KNIGHTS CAPTURE TITLE AT COMET CLASH
North Penn walked away with the championship trophy at Saturday’s Comet Clash at Penn Manor High School. The Knights defeated Exeter in the quarterfinals and followed that with a win over their hosts, Penn Manor, in the semis before defeating Schuylkill Valley 
in the title game. Kyle Sucro led the Knights in the title match with 10 kills and one ace. Jake Walters added six kills and one block, Eric Mellman, five kills, and Gabe Stoler, four kills and one ace. Setter Mark Elias had 23 assists, and Nate Maleckey led the defense with five digs. Joe Grundy had one dig and two aces.

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, ABINGTON 1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-23)
The Ghosts won the first set only to watch the Indians rally to win the next three to earn the victory in the tightly contested match.
Josh Hinton had a big night at the net for the Indians, contributing 17 kills and 3.5 blocks to go along with four digs and five aces. Nick Reich added 10 kills and nine blocks as well as two digs in a huge performance of his own while Will Desautelle had seven kills and five blocks. Dalton Abrahamsen (19 assists, six digs) and Logan Fuglestad (nine assists, three digs) split setting duties. Andy Van Thuyne led the defense with nine digs to go along with four aces. Also making important contributions were Austin Fuglestad (three kills, five blocks), Will Stollsteimer (five kills, three digs, two aces), Matt Pine (two kills) and Jason Yakimiv (one kill, 1.5 block).
For the Ghosts, setter Tim Seydel had 32 assists to go along with six digs, three kills and three blocks. Leading the Ghosts at the net were Mark Bond (10 kills, eight blocks), Anthony Lee (10 kills, five blocks) and Jason Toomey (seven kills). Joe Wiley led the defense with 19 digs.
The Indians, who evened their SOL record at 2-2 (3-3 overall), return to action next Monday when they will travel to Bensalem.

PENNSBURY 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 1 (25-19, 25-15, 16-25, 25-21)
The Falcons used a balanced attack to defeat the Panthers in four games on Monday night. Alec Foerster led his team at the net with 13 kills to go along with two digs. Drew Ettlinger (nine kills, one ace, three digs, four blocks), Alex Reilley (nine kills, one ace, 11 digs, two blocks), John Killoran (eight kills, two assists, 19 digs) and David Levey (seven kills, one assist, one ace, eight digs) also had big nights.
Pennsbury setter Jeff Yasalonis had another busy night, contributing four kills, 45 assists, two aces, seven digs and one block. Daniel Gonzalez de la Rosa had a strong game defensively, contributing 18 digs. Kyle Navroth (five digs) and Sean Sweeney (four digs) also contributed.

PENNRIDGE 3, QUAKERTOWN 0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-10)
Three players did most of the damage at the net for the Rams in Monday’s sweep of the Panthers. Alex Vellner had 10 kills to go along with six digs and two aces. Kolby Smith (seven kills, seven digs, six aces) and Devon Rice (seven kills, nine digs, two aces) also had big nights for the Rams. Setter Brad Nase had 30 assists, five digs, three blocks and two kills. Steve Braun led the defense with nine digs.
For the Panthers, Josh Morgan had eight kills and five digs, and Dylan Flor had six kills. Lucas Schan (three kills) and Mike Dierolf (three kills, four digs) also contributed. Setter Xavier Villanueva had 20 assists. Nick Wesley led the defense with eight digs.
Pennridge, which upped its record to 4-1, will travel to Souderton on Wednesday. Quakertown returns to action Wednesday when the Panthers will travel to Cheltenham.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, CHELTENHAM 0 (25-13, 25-14, 25-12)
Christian Rupert led the Bucks with 11 kills, two aces and four blocks while Jackson Cox added eight kills. Setter Matt Hennigan contributed 21 assists, seven aces and three kills, and Joel Klapper had five kills and three digs.

NORTH PENN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-15)
Kyle Sucro had 14 kills, two digs and two aces to lead the Knights in Monday’s sweep of the Titans. Gabe Stoler contributed nine kills and two aces, and Eric Mellman had seven kills and three assists. Junior middle hitter Jake Walters had an impressive outing, delivering nine kills on nine swings and also contributing a pair of blocks.  Setter Mark Elias also had a big night, contributing 33 assists, four digs and two blocks.
