SOL Boys' Volleyball Wrap (4-30-18)

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 2 (22-25, 25-17, 19-25, 25-16, 15-11)
The Golden Hawks trailed the Panthers 2-1 but rallied to win the next two sets to notch the come-from-behind victory.
TJ Rodman led the Golden Hawks’ defense with 28 digs. Andrew Richards had a monster night at the net with 21 kills and two blocks to go along with one ace and 13 digs. Shane Slivinski led the defense with 24 digs, two blocks, eight kills and one ace. Dane Paulson added 16 digs, two blocks, one ace and five kills. Also contributing were Jake Leonard (two kills, two blocks), Dylan Baptiste (three kills) and Joey Barrett (two aces, three digs).

PENNRIDGE 3, SOUDERTON 0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-23)
The Rams received contributions up and down their lineup in their sweep of the Indians.
Cross Edwards (15 kills, four aces), Chris McKinney (seven kills, two blocks), Zach Detweiler (six kills, four blocks), Kevin Jones (four kills, two blocks) and Mike Molettiere (four kills) all made contributions at the net. Danny Rutter led the defense with 15 digs. Jeremy Pruss added nine digs and two aces while Ethan Lionetti had five digs and two aces. Setter Corey Quaste had 29 assists, seven digs and three blocks.
For the Indians, Ben Campman led the way with 10 kills. Setter Luke Pagan had 24 assists.
“We played against a good team, but we came up short in the match,” Souderton coach Dave Stastny said.

NESHAMINY 3, ABINGTON 2 (25-27, 23-25, 25-14, 25-22, 15-13)
Ben McGonagle (11 kills, three digs, one ace) and Tony Camillo (10 kills, two blocks) led the Redskins, who dropped the first two sets but rallied to win the next three. Jesse Marshall added eight kills and two blocks, and Steve Wenderlich had seven kills, eight digs, three blocks and one ace. Alex Swiderski led the defense with 14 digs to go along with two aces. Setter JD Palmieri had 28 assists, five aces and two blocks. Matt Schwab (six kills, five digs, two aces) and Bert Shen (six digs) also contributed.
For the Ghosts, Danny Gonzalez had a huge night at the net, finishing with 24 kills to go along with four digs and two aces. Shane Collins had six kills, and Jason Lockhart had two blocks and three kills. Juan Perez had three blocks and two kills, and Peter Dougherty had two kills. Sean Dougherty had 13 digs and an ace, and Josh Harkins had one kill and three digs. Charlie Viola added five digs, and setter TJ Dougherty had 38 assists, six digs, one ace and one block.

QUAKERTOWN 3, NORTH PENN 0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-23)
Logan Spieker’s big night (16 kills, five aces, one block, six digs) helped lead the Panthers to a sweep of the Knights. Josh Moyer added six kills, one ace, one block and two digs, and Cameron Cronk had four kills, two blocks and three digs. Justin Flor had three kills, one block and four digs, and Nathan Barkholz contributed one kill, two blocks and four digs. Setter Zach Frei had 26 assists, one kill and seven digs.
For the Knights, setter Drew Coles had 27 assists to go along with seven digs and two kills. Michael Wang led the Knights with 14 kills, two blocks, nine digs and one ace. Deval Patel led the defense with 15 digs and one ace. Also contributing were Alex Stoler (one ace, six kills, one block, three digs), Evan Rothmann (four kills, two digs), Zach Jayes (four kills, one block, four digs), Kevin Abraham (two kills, two blocks, one dig), Isaac Lambert (one kill, one block, three digs) and Ryan Stewart (six digs).

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, CHELTENHAM 0 (25-16, 25-11, 25-15)
The Titans honored their graduating seniors, and all six, according to coach Matt Ehlers, played an important role in the win. Kevin Cho had a productive match with two aces, four kills and five digs. Jack Hertkorn played consistently with an ace, two kills, five blocks, and six digs. Joe Karn led both the defense and offense with an ace, eight kills, a block and 10 digs. Jake Monson played as both a setter and hitter and recorded an ace, three kills, two blocks, nine assists and six digs. Dylan Moser had a good match serving and at the net with two aces, six kills, two blocks, and three digs. Tim White also was consistent and had an ace, four kills, four blocks, and four digs.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-14)
The Patriots earned a sweep of their neighboring rival, and the match, according to East coach Rob Minschwaner, and featured a superb defensive effort by the Patriots. Jacob LaBouliere led the way with 13 digs. Steve Storm guided a balanced attack with 26 assists, two kills and 10 digs. Carter Haban notched 16 kills, three aces and 10 digs. Dylan Colbert added six kills, two aces and 12 digs while Andrew Bennett accounted for four kills, 12 digs and three blocks. Christian Wolf added three kills, four blocks and three digs, and Thomas Gallagher-Teske contributed three blocks and a kill.
For the Bucks, Eli Gilbson (nine kills, four digs) and Cole Nagle (six kills, four digs) led the way at the net. Jason Miller’s 18 digs led the defense, and setter Adam Klapper had 15 assists, seven digs and four kills. Louis Weimer had 10 assists.

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, BENSALEM 0
Setter Nick Baniewicz spent the match spreading the ball around, finishing with 26 assists, 1.5 blocks and one dig. Justin Burns led a balanced attack with 12 kills, two digs and two blocks. Harry Wyatt (six kills, two digs, two aces), Will Hewitt (four kills, 2.5 blocks) and Jack Gunshenan (four kills) all contributed at the net. Chase McCaulley had four assists. Also contributing were Sean D’Arcy (three kills, three digs), Vytis Duncia (three kills, one block), Justin Walton (three kills), Nick Ripans (two digs), Nick Desautelle (two kills), Herby Boucard (.5 blocks) and Seth Connors (.5 blocks).
For the Owls, Greg Philip, according to coach Tim Linehan, had an excellent match with 11 kills, one ace and one block. Jay Tilvawala (five kills, two assists) and Basheer Ghafary (16 assists, one kill) also played well for the Owls.
