SOL Boys' Volleyball Wrap (4-8-24)

SOL American Conference

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, NORTH PENN 0
Sparked by 17 kills from Ben Grove and 30 assists from Gavin Roth, the Titans swept North Penn in three sets.
North Penn put up a good fight in set two but came up just short, losing 24-26.
"North Penn had set point in set two, and I stood up to take a timeout,” South coach Dave Schlosser said. “I quickly changed my mind because we'd been working on closing out close games the last 3-4 practices. It paid off.
“I had to change the lineup a bit tonight, but the boys adjusted well. Our middles have been really tough lately. Brody Cocca has been a man on a mission both hitting and blocking. If he was blocked tonight, I missed it. Brody had been a rock for us. He also served a nice string of points in that first set. Will Nothum had a couple good blocks and has been very tough offensively as well.”

For the Knights, junior outside Max Reilly led the team with 10 kills and 11 digs. Junior middle blocker Jack Woodland contributed six kills and one block. Sophomore opposite Kyle Park chipped in five kills and three digs. Senior setter Aaron Birkmire led the team with 14 assists, one ace and two digs. Junior Setter Daniel Oh added nine assists, one ace, and four digs.
Central Bucks South (2-3 SOL) will be on the road at Central Bucks East on Thursday, and North Penn (1-7, 1-6) will host Souderton on Thursday.
