SOL National Conference

 

NESHAMINY 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 1 (25-20, 20-25, 25-17, 25-20)

In battle of conference powers, it was the Redskins notching the hard-fought win over the visiting Panthers to maintain their stronghold on first place in the standings.

“Tennent is very well coached and really put us under pressure all night,” Neshaminy coach Pat Klingerman said. “Glad to see our guys step up in front of our fans to grind out this victory. We need to work on limiting our own errors moving forward, which Tennent did a great job at taking advantage of our mistakes.”

For the Redskins, Josh Clendening (13 kills, 11 digs, 1 block) and Dan Berzin (13 kills, 8 digs, 1 ace) led the way at the net. Josh Hamilton also had double-digit kills with 10 to go along with nine digs, one ace and one block. Kieran Edwards added eight kills and two blocks, and Ben Clendening had seven kills and two blocks. Setter Josh Adler had 46 assists, three aces, two kills, nine digs and two blocks in a standout effort. Michael Sooby’s 22 digs led the defense. He also had two assists and one ace. Brandon Sloskey had two digs and one ace.

For the Panthers, Jay Layer had 14 kills and 11 digs in a strong outing. Jack Steilen added seven kills and two blocks. Setter Paul Nedeoglo had 32 assists, five blocks, two kills and one ace. Anthony Buono had 10 digs, and Cody Keeny had eight. Joe Vasilevskiy had eight digs and three kills.  Mike Catelli (2 kills, 4 blocks) and Kirby Mooney (3 kills, 2 blocks) also contributed at the net.

Neshaminy (11-0, 7-0 SOL) will travel to Bensalem on Thursday, and William Tennent (9-2, 8-2) will host Pennsbury on Thursday.

 

BENSALEM 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0

The Owls evened their record for the season with a sweep of the Golden Hawks.  

Shiv Parekh (8 kills 1 ace 1 block), Zack Belson (6 kills) and Parth Patel (5 kills) all played well for the Owls. Outside hitter Colin Spear sealed the match with a kill for Bensalem.

Bensalem (6-6, 3-6 SOL) will host Neshaminy on Thursday, and Council Rock South (1-11, 1-9) will travel to Cheltenham on Thursday.

 

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, CHELTENHAM 0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-16)

The Indians notched their 12th win of the season with a sweep of the visiting Panthers.

Making contributions for the Indians were Anthony DePalo (2 aces, 3 kills, 4 digs), Brady Klein (5 aces, 2 kills, 2 digs), Dylan Van Schaick (6 aces, 7 assists, 3 digs), Keertan Palayam (4 kills) and Luke Sill (4 kills)

Council Rock North (12-2, 7-1 SOL) will travel to Abington on Thursday. Cheltenham (0-8, 0-7) will host Council Rock South on Thursday.

 

SOL American Conference

 

NORTH PENN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 2 (16-25, 25-14, 25-17, 11-25, 16-14)

The Knights won a grueling five-set match over the visiting Bucks.

They were led by senior middle hitter Aaron Foulke, who had 18 kills and three blocks. Senior setter Brian Landes led the offense with 27 Assists, seven kills and two aces. Junior Josh Kim stepped in to get 17 assists and junior middle Caleb An contributed to the win with 10 Kills, three blocks and two aces.

North Penn (6-7, 4-5 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks East on Thursday, and Central Bucks West (2-11, 2-8) will host Pennridge on Thursday.

 

PENNRIDGE 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-15)

The Rams rolled to a sweep of the visiting Titans.

Senior setter Riley Kodidek had 20 assists, four kills and four aces. The Rams’ balanced attack received contributions from Thomas McKinney (6 kills, 7 digs), Tyler Johnson (5 kills, 2 aces), Nick Smith (4 kills, 2 blocks), Jude Rotondo (4 kills, 3 aces), Jason McCreary (3 kills), Bryce Ammon (3 kills) and Aaron Ladd (2 kills). Alex Derk had seven digs.

Pennridge (8-1 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks West on Thursday, and Central Bucks South (1-13, 0-9) will host Quakertown on Thursday.

 

SOUDERTON 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0 (25-10, 25-20, 25-15)

The Indians received contributions up and down their lineup in a sweep of the visiting Patriots.

“This was a big team win for us tonight,” Souderton coach Luke Pinto said.

Nate Brown’s 14 kills led the Indians. JC Peacock had eight kills. Setter Kavailya Bhatt had 26 assists and three kills. Also contributing were Ethan Frattarelli (4 digs, 3 aces), Jeremy Garboso (4 digs), Alec Kreiser (4 digs), Tobie Lias (1 kill, 2 digs), Jake Halteman (2 kills) and Aidan Aldredge (1 kill).

 

Non-league

FREEDOM 3, QUAKERTOWN 0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-20)

Micah Reinford (11 kills, 1 block, 8 digs) and Zander Marks (10 kills, 1 block, 3 aces, 12 digs) turned in strong efforts for the Panthers, but Freedom had just too much firepower in Tuesday’s non-league match.

Setter Cody Steiert had 24 assists, one kill, one block and four digs. Also making contributions were Andrew Sturgess (4 kills, 1 block, 1 dig), Logan Parker (4 digs), Anthony Clark (1 ace, 5 digs), Miles Longacre (1 kill, 1 block, 3 digs), Owen Reinford (1 kill, 1 block, 2 digs) and Rhauan Ferriera (1 block).

Quakertown (3-8, 2-6 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks South on Thursday.
