOL Boys' Volleyball Wrap (4-18-17)

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, SOUDERTON 0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-14)
The Patriots rolled to a sweep of the host Indians on Tuesday.
“CB East came to play and outplayed us,” Souderton coach Dave Stastny said. “They deserved to win the match.”
The Patriots were led by setter Mason Miller, who distributed 28 assists to go along with three blocks and a kill. Carter Haban was a force at the net, registering 11 kills and a block. He also added two aces and six digs. Dylan Colbert had a big night, tallying 12 kills, two aces, and six digs. The East defense was spearheaded by Liam Creeden, who had 11 digs while passing a 2.3. In addition, East had notable performances by Karl Bandlow with two kills and two blocks, Colton Wurz with two blocks, Jared McKeon with five blocks, Christian Wolf with a kill, two aces, six blocks, and a dig, and Andrew Bennett, who chipped in four kills, two blocks, and five digs.

NESHAMINY 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0 (25-18, 25-14, 26-24)
The Titans eked out a win in the third set, but the ‘Skins refused to lose and earned the sweep.
“We played well for our first game since the break,” Neshaminy coach Pat Klingerman said. “We have some things to work on, but overall, it was a great team win.”
Shaun Kelly had a big match for the Redskins, leading the way with 16 kills, three digs and four blocks. Tommy Edwards (six kills, two digs, one block) and Anthony Verrecchio (six kills, two digs, one block) also had strong outings. Ben McGonagle added three kills and two blocks, and Tim Stressman had three kills and one block. Leading the defense was Steven Wenderlich with 13 digs and two assists. Setter Miguel Montalvo had 31 assists. Steve Reich had a pair of digs.
Team leaders for the Titans were Mark Macios (21 assists, two digs) and middle Justin Koren (one ace, 13, kills, one bock, five digs).

WILLIAM TENNENT 3, ARCHBISHOP WOOD 1 (25-14, 25-21, 20-25, 25-17)
The Vikings won the third set of Tuesday’s non-league match after the Panthers won the first two. The Panthers came back to win the fourth set.
Andrew Shurbich led the defense with 17 digs to go along with one ace. Brendan Carter (21 kills, two aces) and Joe Ferrell (15 kills, five aces) had big nights at the net. Setter Ethan Sklut had 36 assists, two aces and one kill.

Also contributing were Matt Berndlmaier (one ace, two kills, one block), Colin Rea (two aces, two kills) and Charlie Green (three kills, one block).
William Tennent is 2-3 overall (1-2 SOL).
