SOL Boys' Volleyball Wrap (4-23-14)

WILLIAM TENNENT 3, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 2 (25-16, 23-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-7)
The Panthers won a tightly contested match against their rival. Jake Milnazik (18 kills, three aces), Brian Ebert (13 kills) and Tom Del Conte (three kills, four blocks) all were forces at the net, and Dillon Cooney set tone for a strong defensive effort with 20 digs. Setter Kyle Lewicki was credited with 43 assists.
For the Indians, Nick Reich (15 kills, five blocks, two aces, one dig) and Josh Hinton (13 kills, 22 digs, one ace) had big nights. Setters Andy Van Thuyne (29 digs, three assists, one ace) and Dalton Abrahamsen (20 assists, seven digs) had busy nights. Austin Fuglestad added eight kills, two blocks and eight digs in an all-around effort. Rick DePaola had eight digs while Matt Pine and Will Desautelle each had three kills.
Council Rock North (6-5, 5-4 SOL) will compete in the Christopher Dock Tournament on Saturday.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, SOUDERTON 0 (25-18, 25-8, 25-16)
The Bucks continue to be unstoppable in SOL play, rolling to the sweep of the Indians. Christian Rupert had a rare double-double at the net with 13 kills and 10 blocks. Setter Matt Hennigan turned in another standout effort, contributing 33 assists, seven kills, six digs and three aces. Joel Klapper added five kills and eight digs. Ryan Alu led the Bucks’ defense with 10 digs. Keith Saunders had four kills while Jackson Cox had three kills and two blocks.
The Indians were led by the trio of Alex Androkites (seven kills, 10 digs), Evan Miller (four kills, three blocks) and Micah Godshall (four kills).
Souderton (7-4) will play at Cheltenham on Friday.

ABINGTON 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 2
The Ghosts earned the hard-fought win in five sets. Setter Tim Seydel had 32 assists, three kills and two blocks. Jason Toomey led the Ghosts at the net with 12 kills while Mark Bond had 11 kills and two blocks. Anthony Lee added six kills and three blocks, and Jake May had four kills and four digs. Charlie Sabach chipped in with three digs and one ace.

QUAKERTOWN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0 (25-20, 25-10, 25-17)
The Panthers received strong performances at the net from Josh Morgan (13 kills, two blocks, three digs), Lucas Schan (nine kills, two blocks), Dylan Flor (seven kills, two blocks) and Coulton Terry (four kills, five blocks). Nick Wesley led the defense with eight digs while setter Xavier Villanueva had 31 assists.

PENNRIDGE 3, CHELTENHAM 1 (25-14, 25-15, 20-25, 25-19)
The Rams used a balanced attack in their win over the Panthers. Devon Rice (10 kills, six blocks, six digs, three aces), Ben Chinnici (10 kills, eight blocks, six digs, three aces), Henry Savage (six kills, three blocks) and Vince Kauders (three kills, two blocks) all made important contributions. Setter Brad Nase had 41 assists. Max McVaugh led the Rams defensively with eight digs.
The Rams (9-2) will host North Penn on Thursday.

NORTH PENN 3, UPPER DUBLIN 0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-10)
Setter Mark Elias dished out 29 assists and also had two blocks and four aces. Kyle Sucro (10 kills, two digs), Gabe Stoler (eight kills, four blocks, one ace) and Eric Mellman (six kills, one block) led a balanced Knight attack. Jake Walters (five kills, two blocks, two aces), Connor Sloan (one kill, one ace) and Darsh Bhalodia (three kills, one block) also contributed to the sweep.

PENNSBURY 3, BENSALEM 0
The Falcons bounced back from Tuesday’s loss to Neshaminy to earn a sweep of the Owls. Once again Jeff Yasalonis turned in a standout all-around effort, contributing three kills, 30 assists, nine aces, four digs and two blocks. Dave Levey led a balanced attack with nine kills and two blocks. Drew Ettlinger had seven kills (.429 hitting percentage), one ace and one block. Josh Leon had four kills (.500) and one dig while Alex Reilley had six kills, one ace, five digs and one block. Daniel Gonzalez led the defense with eight digs to go along with one ace. Also contributing were Kyle Navroth (four kills, five digs), Jacen Arruda (two kills, three blocks), Kenny Hickman (two kills, two blocks), Alec Foerster (three kills) and Sean Sweeney (three digs).
