WILLIAM TENNENT 3, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 0

The Panthers continued their strong conference showings in conference play with a sweep of the Indians.

Setter Paul Nedeoglo had 30 assists and three kills. Jack Steilen (12 kills, 3 aces, 3 blocks), Joe Vasilevskiy (9 kills, 11 digs), Jay Layer (9 kills, 2 aces), Mike Catelli (4 kills, 2 blocks), Connor Fleming (2 kills, 2 blocks) and Connor Tucholskii (2 kills, three blocks) all made contributions at the net. Cody Keeny’s 14 digs led the defense while Anthony Buono had eight digs.

For the Indians, Brady Klein had 12 kills, 12 digs and one ace and Anthony DePalo had seven kills and three digs. Luke Sill had 22 digs to lead the defense. He also had six kills and two blocks. Also contributing were Nick Cirincione (11 digs), Jack DePalo (9 digs) and Nick Alleborn (2 kills, 4 blocks).  Setter Dylan VanSchaick had 27 assists, 27 digs and two kills.

William Tennent (11-2, 10-2 SOL) will host Council Rock South on Thursday, and Council Rock North (14-4, 8-2) will travel to Bensalem on Thursday.

 

NESHAMINY 3, ABINGTON 1 (27-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-9)

The Ghosts battled, earning a win in the third set, but the Redskins finished strong, rolling to a win in the fourth set.

“Abington is a very well-coached team that continued to push us all night long,” Neshaminy coach Pat Klingerman said. “They did a good job limiting their errors and putting the pressure on us to put balls away. Glad we were able to bounce back and play our game in the fourth set of the match."

Kieran Edwards (12 kills, 2 aces, 2 digs, 1 block) Ben Clendening (11 kills, 3 blocks), Josh Clendening (8 kills, 4 aces, 5 digs, 4 blocks), Dan Berzin (8 kills, 3 digs, 1 ace, 1 block, 1 assist) and Josh Hamilton (5 kills, 1 block, 1 ace, 2 digs, 1 assist) gave the Redskins plenty of firepower at the net. Setter Josh Adler had 40 assists to go along with four kills, five digs and one block. Michael Sooby had six digs.

For the Ghosts, setter Colin Mulvihill had 34 assists and nine digs. On the receiving end of those assists were Xavier Voit (14 kills, 1 assist, 4 blocks, 2 digs, 1 ace), Myles Winegrad (10 kills, 1 assist, 7 digs, 2 blocks), Michael Lyou (7 kills, 1 dig, 1 block), Ben Holler (6 kills, 1 assist, 8 digs, 1 block) and Zach Miller (3 kills, 9 digs, 3 blocks). Jake Kosik was key on defense, finishing with 13 digs, one kill and one assist. Patrick McBride had three digs.

“Neshaminy is a well-balanced team that does all the little things right,” Abington coach Jason Barshinger said. “I feel like we are starting to play some very competitive volleyball against the better teams in our district. The next few weeks will be exciting as we wrap up the season and head into playoffs.”

Neshaminy (14-0, 10-0 SOL) will host Pennsbury on Thursday, and Abington (9-6, 4-6) will travel to Cheltenham on Thursday.

QUAKERTOWN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 1 (25-14, 25-21, 16-25, 25-19)

The Panthers notched an impressive road win, earning the four-set win over the Patriots.

Leading the way at the net were Zander Marks (15 kills, 2 blocks, 1 ace, 12 digs) and Micah Reinford (13 kills, 15 digs). Setter Cody Steiert had 26 assists, eight digs and one block. Kurt Glaeser (15 digs, 2 aces), Anthony Clark (11 digs, 2 aces) and Logan Parker (13 digs, 1 ace) anchored a standout defensive effort. Also contributing were Andrew Sturgess (2 kills, 3 blocks, 2 digs), Kevin Richwine (1 kill, 1 dig) and Isaac Moises (1 kill, 1 block, 2 digs).

East leaders on Tuesday were Matt LaBouliere (14 kills, 15 assists, 15 digs, 3 blocks), Reid Miller (8 kills), Josh Lyzinski (3 blocks, 1 dig, 6 kills) and Aiden Leichter (24 digs). Setter Ryan Coxey had 18 assists and two digs. Also contributing were Ethan Scott (9 digs, 3 kills), Pat Haurin (1 block, 7 digs, 3 kills), Steve DiRugeris (6 digs, 2.75 passing), Justin Berger (1 kill, 2 blocks, 3 digs), Anthony Perillo (2 kills, 1 dig) and Connor Callaghan (2 digs).

Quakertown (5-9, 4-6 SOL) will travel to Souderton on Thursday, and Central Bucks East (9-6, 7-5) will be on the road at Central Bucks West on Thursday.

 

PENNRIDGE 3, SOUDERTON 2 (25-17, 22-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-13)

In yet another classic battle between the neighboring rivals, it was the Rams eking out a five-set win.

Riley Kodidek had a busy night in a standout effort, handing out 50 assists and also contributing six blocks. Tyler Johnson had 16 kills (.577 hitting percentage) and five blocks. Jude Rotondo added 15 kills and 10 digs, and Thomas McKinney had 11 kills, 14 digs and three blocks. Bryce Ammon contributed eight kills and four aces, and Nick Smith had five kills and four blocks. Alex Derk’s 17 digs led the defense. Ty Porter had six digs.

For the Indians, Nate Brown had a monster night at the net, contributing 24 kills to go along with nine digs and four aces. Andrew Brown had 13 kills while JC Peacock (5 kills, 3 blocks) and Tobias Lias (5 kills) also contributed at the net. Alec Kreiser had seven digs, and Ethan Frattarelli added five digs.

Pennridge (11-1, 10-1 SOL) will travel to Upper Dublin on Thursday, and Souderton (7-8, 6-4) will be on the road at Upper Dublin on Wednesday.

 

UPPER DUBLIN 3, NORTH PENN 0 (25-15, 29-24, 25-16)

Benjamin Dorsey had 16 kills and David Levin added 15 in a dominant effort at the net to lead the Flying Cardinals to a sweep of the Knights. Dorsey also had two aces and five digs while Levin had five digs and three blocks. Cole Brown handled setting duties, contributing 34 assists, one kill, one ace and three digs. Terrell Turner added six kills and one block, and Ari Weiner had three kills, two aces, two digs and one block.

The Knights were led by senior middle Aaron Foulke who had six kills and four blocks. Senior Aiden Green contributed with four kills while both junior setters Josh Kim and Sion Yeo helped the cause with nine assists.

Upper Dublin (10-3, 9-0 SOL) will host Souderton on Wednesday, and North Penn (6-9, 4-7) will travel to Central Bucks South on Friday.
