SOL Boys' Volleyball Wrap (5-8-19)

SOL National Conference

PENNSBURY 3, NESHAMINY 0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-19)
The Falcons clinched sole possession of the SOL National Conference title with their sweep of the Redskins.
Justin Sadley led the Falcons at the net with 16 kills (.367 hitting percentage), four aces and one block. Sebastian Kloda had eight kills (.615), one dig and three blocks. Luke Bucksar added seven kills, three aces, eight digs and three blocks. Jake Loerch had five kills, two aces, six digs and three blocks. Matt Caissie added eight digs and one assist. Setter Andy Delworth had 34 assists, one kill, one ace, seven digs and one block. Nathan Sadley added two kills.
For the Redskins, Tony Camillo led the way with 11 kills, two aces and two digs. Setter Nick Storz had 17 assists, eight digs and one block. Also contributing were Matt Schwab (three kills, six digs, one block), Jesse Marshall (four kills), Paul Allen (one kill, one block), Jesse Kovaschetz (two assists, three digs), Ben Clendening (two kills) and Stephen Fario (five digs).
The Falcons closed out the regular season with a 13-2 record overall. They are 13-1 in conference play.

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-16)
The Indians celebrated Senior Night with a sweep of their neighboring rival.
Sean D’Arcy had nine kills and a .438 hitting percentage. He also had six digs and four aces. Nick Desautelle had seven kills, six digs and six aces. Justin Burns contributed four kills, five digs and one ace, and Connor Mooney-Moore had three kills, two aces and two digs. Setter Vytis Duncia had 21 assists, three kills, six digs and five aces.

ABINGTON 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 2 (25-19, 21-25, 25-21, 21-25, 15-12)
The Ghosts won a grueling five-set match.
Abington combined for eight blocks and six aces. Setter Toulant Kurti dished out 40 assists to Danny Gonzalez (21 kills), Kenny Wasekanes (10 kills) and Juan Perez (seven kills). Sean Dougherty led the defense with 23 digs along with Toulant Kurti, 17 digs, Ross Armon, 12 digs and Kenny Wasekanes with ten digs.

SOL American Conference

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1 (24-26, 25-15, 25-20, 25-18)
The Titans – who celebrated Senior Night - won a tightly contested first set, but the Patriots rallied to win the next three to cap a perfect regular season.
The Patriots top players were Dylan Colbert with 24 kills, 12 digs and two aces, Steve Storm with 50 assists, two aces, two kills, and five digs, and Jacob LaBouliere with 12 digs, two blocks, and nine kills. Thomas Gallagher-Teske (12 kills, five blocks) and Christian Wolf (five kills, two blocks, six digs) combined to be a force in the middle, and Ryan Figus once again set the tone on defense picking up 17 digs. Notable contributions were also made by CJ Dalby with four blocks, two digs, and two kills, and Jack Miller who accounted for two aces and five digs.
For the Titans, Mason Zeo had two aces, seven kills, one block and 10 digs. Jonathan Zonshein had one ace, six kills, one block, one assist and three digs. Andrew Rubas led the setters with 24 assists. Aidan O'Brien was fired up for this game and finished with two aces, 20 kills, three blocks and 17 digs. 
“Tonight was our Senior Night and the team played well against a very tough opponent,” South coach Matt Ehlers said. “Both of our seniors had good games.”

QUAKERTOWN 3, PENNRIDGE 2 (23-25, 25-21, 25-18, 22-25, 15-13)
The Panthers pulled off the upset of the visiting Rams, winning in five sets to notch their second conference win of the season.
Justin Flor (12 kills, three aces, two blocks, eight digs, one assist), Cameron Cronk (10 kills, four aces, one block, two digs) and Nathan Barkholz (seven kills, two blocks, two digs) led the Panthers at the net. Ty Fosbenner (27 assists, five kills, one ace, one block, seven digs) and Zach Frei (15 assists, eight kills, one block, six digs) shared setting duties. Tyler Einolf was also a force at the net with seven blocks and one kill. Seth Wesley added three aces and four digs.
For the Rams, Danny Rutter led the defense with 19 digs and four aces. Making contributions at the net were Ryan Benscoter (13 kills, 11 digs), Ethan Lionetti (nine kills, six digs, two blocks), Chris McKinney (10 kills, two blocks), Austin Jaloskinski (seven kills) and Matt McCreary (six kills). Pat Mehlbaum had 11 digs, and setter Tommy Cassel had 40 assists.

UPPER DUBLIN 3, SOUDERTON 0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-23)
The Flying Cardinals, the runner-up to CB East in the conference standings, closed their regular season with a sweep of Souderton.
David Levin (19 assists, one dig) and Devin O’Brien (15 assists, two digs) split setting duties. Mario Petushi (seven aces, one block, 15 digs), Mike Ryan (four blocks) and Matthew Ross (one ace, four blocks, six digs) led the Cardinals at the net with nine kills each. Taco Thompson had eight digs, three aces and two assists. Also contributing were Alec Madden (three kills, one block, one dig), Ciaran Sutherland (three kills, one block, one dig), Joey Levin (one ace, six digs) and Trevor Malloy (three kills, one dig).

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, NORTH PENN 2
The Bucks won a five-set match over the visiting Knights to lock down third place in the conference standings.
North Penn setter Drew Coles had 37 assists, 12 digs and one ace. Evan Rothmann (18 kills, two aces, seven digs), Kevin Abraham (12 kills, three digs) and Michael Wang (11 kills, two aces, three blocks, nine digs) led the Knights at the net. James Stewart’s 16 digs led the defense. Zach Jayes added two kills, two aces, three blocks and nine digs.

BENSALEM 3, CHELTENHAM 0
Kyle McVicar had a career high eight kills while Meet Patel had four kills and four aces in the Owls’ sweep of the Panthers.
Bensalem closed the season at 11-8 (8-6 SOL).

Tuesday, May 7
BENSALEM 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 1 (25-16, 25-21, 15-25, 25-13)
The Owls used a balanced attack led by Shiv Patel (11 kills), Paul Leible (eight kills, two blocks), Ethan Fan (seven kills, four aces) and Kyle McVicar (four kills). Basheer Ghafary had 26 assists and four kills. Brad Rosenberg (two aces) and Harsh Shah (eight digs) also played well for the Owls.

Non-league
NORTH PENN 3, DOCK MENNONITE 1
James Stewart turned in a huge defensive performance for the Knights with 35 digs. Setters Drew Coles (35 assists, four digs, two kills, one block) and Ryan Stewart (six assists, four digs) combined for 41 assists. Michael Wang had a big night at the net, finishing with 17 kills, two blocks and 16 digs. Kevin Abraham added nine kills, one ace, three blocks and four digs, and Evan Rothmann had eight kills, one block and one dig. Zach Jayes had six kills, two blocks and 16 digs. Isaac Lambert finished with five kills, one ace and 16 digs, and AJ Patterson had four blocks.
